I have to say my kids and I love this set. It is so zany and crazy compared to your normal Lego sets which in many cases are made to look realistic. Emmet’s thricycle is like no real-life vehicle I know and is something you can definitely imagine Emmet building. And isn't that part of the wonder of Lego – it allows you to let your imagination run wild and build inventive contraptions that the real world has never seen before.We have not seen Lego Movie 2 yet (due for release in the UK on Feb 8 which at time of writing has not come) but this toy is getting us excited for it. There are three main parts:There is a Duplo invader. What is great about this is that they've made the Duplo out of Lego which is clever.It does mean the invader is not compatible with real Duplo but we don't mind. The invader also has a good opening and closing of mouth, although the mouth won't close fully because of the teeth. My 4-year-old son enjoys saying "nom nom nom" as he uses this feature. Then there is another feature where you can turn the Duplo invader's eye around in circles using a knob you can rotate around the other side of the invader. The Duplo invader looks good and works well.Then there is the fuelling station which has a fuel pump with a hose that can be removed from its holder and stretched to place it into the thricycle to refuel it. There is a place in the middle of this station where Emmet's Thricycle can park and his thricycle stays upright without any further support, and there is a catapult feature on the other side, although I have to say that the catapult is the most disappointing feature of the set because it is hard to get it working well as there is not much leverage.Then there is the main part of the set - the thricycle. This looks great and is like a unicycle but with three wheels on top of each other instead of one. It has stabilisers at the bottom which can be used to stand the vehicle up on its own, or twisted inwards so that the vehicle can be driven. When the thricycle is being wheeled along it is good how all three wheels move as if they were cogs. Emmet can sit at the top to drive it and this set comes with an Emmet figure which is always nice to have. This Emmet has a double face, one of which remains hidden beneath his hair until you turn the head around. One expression is happy and the other is worried. He also comes with his friend Planty.As well as the catapult not working well the other minor negative is that the set has some stickers. It would be better if the Lego pieces came with the patterns transferred onto them already, but stickers are always part of a Lego set these days. Still the imagination here is great, and my 4-year-old son is particular having fun driving the vehicle around whilst making "vroom vroom" sound. We can't wait to see how this set features in the movie.

I love the Lego Movie sets and this is another fine example. The Thricycle is important in the movie so it was due a model.The build is fairly simple and consists of a refuelling station and the Thricycle itself. Also included is a cute ‘Duplo Monster’ made out of Lego that opens and closes its mouth.The play potential is great here for any kids who love the Lego movies. It combines well with other sets to allow re-enactment of the scenes.The only downside, which is a minor point, is that the Thricycle isn’t all that stable. Understandable, as it’s a three wheeled vehicle that top heavy, and Lego have done a pretty good job overall in making it work. That said,it is prone to falling over if you don’t set it ‘just so’ and while it rests on the stand, it doesn’t engage so if you’re looking to display this as a model, you might want to think about adding a little stability to it.

This Legp set copmes in two packets inside the box. They are labelled 1 and 2 but 2 contains another smaller packet with smaller fiddly pieces. It's a great set and makes Emmet's Tricycle with a few left over bits. It's definitely a 7+ set with lots of small bits that need reasonably good fine motor control. Emmet has a happy face on one side and a slightly grumpier/angry face on the other side so you can put his hair over the side you don't want to use. The Duplo pieces made from Lego are genius. And apparently are a plot point in the movie. Movie hasn't been released at the time of writing the review so not sure if this is something directly from it. It's a great set overall as it can be played with once it has been built.Photos of our effort attached!

This is the most fun Lego set I have probably ever seen. A three wheel bike! Brought out in response to the Lego 2 movie. Here there is a three part Lego set with the tricycle as the main item. Arrived well packed with good easy to follow instructions. Two 10 and 11 year olds set the set together without any problems but not too quickly, they enjoyed sorting the Lego bricks etc and setting up the parts without rushing.Fun is had too playing with the set. The enjoyment and interaction with this Lego kit will be more more once everyone has seen the movie. In the meantime this is a superb Lego set to enjoy now.

This is a small LEGO set - ideal for a gift or a wee treat for the LEGO fan in your family.I helped my grandson build this yesterday. As usual with LEGO all the bits are there, the instructions are very easy to follow and the components all build well together. What more can be said?Children tend to love LEGO.Great for stimulating fine motor and problem solving skills whilst enabling imaginative play.This is a funny looking vehicle - but apparently the character and his mode of transport is known to LEGO movie fans.

As much as a lego fan I am, I find these kits more like airfix from my childhood - a one shot build - but this is nice kit, it goes with the film and has the bespoke parts. And I have to be honest, I immediately took the tyres from this set for another build (hehe, but that's the point of lego ain't it!)If I were a full on collector, and fan of the movie, it'd certainly make a nice gift, it's not a tiny set, and I can't knock it for quality, it's stop notch.

For a fairly small model, this actually took quite some time to build as there are quite a lot of small parts involved. The instructions were very clear and there are 79 steps in total which took about 40 minutes to complete altogether, so definitely a decent amount of build time to go with this model.It's a pretty cool model, but of course the best part is Emmet, who is a lovely and quirky character and they perfected him in this figurine.

This set is great fun and the 3 big wheel high "thrike" looks grest too. In the box you get a lot of bits, including a chomping alien, Emmet character and a fuel pump. This would be a great gift if your child is going to see the LegoMovie part 2. I have knocked a star off as I think at £12.99 the price, like most Lego is quite steep given the contents and that a £9.99 price is more what I'd be prepared to pay for a pack this size.

I love this set, although I can see that it will be a bit of a Marmite item, as it is something of a hybrid, with some Technic pieces and a duplo invader (but made from standard Lego) .Is it also fairly impractical as a away-from-home toy, compared to a Lego City vehicle for example.But it is Emmet, and its Lego Movie 2, which we can't wait to see.Value-wise it is reasonable.

If you've seen either of the Lego movies, you'll know Emmett designs a lot of different and very strange items.This motorcycle is one of them and it's good fun to be able to recreate them.It's a decent value toy and I'm happy to recommend.
