I've been really pleased with this for my 16-month-old, and would definitely recommend it for a child growing into Duplo. My son currently also loves Megablox, but they can come apart too easily when building towers, etc., which he finds frustrating (cue angry toddler face!); Duplo is quite reassuring for not doing that!PROS:+ Very versatile. We bought this set for our 3-year-old for his birthday, as he really enjoys playing with Lego Duplo blocks which have previously been handed down to him from his older siblings. Also, having played the Lego Duplo game on the iPad he always wanted the Fire Station set as featured in the app.The build is very simple and the instructions just as simple and clear to follow, though perhaps a bit challenging for a 3-year-old. Once built, it looks good and my child enjoyed playing with it immensely, He also combined his other Lego Duplo blocks to build additional features on top. The fire engine is built very well, its sturdy, solid plastic pieces fit tightly and also includes a siren with flashing lights and sound,

Duplo is perfect for little hands and a great introduction to Lego for little ones. This Fire Station set is brilliant and even has light and sound.The set has 76 piece and includes easy to follow building instructions. All the decorative parts are printed so no tricky stickers to apply and the set even includes two firefighters and a dog. The instructions show how to build the main set pictured but it can also be re-built into another style building if wished.As well as the main fire station there is also a fire truck to build and this has the siren on which is powered by three LR41 batteries which were included and already inside the siren piece.

What can I say about Duplo that hasn’t been said? This is an excellent set and children particularly like the blue flashing lights with sound effects.OK, it’s expensive, but Duplo, like Lego, makes a great investment. The pieces are pretty-much unbreakable, last through generations and hold their value. You can sell, when your children grow older, and recover much of the cost, or keep for your grandchildren.Our grandchildren spend a lot of time playing with their parents' 30-year-old Duplo. We've bought a number of today's sets too and they're fully compatible.This is a perfect first set and I'd agree with the suggested age range of 2 - 5. Even our granddaughter, when barely one,

Firstly, if you are a RUSH fan, like me, you can recreate the SIGNALS lp cover. Unfortunately, the dog is moulded and his head cannot be moved.THINGS YOU ALREADY KNOW... 1.Duplo is a great building toy 2. it can be used with standard Lego for added fun. 3. Duplo is a great introduction to Lego and this fire station themed set has been a great hit with my children. Some of which are well into their lego having been introduced to the bricks with my own duplo sets of old. However, for my younger ones this is great. The set has easy to follow instructions and a variety of figures to compliment the station. Quite what the pizza part is I don't know but who cares. The set is well made, up to the standards you would expect from Lego and as is additionally the case you can just put the figures together with your imagination and make what you want. This is a quality set and duplo is a quality toy. You can feel how well made it is. It will last and last.

My little one already has a Duplo Police Station set and this complements it perfectly. There are different options for building the station but we went with the large connected option. Little one loved helping to follow the instructions and helping build it up - a nice experience to share together. There are nice accessories included, such as a fire station dog, fire hydrant, fire engine, hand-held fire extinguisher and campfire. The two figures can be used to facilitate imaginative play and my little one has had great fun exploring the set and imagining different scenarios. The fire engine even has a working siren replete with flashing lights to ensure authenticity.

My nephew has accumulated loads of Duplo but this set stands above the rest due to the excellent fire engine which has flashing LED strobe lights and a siren. I must admit, I was impressed with the lights myself as they actually strobe like a real emergency vehicle, not just flash on and off. Also, the lights are not fixed, so they can be used on different vehicles. The siren isn't very loud, but good enough and doesn't get annoying. As usual with Duplo sets, there's not many bricks but my nephew is happy with the small building and unique accessories.I would highly recommend this set if your kids like emergency vehicles and/or flashing lights.

Duplo, generally, is not that flexible, or didn't used to be. However, nowadays the newer sets are coming with more adventurous pieces and a bit more variety which is good to see, especially for kids who are older but still not quite at the age of being able to play with proper lego safely, while they're eyeing up the amazing variety of pieces in normal lego. So it feels like this is kind of a halfway house really, it's almost like a duplo version of the fire suitcase set you can get in lego juniors.We really like it, it's probably the best small(ish) duplo set we've seen.

This fire station themed Duplo set is of the usual Duplo quality. Duplo never gets old and my kids play with my old Duplo when they visit their grandparents.My kids had a ball making the fire station, and then stuffing it with animals from their other Duplo sets! This one has a battery powered siren, which is a first for me in a Duplo set. I don't think it adds much value but I guess it is a gimmick to help sell the set.You can't go wrong with Duplo and this set is a great example of its timeless quality.

Got this as a last minute present for my nephew and Amazon makes it so easy to get presents sorted. The price with Prime delivery was the same as I could find in any shop and with gift wrapping (which I hate doing) it was delivered to his door. So much easier than going into town, wrapping then posting. As for the actual Lego my nephew apparently loved it and it was the first toy he wanted to play with. Being Lego DUPLO it is predictably good and you pretty much can't fail with it as a present.

For a 2.5year old boy, he has a new favourite toy... the fire engine. It has light and sound effects which is great. The duplo is compatible with other similar items.The colours are bright and vibrant and plastic is hard wearing... survived a few drops already.It’s good it has a creativity side when building the fire station, but for my son... he’s only interested in the fire engine. It’s a shame this didn’t come with just the fire engine.Nevertheless, it’s a hit.

Really easy to put together - although easy for adults. My 2yr old still struggled. This is a nice fire set with a reasonable sized building and fire engine. The engine has functioning blue flashing lights and sounds (sound is a bit weak and annoying) and little white pull out drawers for 'equipment'. Overall one of Lego's nicer Duplo sets and it's fire engines. Kids love fire engines.

This is up to legos usual very high quality standards. It's well made and bright and engaging for the little ones. Nice chunky pieces so easy to grip and so much fun to build the one on the box or to hell with it and build whatever you like. It comes with the batteries needed for the fire truck and sounds and looks great when on. We love this set.

Love the duplo fire station which I bought for my 2 1/2 year old. She is a bit young to assemble the complete station herself but had fun playing with it when it was all set up. The fire engine lights make a sound and flash. The sound is quite mild and not annoying like some electronic toys.
