[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My son is a young 7 year-old. I thought this would be okay for him, but it was a bit more challenging than I thought. It really is for a child who is excellent with legos or is 8+ like it says. You need all of the pieces and they are not broken up in an orderly way so that adds to the challenge. I did complete this one right after helping my 3 year-old do one for her age, so maybe I liked less of a challenge, lol. I love how creative you can get with this set. It’s like you have 3 sets for the price of one. We’re a big science family, so the three space vehicles are awesome! When you have them built too they are pretty sturdy to play with.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My son (5) recently started playing with Legos because a neighbor kid (10) is really into them. So I got this set so they could build together. What a fun set for them! They spent all day building and taking them apart to build the next model. By far their favorite was the Rover! All the little details on and in the rover made it so realistic and fun. They both were cracking up at the little coffee pot inside on the counter. "Look mom, something for you!" The moveable crane was a hit as well and it let their imaginations run wild. A "moon surface" was made and the rover was traveling over it with the alien trapped in the arm at one point.

After buying another space set for my son (Mars research 60226) I decided to treat myself for a more advanced kit for myself.All three builds are a lot of fun to put together and open up some great options for playing. I put it together myself while watching TV in the evening, but although the build time is long they should be fine for younger children to do with some help.The big space rover build is the star of the show and has a lot of potential for imaginative play. It was also a great fit for my son's new space shutttle. All three builds are fairly sturdy so good for younger kids to play with.

My three and a half year old took 10 hours to build this, with a fair amount of coaching.He loved every step. Wherever we stopped in the build there was something fun to do. From tickling the alien, doing dentistry with the cute rover on the alien, to flying around on a quick build machine.The detail on this is fantastic, I particularly like the articulated suspension. He loves picking up the Oxygen cylinders.The only let down with this build is the manipulators on the front, they are so woefully short, they might as well not be there.I can't wait to build the other builds.

There is so much more to this set than you'll get by looking at photos. The designer(s) really added a lot of style to the main build. Some of the little design elements impress me; like the few extra pieces they added to shape the rear of the main windows and the details added to the wheel hubs. Not to mention the above-average interior. It really comes alive with detail that has me inventing little stories to go with it. There is way more to it than there needed to be (which is a good thing).The rear-mounted lifting arm (with items to move around) is a great addition.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Space Rover set was used by my sons to make some LEGO stop motion shorts. I appreciated the versatility of allowing three separate toys to be built: a rover, a space base, and a flyer. There’s also an Astronaut mini figure. I love that LEGO remains a classic toy to encourage hands on play, but that they are incorporating forward thinking themes such as space exploration. LEGO will forever remain a timeless toy in our house and a nice family activity that everyone can enjoy.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The green alien creature is possibly my favorite Lego accessory I've ever built! This rover was so much fun to build and I love the flexibility in the 3 in 1 sets. It's such a fun way to make Lego building last as long as possible. The rover bot is also cute as can be and the perfect addition to the set. The mechanical arms are functional and fun. The space rover even includes a coffee pot! As always, Lego hit a home run on bringing imagination to life.

This is a great Lego set as you can build 3 different models with it. I especially love the space station as it’s very detailed and interactive with sliding doors and levers. My son is 7 and so needed help with bits but he was keen to build it all. I think the age rating is accurate and towards the younger end will probably need adult help with some parts. Great quality and sturdy when built. My son loves playing with all the different models. A great set to keep children occupied for some time!

I chose this due to its space theme which my 7 year old loves and thought it would hold his interest. I understand the age range is 8+ so thought we could make it a fun exercise. Truth is he really struggled with the very small parts, you need to make sure your fine motor skills are finely tuned for this one! That is not to say there are not other 7 year olds out there that could manage.Despite his lack of interest, I continued. It is pretty addictive. I so far have managed the 1st item of 3.

Pros: hours of fun. Great Lego quality that you expect. Once built good size for playing. Instructions easy to follow. Price reasonable. Cons: several different bags with Lego in it however all bags need to be opened to built any one toy. All bits in one bag would have been less confusing. Once the item is built it makes it tricky for little or big hands to get into it to play with controls however the front and back bit comes off easily for child to access the inner cab.

Excellent build! My 6 year old loved building this, the little details really make it special. It’s very interactive with removable doors and escape hatch are very unique. Excellent instructions as always from Lego. We particularly like the 3 in 1 sets as it gives you the flexibility to modify & change your build. My son opted to make the cute little bug instead of the alien & there was still bits left over. Highly recommend!

They sat at the table for hours having so much fun building and playing with their other Lego space sets . I love all the detail and quality put into every LEGO set. I love how educational and fun Lego is. I highly recommend this set to all parents.

A good set that kept my 14 year old son busy for quite a while. It can build 3 different models so it is versatile and good value. There are a lot of parts but it comes with a very large, detailed, instruction book. It's a good idea to get all the parts organised before you begin as they come in different bags. It's great for keeping yourself or your kids occupied, would definitely recommend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this Space Rover for my son who has recently developed an interest in Astronomy. He enjoyed putting it together and is excited to rebuild it into the other two configurations. We use Legos as therapy tools for fine motor coordination so it's nice to have something he wants to build!

It also comes with a bonus astronaut minifigure. I highly recommend this set for anyone who loves creative building and space.
