TLDR: Buy lego for sure for your child. Among all lego sets, this one purchased at Rs 1750 (after discounts) is best value in terms of number of pieces to money paid. As another reviewer pointed out, my child spends hours (everyday) with her Lego blocks even at three years of age---------------------Review for Lego:- Why Lego:- Schools give verbal learning and mathematical learning apart from knowledge (information) in various other subjects- Anyone who has taken an IQ test knows that spatial reasoning (ability to imagine objects in your head, rotate them, fit them together) is an important part of intelligence.- Lego builds spatial intelligence very well.- For this reason,I prefer Lego freeform building to following a particular set of instructions to build something- I would always recommend Lego Toys, often even before their recommended age.- This is not a starter kit. You need to start with something like easier. Duplo (as it is costly) is not recommended, Instead buy the owl blocks or simple blocks (200+ large pieces) that you get at Spar Supermarket. I'm sure other supermarkets have similar. These are available at Rs 500 or so- It may take your child about 3-6 months to get used to that. Then they may get bored. I introduced that toy at 2.5 years old for my kid.- At first you need to- help your child assemble,- encourage them the first few times they build even silly pieces- give names to things they design- compare them to real world objects- start off by asking them to make houses which are easiest and have any number of ways of making- show them pictures of real world objects and ask make similar (like houses, gopuram, aeroplane, animals)- At some stage introduce the concept of symmetry, like the left should be similar to right- At a later stage introduce the concept of stability, meaning the bottom should be bigger than top- At no point should you expect the object created to be close to the real world object (in our head). It is sufficient that the child can imagine it as similar in their head and create something like that from just rectangular blocksRegarding this model:- With Lego freeform children need not follow instructions but can follow their creativity- I have two Lego sets, the 484 piece Lego 10696. I have now added the 442 piece 10715 to that.- I got that one at Rs 2800 after discounts and this one at Rs 1750 after discounts.- This is very good for number of wheels.CONS:- Sometimes you find that some critical parts to build certain kinds of items are missing. *It does not contain*- Any pieces with human faces. This is a flaw with many Lego freeform sets- It doesn't contain rotor attachment needed to make helicopter with rotating top- It doesn't contain a right angular piece which can change the angle at which one is building- It does not contain a good outer cover so i'm putting the lego pieces (which are easy to lose) in ziplock bags- Lego is by no means cheap as a toy. But they are very good and therefore I still recommend. I wish there are Indian manufacturers for such toys (in future).PS:1. Small pieces (of size 1*1) are dangerous for children under age 5. I have taken them out of the set that child plays with.2. When buying lego first time, always go for "Creative" or "Classic", and don't go for cheaper option in lego. If these are expensive then go for other brands which offer more number of pieces at same price.Disclaimer: Regd photo, some pieces are from the 10696 Lego

Having previously built some of the specific sets with my 6 yr old, I was looking for a box of the old style basic blocks so that he can just construct from imagination. He is into his cars and planes so this set focusing on 'wheels & vehicles' is great for him and gave a decent selection of bricks to explore and create with. As with all Lego, great quality and really imaginative suggestions for builds. Only frustration i have, the same with most Lego sets nowadays, is that the majority of the pack is made up of smaller bricks. Not saying these arent handy, as you always need them, but it seems hard to find a decent pack that allows you to build anything large. Despite this, still a good selection and a pretty decent amount all things considered.

I got this for my nephew who turned 4.He enjoyed making each build, like he enjoys making puzzles.Once he had made them, and broken them, and had mixed them all up, it was time for some imagination. My son and I made some planes, cars, monsters... and my nephew loved all the new toys! It's great because the adults can keep producing new toys for the young child, and as the child grows older, they can start to get creative themselves!!Only weak-point of this set, is that it doesn't have any minifigures. Af the child is just getting into Lego, or you are introducing Lego to the child, it might be worth also giving a minifigure or two with this set. (you can buy 5 pound sets with minifigues in them,or for 3 pounds a minifigure on it's own).

