This Lego set is one of the larger sizes I tend to get. I’ve got a few over the years and while they’re all quite expensive, some of them are ridiculous (£50 Back to the future set which made just the one car for example). However I feel with a lot of them you’re just paying for the licensing. With Lego city you’re not, and I definitely feel we get more for our money with this set.The aircraft inparticular is very impressive and detailed and the set contains enough elements (with the control tower, car, bike, and figures) for the children to play out stories with it once it is complete. Another benefit from being a more generic ‘Lego city’ set is that it allows for much more imagination during play and can be seamlessly mixed in with other Lego city sets (hospital,fire station etc.)As always, quality is high with Lego. The instructions are good and pretty easy to follow. My son is within the age range suggested (almost 7) but he struggled with the building. Most of that was just down to patience in finding the correct piece. Having said that, I feel there has been an improvement in how the pieces are bagged up which felt like it made things much quicker to find.Overall a great Lego set. One of the best I’ve had for quite a while.

This is a great LEGO set. It has a lot of play value as there are a variety of bits to build in the set. There is the building which is a prison and airport tower. There is a big plane. There is a car, plus you also have a motorbike, jetpack wings and 6 minifigures. So there is lots to do (not to mention the fact that you can use the bricks to build your own creations).The set has lots of good points:* 6 minifigures is a good number.* The plane as an extra vehicle is nice. The plane also opens its undercarriage so the parachute man can skyfall out of it.* The parachute actually floats the LEGO minifigure down (although the parachute is made of fabric and not technically what you would classas a normal LEGO piece).* The prison has a deliberate weak spot so that the jailbreak with the pull of the chain on the back of the car can be effective (this is good design as it is a weak spot but not too weak as to make it come off when you don't want it to).This set doesn't really have too many bad points although it does come with stickers, including a very big one for the Police airport tower, and these would have been better as transfers but never mind. This is still a great toy that my kids love and that LEGO fans should enjoy too.

Lego City Airport.As with all things Lego you can depend on the qualilty of the article. This is what I wouldsay is the starter pack for a larger airport with a variety of models. Within the box you getall the pcs to build the control tower which is 3 sections high. The middle one is for theairport police, with control sect on the top. On the roof you have the radar dish. These sectionsall have doors to allow you to get access to inside. There is also a jail on the ground floor.Also supplied is a car with a chain on the tail to rip the jail open to allow the criminalto escape. Kit comes with an asortment of figures. One of them is a wingsuit flyer, A motorcycle policeman etc.The other two main items in the box are a plane and man with aparachute. The man can be stowed in the base of the plane ready to lauch when needed.I thought it a great piece of kit and can easily be added too. Even on its own there arehours of fun either building it or adding to it when ready. I watched the children over a periodof time enjoy this in their different ways. If they already have other kits these will mesh inwith them very easily.

This Lego set reminds me a bit of LEGO City Police High Speed Chase Car Helicopter Toy - 60138 in terms of it having some similar components, but this is far advanced compared to that one. The similar parts are the robber's red car and the cops and robber figures but this brand new to 2019 set contains some really interesting new elements.First of all, the parachute! It's pretty cool and is designed to actually come out of the hatch at the bottom of the plane. The plane itself is fab too, with lots of detail. I really like the police station too with the satellite dish and the jail inside with a bed and a breakaway wall. Somebody has put a lot of effort into the design and detail of this set.There's also some smaller elements too such as little handcuffs, walkie-talkie and a security camera on the side of the police station.There's a lot to make here, enough to keep any child occupied for a while over the Christmas break (big kids too!) and after its all built lots of fun can be had playing cops and robbers. Lego is just so well made, so easy to build and you can't really go wrong with it.

This is another set in the Lego City line and features a large box with 5 hefty bags of Lego pieces. The parts build up into a combined police station / jail / air traffic control tower, a police motorcycle, a large police aeroplane and sports car. There are 6 mini-figures (4 police officers and 2 criminals). One of the police officers is an air traffic controller, complete with coffee cup and coffee machine, one is a motorcycle rider, one is a parachutist and one flies a jet-pack (strange, but true). The sports car has a chain and hook on the back which can be used to pull away part of the jail cell, thus allowing for all sorts of prison break and police pursuit scenarios.The aeroplane is particularly impressive with a wing span of 37cm and a clever trapdoor mechanism that allows the parachutist to drop from the underside. With enough height the parachute works surprisingly well. Stairs and banisters are beneficial here. Although the parachutist has a tendency to get stuck. However, with tons of detail, accessories and potential stories, this set has a lot of play potential.

