Even with a lot of pieces involved, with some help, my dextrous five-year-old grandson constructed the propeller plane (one of three in this set). I like that the set encourages interest in both the building and "flying" of the planes. It also has the capacity to inspire talk about how planes fly, what kinds of planes there are (including one from long ago, the propeller plane) and other matters that can interest a young child and be a continuing source of discussion. Being Lego, the planes can't take a lot of playing, but with care the set holds together nicely. My grandson loves it, and it's a contrast to some of the other sets he loves, including Star Wars.And of course,

Got this for a 4 year old and it is certainly too difficult and fiddly a build for them - but I had lots of fun building the different models, so as a dad it got my thumbs up. At a guess 6 would be an ok minimum age to build without a grownupThe prop plane (on the box cover) is probably the most fun and pretty robust once finishedIt is a great little set of lego and not too expensive. Once bored of the 3 models the parts can be used to build all sorts of plane/ helicopter type things though some of the many tiny parts may well disappear into the vacuum cleaner all too easily

Quick delivery and well wrapped.This was our 7 year old grandson's introduction to the joys of Lego. My husband who chose this set(I suspect because he wanted to play with it himself) sat down to build it and started to explain the instructions to our grandson. Once our grandson realised how easy it was to build he soon became absorbed in it and before long was flying the plane around the room.Well designed toy that didn't fall to pieces when handled. Our grandson is now convertrd to LEGO and busy building the other plane and helicopter. Well worth the money.

My son had this Lego Creator Plane for his 7th birthday over a week ago. He really enjoyed making it and I was very surprised he was able to do this without any help...the intructions are really clear and show which pieces are needed for each stage. (I wish IKEA would have similar booklets!). My son plays with it whenever he has a spare minute with wonderful plane sound effects that little boys make.You can use same pieces to make two other planes.I believe that Lego kits with instruction booklets can help concentration, reading and tactile skills.

I bought this set for my 21 year old son for Xmas, he sat in the corner of the room assembling various planes and we didn't hear a peep out of him for ages, other than he was unable to get the little Lego man to go in the plane! Some readjustments remedied this fortunately and all was well. Lego(voted number 1 in a recent TV top 100 toys)as always is well made, with endless possibilities for imaginative play, you can't go wrong with this as a present for any age, 5-95.

I bought this Lego as a x-mas present and one of the few with a reasonable price. Surprinsingly my 11year son that is a Lego fanatic loved it. we have basically work with the propeller airplane (you can create 3 other models) and the result was full of detail and quite and amazing toy. My son has put it in is special matelpiece together with his Lego Star wars

I bought this for my boyfriend and he loved it, he's a little too old for lego what being almost 20 but he still likes his toys. This would be a good buy for a child as well. It got here quicker than expected and well packaged. Quite a lot of bits as well, takes about 45 minutes to build. Shame it doesn't come with a little man though.

This is brilliant! The planes have retractable landing wheels and are more complicated than the usual small kits. The wings are hinged so they go up and down! This is the best lego kit I have ever made! Sid Bright, age eight.

This was for my grandson who enjoys making and playing with lego. the prompt delivery with in 4 days, meant that he could play with it earlier than planned so a big thank you to you all.
