My middle two sons, aged 5 and 6, sold some of their old toys and saved up to buy the Lego Batcave so they were overwhelmed with excitement and anticipation when the large Amazon box containing it arrived. My four boys are all Lego fiends and the middle two are superhero nuts so this entire series of Lego sets is perfect for them. As always with Lego, the instructions were clear and easy to follow and the boys had a lot of fun constructing the set and seeing the Batcave gradually take shape. They needed a bit of help with some of the more fiddly bits but otherwise they found it easy enough to make almost entirely independently and they never got bored once despite there being lots and lots of building stages. They were also super-excited every time a new minifigure appeared in a bag. They absolutely love the Batcave and have spent several hours already playing with it, imagining adventures for Batman and Robin and staging battles between the superheroes and supervillains. Like all Lego, this set has immense play value and - despite the hefty price tag - represents value for money if your children, like mine, love Lego and superheroes in equal measure. Only two things made me hesitate about giving this product 5 out of 5: the first is the stickers. I really do wish that Lego would print onto more bricks as the stickers are too fiddly for children to manage and are also not as robust as the bricks they are stuck to. The second is that some of the elements within the Batcave are a bit tricky for little fingers to operate, namely the lift in which the Bruce Wayne figure "changes" into his Bat suit and the cell for containing Poison Ivy, especially the latter since it seems to break to pieces every time they open the bars. These are my niggles, however, and not those of my children who are entirely delighted with their purchase.

this set says it is for 7-14 years but it was bought for our 4 year old who absolutly loves it he is currently about half way through building it (we let him do it all on his own but in short spells to maintain concentration)HE LOVES ITBatman Robin AND Bruce Wayne all in one box shame the baddies are bane and poison ivy as because this is obviously a tie in to the lego batman2 game it would have been even better if lex luther and joker were the baddies included but that is just me being pickyif you have ever played with lego you know what your getting a very detailed and well put together set the part that allows bruce wayne to turn into batman is brillianti do agree with some other reviewers tho there could have been less stickers with more direct printing on pieces (i assume this was an economic decision tho but for a seven yr old then it wont be a prob) definatly a great purchase well worth the expense and if the included baddies were changed then it would be worth another £10 on top

This set captures some of the design reminiscent of the 60's Batman tv show which is my favorite (probably because I'm getting old). The included figures are great, if you like Batman, I cant imagine one not liking these figures. For some reason Lego adds sheets of stickers to these sets which to start with is a bit cheap, but to make matters worse they're more or less see-through which really takes away the vibrant colors you see on the package which is a shame, they're way duller than you'd expect. If they'd just start printing the bricks instead of these lame stickers (which will peel off over the years, because of sunlight, or because they become brittle of old age) this set would be awesome. Now it's just a really nice set. I chose to take it apart and add everything to the older Lego Bat cave set which is now EPIC if I do say so myself :)

We wondered when the next lot of Batman Lego would hit the shops, especially as we have two young sons (7 & 5) who love Batman and have also really enjoyed the Wii Batman game. It turns out there is a new Wii Batman game being released in the summer, thus the lego is out now. This set is excellent, yes expensive, but it is good. When you first receive the box, it is relatively small, you wonder is the premium price worth it - I think the answer is yes. The Batcave is excellent and the lift where Bruce Wayne changes into Batman is quite clever and the figures are excellent. My 7 year old plays with it very well, although the 5 year old does find it a little fiddly and frustrating at time (it is aged 7 - 12 I think).

For the amount of figures included and the complexity of the finished build this has to be one of the best value Lego kits around. My kids are crazy for the Lego Batman game on the Xbox so they just had to have this to go along with their game play. They swap between the game and the lego all the time and love reinacting scenes from the game with the figures. As with a lot of Lego kits, you (Dad) will need to do a fair amount of rebuilding as they almost seem to be created more as display models but to be fair, you couldnt get the level of detail if it didn't have some smaller parts and more intricate blocks. So keep the instructions!Great kit overall and I would recommend it to anyone.

My boys have had hours of fun with this and I am sure will continue to for a long time. Neat characters and kept even my super 7 year old busy for a few hours putting it together!! The 4 year old I bought it for will be able to play with it for years. As always with lego, pieces were all there and spares, and instructions nice and clear.

Our seven year old got this for his birthday and loves it. His favourite thing to play with is the lift where Bruce Wayne changes to Batman and the bat bike. There is a good amount of Lego in it for the price and the mini figures are great. He prefers the black suit for Batman but admits it's good to have a change.

I often think that Lego is expensive, but when I compare how much he plays with Lego compared with his other toys, you realise that per hour, it is actually well worth the money. He loves this set, and he's in his own little world when he's playing with it. A great buy.

Bought as a gift for my grandson. He was very happy with his gift. The box unfortunately was slightly damaged and looked like it had been opened before so I am waiting for confirmation that all the pieces were delivered. Apart from that was happy with purchase.

My 5 yr old son loves this. He built it with very little help - the instructions were really clear. I only got to do the stickers, which are also good quality. This is now his favourite toy, he plays with it as soon as he comes home. Excellent value for money.

The product was very good but the communication by Hermes was poor and I had to take time off work to receive the parcel .they left no contact details and ignored a letter I left asking them to go next door. For my neighbour to take delivery and sign

Bought this for my grandson as he loves anything Lego. It was well packaged but it contained quite a lot of smaller pieces, i don't think my grandson is quite ready for such small pieces, not manufacturers fault, mine for buying this set too soon.

Took a risk buying this for my 10 year old son as most of his Lego is Star Wars but when he opened it he loved it, has kept him quiet for a couple of days although there are a couple of bits he needed help to put together (he isn't very patient!).

I think my kids now have all lego batman and dc heros sets so no more sets please as its getting expensive, however easy to assemble and always cheaper with Amazon compared to other shops, so Amazon is always my first stop for bits.

Really good play value, my boy loved the magic changing lift. Took my 7 year old a few hours to build by himself but he was very proud of himself once he'd managed it. He then proceeded to play with it for hours!! Really good set!
