I was happily walking around Florida on holiday with the Mrs, patting myself on the back for not spending like a wild man! Then I saw this! Instantly, my mouth went dry, my hands started to shake. My underpants became tighter at the back due to enlargements in the front and I knew instantly... My sideboard back in England was soon about to look awesome!My Fiancé sensed my excitement. She knew that this bearded freak... This man child she had come to accept as her future sensible husband, had found himself a new toy. She tried a diversion. Taking my hand and trying to lead me away. But it was like pulling the hand of the Winston Churchill statue in Parliament Square! I was not moving!I would not flag or fail! I would go to the end! I would never surrender! That box of black bricks would soon be mine!By now, the Wife to be had given up. I told her I deserved this! I had walked around that torturous hell hole they call "Disney's Magic Kingdom" until my legs wore down to resemble those of Oscar Pistorius! Stood in ride queues while the sun had dissolved my outer layers of skin and replaced it with blisters. Dodged thousands of mobility scooters that carry the obese around. Listened to Zipadee doodah until my ears bled! This was payback! This was payment for my suffering! I marched up to that box, knocking innocent by-standing excited kids out of the way. I ruined the snap happy Japanese woman's 120th photo of the box, and I yanked it from the shelf! Item bought!So now me and the woman I am with are not really talking. She was annoyed because she had eyed it as a potential Christmas present and I had ruined it! Well tough. I'm not waiting til Christmas!I'm walking around Downtown Disney with this box thats half the size of me! (Half as god damn heavy too). Kids are looking at me in envy, and I'm slipping them the old "hahaha, in your face kid you stinking little brat" face while the parents aren't looking! But the Girlfriend is now not talking to me! I'm asking "Wanna got for something to eat" and she's all "Do whatever you want to do. Don't you always?". Instantly, I'm regretting... Ever coming on holiday with her! So back to the Hotel in an over priced, over friendly taxi. Once back, I realised that the box was as big as my suitcase! So I'm thinking... What can I get rid of? With a day left til I flew back, I was already packed. So I had to decide what wasn't travelling back with me, and what wasn't! First things first... Socks! Got a million pairs back at home anyway. Then underpants! All worn, and if customs held them up to the light, they would see that the toilet tissue in Disney's theme parks are not of the highest caliber... Out they go! Long story short I arrive home with no underpants, no socks, no toothpaste, deodorants or shampoo. Just a suitcase full of bricks, and a couple of t-shirts.So, an hour after landing back in the UK, I'm sat unhygienically on the dinning room chair with cold feet, dog breath, onion pits and filthy hair, putting together this awesome set! There I sat for the rest of the day, and part of the next day, assembling this work of art! This genius! It now sits on top of my sideboard looking as good as I knew it would! £130 well spent!

As a batmobile, since its first introduction to the world of movies goers and batman fans. The Tumbler wasn't any batmobile before.It was gutsy, radical in design, its was defiantly military... But, to myself, it wasn't a batmobile.As such when LEGO introduced this model, my son who is batman and lego mad, also didn't take to this being both a batmobile and a UCM Lego model.2 Christmas's went by, each Christmas I hinted at the Tumbler, but each Christmas there was a more interesting Batman/ DC Superheros model that my son preferred. This last Christmas 2015, it was the JokerLand model that was on his Christmas list, there was the optional choice of the Tumbler, but no,it wasn't of interest.Then in mid Feb-16 he came home from school, exclaiming that the "Tumbler" had been retired, it was unexpected especially with the release of the new Superman/ Batman film.All of a sudden, panic stations, guilt trips and all crept in as I tried through desperation to get a Tumbler from anywhere for my son, eBay and amazon had all sold out, then I managed to find one in a local store!I end up giving this Tumbler to my Son at Easter, it was a REAL SURPRISE for him, he may be 17+ but it was one of the best gifts I could have given him, as I had the pleasure of introducing him to Batman when he was 6-years old via the Batman Animated Series.As for the LEGO Model, it seems my love of the original series, animated series and subsequent films meant I had overlooked the Tumbler.I have to admit, that the LEGO Tumbler is an amazing UCM Model, and at its pre-retirement price of £159 was a steal! That's if you compare it to more recent Batman UCM models, where LEGO now so it seems has gone over zealous with their prices capturing the imagination of the over 50/60's with the original TV batmobile and Batcave, that isn't really a UCM model, more of a series of part models that makes a Diorama...The LEGO model took us 3 days to build over the Easter Holidays, it now has pride of place amongst my son's extensive lego Batman models.A Great model, that we both nearly missed out on.

The set itself is fantastic! I did buy the set elsewhere, and paid a little bit extra for it, simply because I wanted it! So regardless of other feedback on here about the price, if you want the set and are unable to get it from lego directly - Which is often the case, then yes, look elsewhere! Even Amazon. But do not let the price, within reason, put you off - Regardless of where it is bought from, the set is worth it to any serious Batman fan and Lego fan!Anyway, back to the set - which is what this review is all about!The set is, simply, unbelievable! The detail they have gone into for this set is exceptional! From the custom Tumbler wheels to the plaque on the display stand for the Minifigures - Joker and Batman!I am tempted to upset my wife and buy a display case for it! Quite simply, this should go down as one of the best sets Lego has ever produced! The set takes around, well, it took me about 7 hours to build, that was with my 3 year old son wanting to help as well! Although build time, I would imagine, would take about 4 to 5 hours for a reasonably experienced builder, maybe even less! There are a few little, what shall we say, a few little minor details not quite right but who cares! This is the Tumbler! And it's Lego! If you are a fan of the Batman Dark Knight trilogy, buy it! If you are a lego fan and you like the idea of owning a UCS set, buy it! If you are a lego and Batman fan, then why are you reading this? Go! Buy it!!! Pain and simple! Happy building!!!!

My friend was extremely happy to receive the big heavy box. The design of blocks are so sophisticated and solid. It's just a simply magic box that no man will resist to love it more. Plan to buy one more soon for my nephew.

I wanted to buy one of these when they were first released but forgot. Had great fun building it. A little expensive but I could have saved a lot of money buying it earlier. So it's my own fault. Buy lego early to avoid paying more money at a later date.

I gifted it and the recipient was delighted. The building process was tricky but rewarding and the final built product is of high quality and looks it too. The size is substantial and it reflects the actual Batman Tumbler very well.

Amazing looking Lego version of the iconic Tumbler from the Dark Knight series of batman films. This is a long and interesting build, thousands of parts, I really enjoyed putting this together over many nights.

Brilliant gift for lego\batman fans. I bought pre-owned so would have preferred it to be fully deconstructed as quite a complicated build.

Great build, looks the part and with the two exclusive min figures it's a collectors dream. Only £159.99 at the lego shop too. Bargain :-)
