The size of the plates is just right for the 2yr old I bought them for. The plates are a little thin and on on the flimsy side , but that aside , are suitable to be used on a table top. I bought 2 plates , as I thought , if put edge to edge then one long piece of Duplo block could bridge the plates and make one big plate , allowing more scope to '' building'' . This theory has still to be put to the test.I think that the cost of the plate is rather dear for what it is and , if , you only bought one plate , then you have additional cost of the postage . The super save deal was only offered should you have bought 2 plates or more .I have bought far cheaper items , over the time I have been an Amazon customer ,and have been able to use the Super saver option

I bought these at a good price of £7.50 and they are alot larger than expected, great size and easy to build on with Duplo bricks to make houses and a garden, kids love them, I got two and they right away started building onto them and quicker than they would without a base! They are quite flimsy but thats a good thing as been so big they would be easy to break (snap) thinking of maybe getting another two to let them make even larger houses a with a big garden!!The ONLY negative with this was that Amazon sent two in seperate boxes and you could of fit ten of these in each box the boxes was that big,bit of a waste of packaging but doesnt affect the product itself in any way!!Go ahead and buy these for your young ones to have a fun build!

It is tough and hard enough to make a strong and solid platform, yet flexible enough to make it unbreakable - in case accidentally stepped-on etc. I bought two. If you have lego duplo bricks, This is a must have. It not only adds another dimension and opens all sorts of new possibilities but also helps to keep things tidy. Before I bought these, the lego bricks were all over the place. Besides after playing and constructing things, my kids would have to take them apart and replace them in the box. It would often spoil the fun. Now they don't have to do that. They can leave things as they are, simply push them to one corner and continue the next day.It is worth every single penny! Go for it.You would love it.

These bases are really handy to have considering so many Duplo sets do not come with a base plate, but I was surprised at how flimsy this is in comparison to normal base plates (some sets do come with base plates and they are made of the same rigid plastic as the bricks themselves). This base plate is peculiarly thin and flexible, especially considering the price. I have paid £10.49 and it can only have cost pence to make. It is however very good for building on and letting my daughter actually play with her creations without everything falling over, so it is worth having as part of your collection. Unnecessarily expensive for what it is though.

Ordering the baseplate is a must if you are to create your duplo dreams for your toddler child. It gives a stable base for you to help your toddler (mine is two) build houses, farms, zoos...essentially boundaries and stability for their block towers! I wish I had 5 of them. They are well priced and an essential element to the duplo kit. After you and your child/children have created something and it is time for other things, you can pick the base plate up and move it to another area, without pulling his masterpiece down, ready for play action at another time. A must for Duplo users!

This is a simple but great addition to any duplo collection. By providing a base upon which duplo creations can be built it definitely makes duplo go a lot further. My toddler has definitely had more enjoyment out of her duplo since receiving this for Christmas.I'm not sure why I hadn't thought of buying a baseplate before. Base plates are a real must for any duplo fan. It's surprising how much difference it makes to have a base to build upon.I've given 4 stars rather than 5 as it is a little flimsy, but on the whole a great product and I'm very pleased with this purchase.

Yes, this product could be said to be expensive. (I paid £7.99 including Amazon Prime one day delivery.)BUT this baseplate has transformed both how and how often my three year old grandson now plays with his Duplo.I bought him the Duplo Farm set for Christmas and he rarely played with it and always wanted 'help'.The addition of this large baseplate has enabled him to build independently and be experimental with the set. He plays with it now on a daily basis.A really worthwhile purchase - i wish I had bought it earlier!

If you buy a Duplo set, you will inevitably have to purchase a baseplate to secure the bricks and other items onto, to make a village, zoo, market, garage etc.Although the baseplate is a simple piece of punched out plastic, it costs as much as many entire Duplo sets! You'll just have to grit your teeth and buy it - I did, and don't regret it for a moment. Our nearly four-year old twin grandchildren have hours of fun and constructive play with their Duplo set (made up of a large box of bricks with additional market set).

This is an extremely useful addition to any Duplo collection. Not only does it hold bits of Duplo still making them easier to be added to, it encourages 3-D building for children who have a tendency to build 2-D 'towers'.Can be linked together with other plates of the same or different colours to create towns, beaches etc. and stretch young imaginations. Also very useful when you are putting Duplo away. Just stick all the blocks onto the board and you have a solid lump of Duplo, reducing the loss of small parts.

Bought this as it was the first time I had seen a really large base for Duplo - 15" x 15" (382 x 382cm). Great for larger projects - a village, a farm yard, house with garden or any other brilliant idea young children come up with. I bought them (luckily I got 2) from a site in China offering them at less than £6 each and free p&p so couldn't really go wrong. Would be happy paying up to £12 each (same as the 'real' Lego grey baseplate which is the same size). Really good idea.

It is a large flat baseplate for the LEGO DUPLO construction sets. Being green, it suits perfectly to build gardens, parks or playgrounds! It is very useful to assemble big constructions and also to fit lots of characters in the same scenario. However, it has two minor flaws: you can add the pieces only on the top of it (not on the bottom); its height is less then other flat pieces' height, so you cannot connect it with them nor with other standard flat baseplate.

I have bought 6 of these boards! One each for the 3 little boys and 3 to keep at my house so they can have one each to play with "my" lego when they visit me. The big green boards are expensive for one item but they enhance the rest of the lego enabling much more imaginative play. It also aids harmony in that each child makes a part of a creation and then they put them all together to make one big creation. eg 3 animal enclosures make the zoo!!

My wife bought a bag of Duplo from a charity shop for my grandson (18 months old). He loved it but the bricks went everywhere. I found the base plate on Amazon at half the price Lego were charging. What a difference the plate makes. It's big enough for him to create all sorts of different toys, incorporating his cars etc. His manual dexterity, eye to hand co-ordination and imagination all get a boost from this simple fun toy.

My daughters have 4 of these, one that I have paintsprayed blue for playing on ocean/water (I highly recommend other parents to do this). There is no problem that the plate is thin as other writes. The plates have survived 1.5 years of energic play without any signs of wear or tear.Building large zoo, park, playground etc on the plate helps my children play for longer time than on the floor. And less mess.

this is stuff of my childhood - my kids play a lot with Duplo (all children I am minding from 1 year to 9 years), and the baseplate is expensive but well worth it as a base for building houses, towns, gardens, etc and just lift up the whole thing to store it whenever needed for the next day. Also makes a great sweeper for pieces under the sofa...
