I'm one of those people who resonated strongly with The Lego Movie and the value of using your imagination and not the Kragle and so most of the Lego my older daughter has is 'maker' the open ended play style where you build whatever even if it is a double decker sofa or from the imagination such as a 'wannaroo' as I was proudly presented with just recently, BUT I appreciate the desire amongst many Lego fans to have an aim or a challenge to build 'this', and then the play factor for those who enjoy playing or making mini movies with their figures etc.This set is the ideal balance between the two or a way to ease into more open construction, instead of aiming to create a single structure and you're done/display it,

I've heard many, ahem, older lego fans bemoan the newer sets with overly specific lego bricks with which you can only build one item. The early lego kits were entirely full of generic blocks that encouraged you to build all sorts of things, rather than one item like some sort of airfix kit. So it's nice to see Lego trying to return to that ideal a bit, and release this set which gives you a few different things to build with the same set.It doesn't quite work, as there are still lots of very specific component here, and the make the different kits work there are a lot of very small 1x1 and 1x2 blocks that wouldn't have been necessary if this was meant to build a single model.

This set has 597 pieces spread over 10 bags, including 3 mini-figures. plus a manual of course. In my opinion the boat is the best model in the set by far (and the only 1 that uses all the pieces bar 1). It was a good fun build, and you also get the little bit of sand with a beach blanket, tree and cooler on it, as well as the sandcastle and jet-ski. If you like the City sets then this will fit right in with them. It uses the S.N.O.T. (Studs Not On Top) method to make the boat more realistic which is nice to see in official sets at last. The other two are small and leave nearly half the bricks left over, which feels like a bit of a rip off for a set that promotes itself as being 3-in-1,

This is an excellent construction experience only let down by the limited number of figuresHopefully distracting youngsters from their phones and computer games, aimed at the 9 – 14 year old, these excellent quality construction blocks create models depicting a cruising adventure holiday. Focusing on the scenes had us all looking forward to a tropical beach holiday. Magical.The three different holiday scenarios are interesting to build so, although we need to keep a close eye on all the tiny pieces, it’s well worth it. We especially enjoyed building the luxury yacht, complete with loo and kitchenette.Lego does construction really well, but the same cannot be said for the figures.

This set has provided hours of fun with three different options to build: a yacht, a beach house or a helicopter. It's better for older children (the set is targeted at ages 9-14) who have more concentration and attention to detail: the pieces are quite small and intricate to build, but the instructions are easy to follow. The boat is our favourite, with a detailed interior, and we enjoyed the little extras that were included, such as the hot dog and soft drink can.You really can't go wrong with Lego and this set would be ideal for the summer holidays. Hopefully a distraction from spending too much time in front of a screen!

An excellent set from Lego and perfect for summer. The 3-in-1 kits are particularly good. If you're concerned they stifle creativity, for many kids it's not the case - mine build the complex models and learn a variety of nifty little tricks and hacks, taking common-or-garden pieces and using them in new ways or at odd angles, and then use those tricks in their own models, which grow in detail and complexity as a result.This particular set is a decent day's challenge. The boat is pretty large and has a detailed interior and removable roof. The alternate kits are also a pleasure to build.

Lego kits these days do tend to be very specific and don't leave much room for more imaginative freestyle building like the lego kits of old, so it's really refreshing that this 'Creator' kit actually allows for 3 completely different constructions.The models look fantastic as well, the yacht in particular is quite intricate and has superb attention to detail and there's a real sense of achievement putting it together.So this kit is a fantastic combination of fun and challenge, and has plenty of longevity thanks to the multiple constructions you can do with it.

Anything to do with Lego is a big plus, but when you have a set that is 3 in 1, it’s a massive winner. Hours of quiet children and adults too. Everyone should experience Lego at least once in their lives.

This is a great lego kit, with loads of cool parts. It gives three suggested builds, but of course you can mix and match the pieces with other kits and the limit is your imagination.

My son is 6. He followed instructions alone and built bottom part of the cruise. I was eager to complete and I finished upper part of the ship. We are very happy with 3 in 1 box.
