This is a review from a 39 and 41 year old kid. We had an evening to spare so decided to build this and then play with the app. We thoroughly enjoyed every moment of building. The instructions were very clear and we had no idea what the section we were building were going to be. We were reminded of how clever Lego can be and how enjoyable, even as adults. We found the whole building stage quite theraputic and calming. After building you can just play with the two small rollercoasters and leave it at that if you like. When we got to the app. part, that is when it went a little pear shaped. My Galaxy J70 found the app. and downloaded without issue. My husbands phone, a Huawei P Smart, would not find the app in the Play Store, we assume it's not compatible. So we tried with his Galaxy Tab A and again it didn't find it in the Play Store. So we couldn't do a multiplayer test on it unfortunately but i have attached a video to give you some idea of what the single player mode is like. You can still take it in turns if you like.Anyone, who plays shooting games or racing games on their phone should be able to play this game fine. Like a lot of phone games and online games you get rewads for logging in each day and completing tasks, i also registered for the Lego site, so i have my own account. All seem very easy to do.Overall, i do like this set/game. For the younger kids it will help interaction between a group or great fun to entertain one child. It does prompt the kids to make sure an adult is supervising, as some younger kids may find this a little scary, it does have some spooky music and creates an eerie atmosphere. So, adults, just keep an eye on them to see if they're ok with it before you completely leave them alone. We do recommend this set, it's fun for small and larger children.

It's amazing to think a company that has been around for 88 years, is still finding ways to re-imagine itself in a market where it's loyal user base would likely be happy just getting new models to put together each year!Child or adult, their blend of charm and innovation I think speaks to the curious nature of us all. The Hidden Side collection are a range of fun-filled, spooky ghost hunter themed sets with AR (Augmented Reality) , that allows you to then play a game through your phone that interfaces with the Lego set. Impressive stuff, given that just putting together the set is a challenge in itself given there's 466 pieces! This particular one is a Haunted Fairground; it's very well made, durable and easy to put together (in the context of the Lego world I would say!) if following the instructions correctly. There's a little work around getting all to sync perfectly with the phone, but once up and running this delivers a lot of fun to be had for kids (and a fair few adults!), both single and multiplayer, and with the AR capacity, there's a constant ability to offer new content through the phone, without the expense of new models.Very nicely done concept, well presented, good value for lots of entertainment!

There is just something about the Hidden Side theme that really puts a smile on my face and this addition is no exception. Admittedly, I am probably biased as I have been attracted to anything vaguely horror related since my teenage years and the combination of kitschy cute and horror just make this theme for me.Some unusual build techniques in this little set as well. Particularly the clown figure at the top of the "chute" ride. Takes quite a bit of force to get the cart to the top and activate the mechanism to show the spooky clown face but it is do-able and once you have the knack it is easy enough to trigger each time. The build is nice and sturdy once completed and stood up to quite a protracted play period. For once,I did not use any of the posessed options for the minifigures. Apart from Parker and his gang the main characters for the Fairground are clowns. Yes, like you need a scary option when you already have CLOWNS!Overall a great building experience and a lot of play value even if you do not have the app (and I don't).Number Of Pieces: 466Approximate Price Per Piece: RETIRED PRODUCTBuild Time: 1.5 Hours

Really enjoyable build this. Myself and my wife took turns (you really cant build these things together) and it was good fun for a few hours. Really love how the build comes together slowly and you can start to put the peices together in your mind to see what the final build will look like. A cassic lego feel. The movement on the ride is brilliant, really smooth. Some nice features, especially the clown head popping open to reveal a more sinnister face behind it.This it the first lego build ive had that has one of these augmented reality apps for it, so was really interesting to get it installed (its on the app store and play store). Easy to use, quick to set up and some nice multuplayer gaming. You basically shoot ghosts, and as it was on my phone i couldnt really take a picture to show you , but it really is one of the coolest things ive seen added to a lego build. Gives it more of a play factor for kids who maybe would be bored once its finished.Ive included a timelapse of me building it.

I gave this Lego set to my 9 year old grandson for Christmas and he absolutely loved it. He is an avid Lego fan and has collected so many Lego sets, but this was the first one he had that actually comes to life when it's built. So, this is a haunted fairground with a roller-coaster and all sorts of movable special effects, and action figures which you can use to explore and have battles with other players. He had already heard of Hidden Side and apparently he's wanted this for ages so he was really excited. It didn't take long to download the app onto his iPad. He's still experimenting with the game itself but seems thrilled with it. Apparently there are other Hidden Side Lego sets to build,so that's something else for him to collect. They are a bit pricey at nearly £45 but would make a special birthday or Christmas gift, or something for a child to save up pocket money for. Anyway, he's very happy with it.

Wow. Just wow. This is a thing of beauty. Not only do you get s highly detailed Lego kit of a haunted fairground, which is admittedly a very cool thing in itself, you also get an Augmented Reality app to add an extra dimension. Which it certainly does! Fabulous in every respect, this is top notch Lego. Brilliant modelling and creativity, but also excellent playability. For those who don't know, there is also a comic to accompany this series, aimed at younger children, with added stories and character content. Worth getting! But let's talk reality here. Lego has two audiences, child and adult. And this one pleases adults mightily. The haunted fairground concept is far more appealing to adult nostalgia and the whole AR makes this an adult thrillride. You don't need s child to enjoy this: just get it ! Yes, that's you, putative adult in the corner: Be Loud. Be Proud. Be Lego!!

My nephew who is 9 years absolutely squealed when he saw this. His words were - 'my dream come true, I can use my phone with lego!!He invited friends over for a full on Lego hit, age ranged from 8 -12 and they spent hours totally enthralled. I looked at the build and thought I'd never put it together also thought maybe using a phone app with Lego seemed a bit wrong, Lego has always had its own identity and attraction. Glad to say I've been proved wrong, the build was sorted comfortably by the above age range and the addition of hunting ghosts on a phone app actually gave Lego a different feel. This has been a massive hit with my nephew and his friends.

The Lego Hidden side sets are a set of spooky sets come together to create a fun and cute looking haunted town. The locations have haunted hidden features and all are brought further to life when viewed through the free Hidden Side app. This app allows you to find and hunt ghosts and adds a fun bit of AR to these sets. I've played it previously with the Haunted Highschool and the Train and they work well. The younger members of the family have been really amused find and battling the spooks. This one is a fun build and not too big or taxing, definitely one those at the younger end of the 8 and up range can enjoy.

This was a great one from lego. Always good quality parts correct difficulty rating. It took two children around three hours to build. Its dose not just sit there like other lego it has moving parts and can be played with. The fun didn't stop there if the app is downloaded you can interactively play a game with the lego. It was great and didn't take up lots of space either the fair is the second largest set of this wave with around 466 pieces. Includes 5 Minifigures: Jack, Parker, J.B., Jimbo Loblo and Terry Top, multiple players get to enjoy epic battles against Tragico the Clown

This Lego scary funfair is fun to build and my daughter really enjoyed doing that. The instructions are clear and the bricks are of high quality. The finished creation is impressive. This set comes with an augmented reality so you put an app on to your phone which will produce ghosts and games when you point it at the Lego.

My son loves the new haunted fairground set, but he’s disappointed that it doesn’t come with a soul artefact. He has the graveyard, the high school, the wrecked shrimp boat, the shrimp shack and the lab, all of which have a soul artefact, so he was expecting one with this set.

The play features are great and since I am collecting all the hidden side sets this was an exceptional add-on to my colection.

Well worth the money grandson age 8 has had hours of enjoyment out of this hidden side with the app.
