This is a rather sweet ‘introduction to Technics’ set for kids who might know other Lego styles already but who haven’t gotten into Technics pieces yet. It’s a strong introduction. It’s also a really unusual-looking car- it sits *very* low to the ground, with a low profile and the fact the steering wheel isn’t visible from some angles making it seem almost like a model of an autonomous vehicle than a driven one. Maybe it’s just me but it feels almost Blade Runner-esque in its design. It’s very easy to build, and my daughter who’s tackled bigger Technics sets was able to piece this together confidently and quickly, as it doesn’t really contain any surprises. The only completely new piece was the pull-back mechanism, which is essentially a pre-built thing- you don’t get to explore its inner workings during the build. It works really well, giving quite a zip to the car from a relatively small amount of pull-back, thanks to the cars fairly low weight more than its aerodynamics.I don’t have set 42090 so I haven’t been able to test out building the two into a single bigger car, which looks like a lot of fun. I’m certainly tempted to get it- but I wonder whether if we did get it, we wouldn’t end up combining them into something odd-looking, we’d probably have more fun playing chases with two separate pull-back cars.A toy police car is pretty much obligatory for kids’ play, and if you’re going to have one, why not a Lego one? And why not a strangely funky-looking one? And why not one you can pull back and release as well? It’s all positives. A hard-to-fault ‘my first Technics’ set with a neat and unusual look.

I purchased this set because I have been curious about the pull back system but have been unable to find the correct model for me. This is it. I took my time with the few stickers and the build came out simply spectacular. It it a post modern look and its size make it a great display piece, however I must confess to using it for a while to race around the house. I took off the front few pieces and it even jumped a ramp that I had. This is a wonderfully enjoyable set, offering a variety of different things to build. This is the set to introduce someone to the " Technic" line. The instructions are clear, the pieces large, and the build is symmetrical. It is almost twice the size of a Lego city police car. This makes it easy and fun to enjoy the experience of the build. This is a great set.

This is one of the smaller Technic sets although still a great little build. My Husband built this with my Son although my Husband usually builds the larger Technic sets. This would be a great smaller introduction to Technic for younger builders and my Son enjoyed building this with his Dad.Unlike some other smaller Technic sets this isn't a 2-in-1 set by itself however if combined with another set it can be made into another vehicle just like the Bash and Crash sets from last year could. We will be buying the other set in order to make the other build and I will add photos at some point in the future showing itAs usual from Lego another brilliant set and currently at a great price too.

A small set, fun to build. Great for older kids who thought they’d outgrown Lego and along comes this slightly more technical range. My son built this in about 20 minutes while I cooked his dinner last night and thoroughly enjoyed it, there are obviously bigger more complicated sets in the range, some of which he has also had and enjoyed building, but these little sets are a great introduction to the Technic range. This particular set has in the box, instructions for how to construct the Police Car only. There is also a 4x4 build option for which you need an additional set- the Getaway Truck and to combine the two sets.Lots of fun to build and a sturdy vehicle once built

The technic cars with pull back motors have been around a few years now. You get them as standalone models but then can merge them into bigger sets as well.In this case, you get a police pursuit car - it’s got the same very robust build, excellent pull back motor and straight forward build which makes it both suit a wide range of builders but also make an excellent toy.One thing to be aware of is this model has very little ground clearance - it’s more like a formula 1 car. The others in the series tend to have more ground clearance - on a smooth floor though,it flies.

This Technics Police Pursuit Car is a small and comparatively simple introduction to the more advanced world of Technics Lego. The car you build is a futuristic, Bladerunner looking vehicle, rather than a police car that your children will recognise. There's no room for a driver, which didn't prove an issue with my girls. The pull back and go motion worked ok, though not brilliantly (possibly because of my construction, admittedly) but that wasn't really the appeal - it's the building, not the playing, as is the case with so much of this kind of thing.

This pull-back Lego racer is another great hit with my son. He had some help to build it from Daddy (who loves messing about with Lego as much as the younger generation!)It's from the Lego technic range (our favourite type of Lego as it's so versatile, and my husband who is a aerospace engineer can really get stuck in with building interesting own-builds too).My son loves this car because of the pull-back motor, which is actually quite powerful and sends the car off across the conservatory floor pretty fast, and for quite a long distance.5 stars.

Bought this Lego set for my grandsons birthday we built it together We both found the instructions very easy to follow and had the set put together in no time, the stickers included were a bit fiddly but make the set look really great. This was my grandsons first Technic set and I doubt it will be his last the set when put together is very robust. The pull back feature is great and works really well and even though some bits fall off when it collides with the furniture it is all part of the fun.

This was a joy to build with my 5.5 year old grandson during our recent holiday. When he returned home his dad downloaded a new instruction book from the Lego website that allowed the parts from this kit to be added to those from one he already had to build a larger and more complicated 8 wheel 2 engined vehicle.Lego Technic is so tough there is not fear that the models will break no matter how high the are made to jump

Great fun intro to Lego Technic, but where in the world do the Police use an F1 car to catch speeders?Lego Town, ahhhh so.Fun build, simple and the pull back and go mechanism adds so post-build play, instead of just posing the car.Interchangeable with other Lego parts, so it can be customised, which would be great fun.Nice kit, good pressie for the young engineer.

My boys have love Lego and have done for some years. It gets them off electronics for a bit. It is educational, creative and fun. This did not take long to build. It is fairly straightforward. It is then pulled back and shoots forward. Their first introduction to Lego techno and it will not be their last, Typical Lego. Great quality. Recommended,

I agree with other reviews is this a Police car or Racing car? Either way my grandson had no trouble building this, he loves all Lego and this is no exception. Once built it is sturdy and goes quite fast on a hard floor. Its a nice little car which is slightly bigger than I expected and is a great little stocking filler or Birthday gift.

Now the set in play feature is awesome and the build is really good and the instructions are pretty good except for some to confusing angles, but the thing that bugs me is the drivers cockpit. It look like it had its engine removed and had a anvil fall on the front cover.Overall great build and play experience but needs a makeover!

There is much to like, no love about this tiny technic setIt is huge funBuilding is funPlaying with it is funAnd then using the parts to make your own creations, maybe that is the best fun of all. These smaller sets are a great introduction to the technics range.Thoroughly recommended.100% recommended

This is a great set to build. I have also bought the truck for the combinable version. My question is where can I get instructions for the combinable version?? I have looked throughout the website but maybe I am looking in the wrong spots. I cannot find it please help if you know where I can find it.
