This is a lovely first duplo set - enough blocks to build something but not too many to be complicated. This set creates a little farm building with opening door/windows (these are a real favourite to play with as the various figures can be put inside and taken out again over and over again) There are the farm animals cow, chicken and sheep which are great for making animal noises with, and 3 blocks with the animal's produce: milk, eggs and wool, which is lovely for talking about what farm animals are for (without having to go into the whole eating them discussion!) .There is also a little boy and girl and feeding trough. Plenty in this set to inspire first games! Building with the blocks develops problem solving, spatial awareness shape and colour recognition and imaginative play. They are definitely an educational as well as fun toy, and one that older children can play with alongside their little brothers or sisters.Like all duplo sets this toy is well made, and durable. It's no surprise that duplo blocks have stood the test of time and are still favourites with little children today. They also have a good re-sell value once your child has outgrown them, although we've already decided that they are one of those special toys that will one day go in the loft for the prospective (very long way away as our little one isn't yet 3) grandchildren! While all duplo sets say ages 1 1/2 -5, I would think this particular set would be at the younger age as it is a smaller set. As an infant teacher I can testify that children up to at least 7 still enjoy duplo, although they tend to need more blocks and characters to build more complex designs and keep them entertained. This is definitely a set you could add to over the years with more pieces which would grow with your child.

I'm a massive fan of lego and so is my son. It's the ultimate toy as far as I'm concerned - it packs away, it isn't massive and a huge waste of plastic, it's reusable, it can be repurposed, any set can play with another, and it doesn't restrict you to playing with it in one way like a lot of these giant plastic toys these days do.Same goes for duplo. We have a lot of it around, and even though he's graduated largely on to lego (notably "city") he was still very excited about the arrival of a duplo farm. And he's played with it for ages. The set itself doesn't have that many pieces, it's on the smaller end for a duplo set and appropriately priced. The barn is simple and "one dimensional" and there are a handful of animals and "produce",and a couple of people that seem oddly shorter than usual. The set does allow you to teach a child that chickens lay eggs, cows make milk, all of which our toddler knew, but I was surprised to find he had no idea where wool comes from. One fact noted from the product page here on amazon is the "not suitable for children under 36 months". Well hopefully that will be corrected as to my knowledge that's a data entry error! So in summary it's another great set but let's be honest, if it's a gift, fine, but if you're buying it for your child, it's just the beginning, prepare yourself for years of buying lego sets!

For many, Duplo is seen as the poorer cousin to LEGO, but for anyone with a young child prone to shoving things in their mouth, nose or ears; they are great toys. Duplo is designed for a pre-school audience that still likes to play with bricks. The ‘DUPLO My First Farm’ is a great example of this as it is a great toy, but also has a little more added educational element that the majority of LEGO simply does not have. This set contains the building blocks for a small barn, a couple of characters some animals and some special blocks. The blocks have pictures on them that correlate to the animals – learning that milk comes from a cow is important, but here it is also fun.As with all Duplo, this pack is colourful and well made. The blocks are chunky so you can’t eat them, but light enough that they don’t cause too much damage should they be thrown. There are not really enough blocks in this pack alone to come up with too many new creations, but remaking the little barn or outhouse is repeat fun and the animal models are great. An older child may want more bricks to play with that are contained in this pack, but for the target audience of 1.5-5 years old, this is an ideal collection as it is great fun, but also stealthily educational.

This is my first opportunity to review product from this seller and so far I am happy with the brand in general. I would recommend LEGO products and I would buy it myself in the future. The toy arrived quickly and I was immediately impressed by the quality, build and bright colors of this very well made LEGO DUPLO 'My First Farm' Toy. My daughter who is nearly 2 absolutely loved it. Though I think the toy is made for bigger kids age 3 and above who are already able to join the blocks and create buildings my daughter still enjoys and playing it her way, discovering different colours, learning about shapes, counting and trying to join blocks together. The package contained building blocks,3 farm animals, boy and girl figures. It also contained a small book with pictures, so you can get an idea of what you can build or create your own figures. I think the quality of the toy is also very good and blocks seems strong.I can definitely recommend this toy 5* from me ,it can bring hours of play for your child. I think it would make a nice gift too.

