I bought this on a whim, as a kind of pocket money toy for myself, at the ripe old age of 38. Before this, the last time I'd played with Lego was when I was maybe ten years old, and I was delighted to see that it hasn't changed at all.The kit comes in a plastic "pod" of sorts, and once opened you'll find a plastic bag of Lego bricks and a set of instructions for making the off-roader, plus two other models (for me though the off-roader is the best of the three). The instructions are graphical and very easy to follow, and after ten minutes or so I had the car built, and was delighted with it. The models are all very small - maybe three inches long,if that - and you only have enough pieces to build one at a time (unless you buy more kits!) but they're all great fun to make. There are also some nice touches, such as what it clearly supposed to resemble a bumper or winch on the front, and the bonnet which actually opens (as this isn't a "Technic" set, however, there isn't an engine!) It certainly kept me quiet for an hour or so, and the off-roader is now sitting on my desk at home.Due to the small pieces it's not ideal for small children, but I think the minimum age of 6 as stated on the pack is about right. Maybe extend the maximum age though, say to 38 or thereabouts :-)Great fun, a nice introduction to Lego, and enjoyably educational too. Be careful though - it might be the start of a potentially expensive love affair with Lego. It certainly has been for me!

I've just spent the afternoon with my 3 year old and this kit. The manufacturers recommended age is over 6, and I certainly wouldn't have left my little boy on his own with this as it includes some tiny pieces and would be far too tricky for him, but together, we had great fun. He helped me by picking out some of the pieces that we needed to build each model (there are instructions for 3 variations in the pack), and putting them into place. These vehicles are for the most part symmetrical, so if I did one side, he was able to do the other to match. We chatted about the number of "bumps" on each brick, about their colours, about which design we liked best and so on. He had a bit of a play with each model, then we took the thing to pieces, and put the entire kit back into its sturdy plastic box for another day.An older child could construct the models on their own, and make up their own designs, you could try timing yourself to see how quickly you could build each model, you could see whether you could recreate a design without looking at the instructions!Loads of fun to be had here for less than £4 and we've just ordered the Lego Creator Mini train kit!I would thoroughly recommend this for small people and big ones alike!

Worked brilliantly with a group of teenagers showing them the value of instructions/law/wisdom when i had 2 of these packs one with the instructions and one without. Beyond that i have it on my desk now and have endless fun seeing what i can make. Not what you would expect from a 34 year old but it does take me back!

I bought this for my five year old nephew for Christmas. He was very excited to receive his own lego set and sat down with his uncle and made one of the options that day. He needed a bit of help but was pleased how much he could do on his own and proudly showed us all once finished. A great little kit!

A real return to form for Lego. 3 models in one set means inventive reuse of bricks in each model, and each one is very well designed with some lovely details, like the flip-up bonnet on the truck. The plastic box snaps shut and keeps everything tidy. Unlike the plane in the same series,

These Lego mini kits are brilliant - a return to the old pocket-money size lego kits of the 1980s, but with the added bonus that they come in a carrying case so you can't loose all the bits.