No doubt Lego is been my favorite, and quality is undoubtedly the best. But some parts are missing in my box (10715)Though we managed to get the construction done as we do have some Lego boxes from our earlier purchases. Moreover the same parts are used in more than 1 or 2 constructions.I know there are endless ideas by using the same parts but kids usually insist on making the items shown in the booklet. At least complete pieces for the pictures shown on the box and in the booklet should be provided.Kids usually don't want to dismantle their first construction to complete the second one at least not for the given illustration on the box.

This is a great Lego set. My son has Lego at grandparents' houses and this was a little set for our house. There is a lot of variety in colours, size of bricks, flat boards, wheels, windows etc. My son is 3 years old so is fully supervised when playing, and he enjoys building with this set.The set came with a few extras of the very small pieces which is helpful as these are likely to get lost. You can also combine this set with any other Lego set for bigger constructions. The box it came in is very big for the amount of Lego that comes in it. I've transferred into a smaller portable case.I would definitely recommend this set.

It’s Lego. Everyone loves a bit of Lego and I like the classic packs as they lead to more imaginative builds I feel. But, what you get for the price and size of the box is disappointing. There are ALOT of tiny bits which bulk up the ‘number of pieces’ but don’t really help with making bigger builds. Once all packaging is removed the bricks do look a bit pitiful to be honest. I would really need 3 such boxes to feel like there was a decent collection of bricks for creative building. The variety of wheels is good, but other bricks are disappointing. My son loved the set, but in terms of value for money, i’d like to see more.

Perfect if you want to introduce your little one's to Lego, as this set has wheels for building vehicles. It also has different set's of eyes to make animals with. This is the right kit to start out with for any budding little builder's. The colours in this set are also great for both boy's and girl's alike as it has pink and purple colour blocks, as well as red, grey, green and so forth, so is suitable for both sexes.

I bought this for my 5 year old grandson who is a lego fanatic. He's gotten some theme kits before(Star Wars etc..) but I like these sets that are chock full of pieces that allows you to build anything that your imagination can come up with as well as building the examples shown on the bucket. He absolutely loved this bucket 'o legos! It will be a challenge getting him away from it.

Bought this for my grandson for Christmas, and we love it. It's so much more imaginative and creative than the sets that are specific to a theme today. Also brings back fond memories of my kids playing with lego for hours on end when they were young. Now in their 40's they still enjoy building lego with the next generation. Highly recommend.

My son loves the Lego classics he got for Christmas he’s not stopped building stuff! I’d say for 4 and above it’s brilliant!! Just get lots of tubs to keep the bits in as some are super small so a choking hazard for babies. Can make a lot of thinks with these kits check online for the other creations you can build

bought this when grandson was coming for a visit. He is four years old and his Mum said he was very in to Lego.this set is great because it has a bit of everything and it went down very well. we sadly dont see him often but this will be an everlasting plaything and we can add to it as he gets more proficient.

Brilliant Lego kit to keep the little ones occupied in lockdown. Our son loves playing with it, making new creations. It's highly addictive to adults as we can sit & explore creativity, super relaxing. Excellent build quality & super safe. Highly recommended. Bring it to set free your kids creativity.

My 4 year old granddaughter came for a sleepover and so I bought this in readiness. I was so please she played with the set on her own for ages and then grandpa and me helped her to make some of the items in the pictures, and she was thrilled with them. Brilliant for creative play.

Brought it to teach my grand daughters. They love it. I explained how i did it with my kids but we got a lot more pieces. I have been looking for a set with a lot more pieces to do a lot more like the older days. But still had so much fun with this set that's all that counts .

You get lots of versatile pieces for not very much money. My son was thrilled with it. He has some special sets, but it's hard to build anything other than what's on the box. This is Lego as it should be, using your imagination instead of following detailed instruction.