I purchased this set for my 2 year old nephew for £11 and felt it was very good value for money. My son had a lot of Duplo as a young child and I always found it to be good consistent quality and very pliable for small hands. This set is great for a young animal lover. It comes with a boy and girl figure as well as a chicken, sheep and a cow. There are 21 brick pieces that include a 2 x 2 block that has a picture of a milk jug, wool and knitting needles and eggs. There are three doors along with three frames for the doors to attach to. I like this farm in the sense that there are different ways to build the barn up to make different style barns. It's good quality and I got it for what I felt was a great price,my nephew loves animals so I am excited to give him this set. I'd highly recommend to someone looking for construction style toys for a young child. I feel they're best for 18 months to 3-4 years.

As with all Duplo sets, they're quality, well-made blocks which fit together nicely. My 2 year old enjoys building things with the blocks, enjoys opening the doors and placing things into the cubes (sometimes the supplied animals/people, sometimes entirely random other toys, Matchbox cars etc) and especially loves deconstructing our creations with vigour!I like the inclusion of the animals and blocks with the "product" we get from them (e.g. a cow and milk, a sheep and wool, a chicken and eggs) so you can introduce some education on farms and animals as you play. There's enough pieces that you can build various designs of farm and let your imagination flow, and of course combine with other Duplo sets for even more creative options.Interesting tidbit: conveniently, MegaBloks fit onto Duplo blocks (but not vice-versa), so you can create some strange hybrid creations :)

This is yet another fantastic Duplo set. It's small enough to be suitable to buy as a gift but also forms a great introduction to duplo or a great addon for an existing set. It's a nice solid little set and the pieces, as always, are high quality and well built. These will take some serious abuse I've no doubt. By abuse I mean play lolIt's reasonably educational too. There are 3 animals and corresponding bricks showing their produce ie eggs. I really like this as our lo is learning all the noises so it ties in great.Brilliant set. Can't recommend this set, and indeed all Duplo highly enough

This is an excellent addition to your DUPLO collection. You (or perhaps, Benjamin) can create a reasonable looking farm scene from this set - and there are lots of farmyard style blocks - eggs, milk, wool etc. Good for talking about. Two farmers are supplied along with a calf, a sheep and a chicken (which produce the items on the blocks mentioned above)... Cunning! As always these are perfectly made (this is LEGO after all) and fit in with all your other DUPLO bits and pieces.I also recommend the "My First Tractor" set which complements this set with a tractor, more blocks

Excellent set, albeit small, that encourages open-ended play. The farm set comes with enough animals and animal products (bricks with wool, eggs and milk on them) to make playtime fun and educational. The doors/windows on the 3 large "building" blocks are great for children in that stage of wanting to put things in boxes and the addition of base plate and drinking trough are a nice touch. Just because it's made of Duplo doesn't mean it can't be used with other toys or in other scenarios.I can see that this will be enjoyed for many years to come!

Purchased for a friend's one year old whose six year old sibling put together and declared it was now their present! They both had fun playing with the set and I was able to explain how milk comes out a cow and ends up in a bottle, and how we get wool from a sheep. So an educational toy too.The one year old was identifying the animals and had fun playing hide and seek with them in the barn. You won't regret purchasing this and a lot cheaper than elsewhere.

My nearly-two-year-old loves these brightly-coloured farm animals and blocks. You get a good number of bricks in the box, including some general shapes that can enhance buildings more generally, if you wish to combine them with bricks from other sets. The windows are a particular favourite of my son. There are a few educational bricks, which have pictures of respective produce from the various animals on the farm, which is a nice touch too.

My 2 year likes this set - particularly the animals. He's not too bothered by the building itself. It's a nice set. Simple enough to be easy to put together (with or without help) and lots of little details and extras for exploring, asking parents about and so on. I do feel though that a 5 year old would be too advanced for this set but for the younger ages, it's brilliant, so recommended for the 2-3 bracket.

Kids all love it-- added brilliantly to our growing collection of Duplo. Lends well to building all sorts of other amazing structures besides a farm too....I think the biggest hit are the extra deep windows with the fancy doors (guessing this to be the case as these are what the kids fight over most!). Would buy again--

Bought for our little girls first birthday. Her and her big sister (2) both love it. As you'd expect with Lego, the quality is top-notch. The girls often take it all apart and make various other things out of the bricks but we mostly use it as a farm. Bought with my first tractor and farm animals

21.9.2015

Top rating from me for this set which is flexible in use creative and strong. Probably best for 2 plus age for independent play. Much fun to be had in making the barn into different shapes. It can of course become part of your larger collection of bricks. The excellent price seals.the deal.