This Lego Police Set looks impressive from the start. The sizable box portrays an action scene with all the key ingredients; goodies, baddies, jails, motorbikes, jetpacks, & aeroplane complete with parachute. Fully assembled, the set offers multiple options to stimulate hours of creative-play. As with all Lego, each part of the set is in an individual bag, so you can either gorge on the whole lot at once. Or, do as we did and build it up over time. Having a few other police/urban Lego sets, we found this one was great to play with. A particular highlight was the aeroplane, which is sizable and the parachute which was a huge amount of fun. Especially when dropping it over the bannister & swapping the characters over.Involved, modular and fun. Just perfect.

My 5 year old nephew loves Lego, and seems to have assembled this kit remarkably quickly. He is quite good with Lego, but it also suggests that the age range (6+) is approximate.The box that the kit arrives in is on the large size, but does seem to have quite a few things in it - as other reviewers have alluded to, it has several elements, and so doesn't requite other lego kits to interact with at play time. On the other hand, I believe that there are a number of other 'City Police' kits, as he seems to have amalgamated this one with another one he has, I suppose allowing more elaborate adventures!Consequently I'd suggest that this would make a good starter kit to add more individual kits toin future.

Lego has certainly come along since I was a kid and these sets are amazing for me to see and also see the joy on the faces of my children.The set is much too intricate and complicated for my 4 year old to follow but the bonus is that we get to sit and do it with her thanks to the clear and easy to follow instructions.The detail in the set is astounding with my favorites being the walkie-talkie, handcuffs and security camera close behind the parachute that comes out the back of the planeWhile this isn't a cheap set (no lego is these days) it is more than worth it for the fun and laughter that flows from the potentially endless imagination this generates in my kids

Lots of detail and lots of fun. On the surface, almost seventy pounds is a lot for a not very large box but once you tear open the numbered bags that’s when the magic starts and big things to come in small packages. The plane is huge and the control tower looks way better in the flesh. Love the crim and his moll with their little red roadster, a nice contrast from the blue and white. Lots of features and details from the pull away prison wall to the pilots in their flying gear (two of six figures included). Combines well with the other police inspired sets for all junior coppers out there.

My son managed to build this all by himself (normally he needs help).He really wanted this for Christmas, and well, Santa came up trumps !Lego boxes never look like there is much Lego in them, from the box's pictures.Even me, a Lego fan, from my childhood, I always think it was wasy over-priced.However, helping him build (in the past now, boo hoo !) I am always amazed at the quality.My own Dad just handed me back a box full of Lego from when I was a kid 35-40yrs ago and the quality is still there - and my boys loved some of the vintage blocks, including original Lego Space men.

At this price, there were other sets with 200+ more pieces, more structures, etc. So, the big novelty/selling point for this one was the parachute police officer. However, as the other reviewers already mentioned, the parachute guy is difficult to fit inside the airplane, does not always drop, and the parachute itself does not always open - even if you fold it carefully. By itself, the parachute is a great idea, and actually works - but dropping it from the confined space of the airplane is difficult. Overall, though, my son loves this, so this is just an adult's view of the matter.

This, like all Lego products, is fabulous. Being Lego City it has a lot of components and many different parts to build. This means it provides hours of fun and the satisfaction of having built it is worth it. The instructions are clear, which helps with construction. Some parts are quite intricate, so the lower end of the age range may require some support form an adult or older sibling. This would make a fantastic Christmas or Birthday present. A great kit at a great price

My 4 year old loves this set. He’s taken it apart 3 or 4 times and remade it (with some help). The set has some great features, in particular being able to release the parachutist from the plane. We thought the parachute might just be a gimmick but it’s good quality and works well (been dropped down the stairs many times). Would recommend.

This set is what my grandson wanted for his 6th birthday so of course I bought it for him. He loved it and by the next day had made a start on it with his brother. Kept them busy for some time and then they had the different parts to play with together. Nothing beats a Lego set especially if they don't leave any on the floor!

My grandson absolutely loves Lego and asked me for this 400 piece set. He is delighted with it along with two age 9 + sets from his parents. He and his Dad have hours of pleasure and frustrations ahead of them!
