This lego set is a little bit more pricy than the police set of the same size that i've seen. Don't pay more than $80 for this set. Wait for price to change to around $80. I've been watching for a week now and it started off at almost $100 and went to $81, and is now $79 at the time of this writing. This set is well worth $100, (that's what i paid) but don't. I also saw it on sale at Target in Orlando Florida for $75.The set is awesome. It has a lot of pieces at 752. It has a few unique pieces. The 16x16 dark bluish gray baseplates (it has 3 of them) are a pretty rare piece on Brick Link. The garage doors are crazy expensive on bricklink. Same with most of the windows. All the other pieces i've seen are pretty common. I love how lego adds little things to the set like pans for cooking food, sinks to wash your hands in and out side lights.I always think the buildings without walls look silly but my son doesn't seen to care, and it keeps their piece count down. The truck on this set is a really fun truck. It has an awesome ladder design. The only thing i think they chinked on was a gap in between the rear tires, it's hard to see in the photos but there is nothing there, it's open air and you can see through it. It bothers me because it looks stupid, there should be a red piece there like all the other wheel wells. I'll try to post a picture with what i'm talking about. It would have been an easy fix, but lego often skimps where they can. A must have addition to this set is the 60002 fire truck. With that truck you'll have two different fire truck designs and ladder systems. The helicopter leaves something to be desired but it's a small add-on that my son loves.I'm buying two of these sets and putting them together for a large firestation. I'm going to have 3 double length stalls. I'm also going to buy windows for my walls to complete the fire station. I hate the open walls.O yeah i forgot to mention in all of the pictures onthe box it sure looks like there is a side walk in the front of the fire station included. It isn't. This is kind of decieving. Most lego boxes i have seen show the set with no added on legos, this one doesn't ever. Check the box you'll see what i mean.

Nice LEGO fire station:The truth is, with LEGO, there's no shortage of fire and police sets. In fact, I would argue there are far too many. You'd think that LEGO city is the least safe and most hazardous city in the world based on how many LEGO sets are centered around fire or police themes. In other words, these are the types of sets that are guaranteed to sell well year after year.Having said that, I like this set and I really don't have anything negative or constructive to say. The fire station is nice and has lots of windows which make visibility to the inside of the station possible. The fire truck, the smaller fire vehicle, and the fire helicopter are all well-suited for this set and complement the entire set well. There are ample LEGO minifigs with this set, however, there really isn't anything special or unique about any of their designs. Additionally, there aren't many unique or rare LEGO pieces with this set, which depending on what you're looking for, may or may not matter. The piece count for a set this size is fairly average based on the retail price of $99.99.It's worth noting that this set is retired now, so you're probably going to have a difficult time finding this set for retail price. My recommendation would be to try and find this set for as close to retail price as possible. Long term investment and retail value of fire and police sets tend to be on the lower end, so I wouldn't look to this set for a long-term investment gain.If you found my review helpful, please let me know below. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.Happy bricking!

At seven and, really, for the past year or two now already, Legos have been just about my son's favorite thing. And while his devotion to various Lego lines (Chima, the Lego movie sets, the Castle sets, Ninjago, etc.) comes and goes, he always loves the City sets. I think they are some of not only the most fun for him to build, but also play with afterwards, as they feature so many iconic and easy to assimilate-into-any-imaginary-environment pieces. This fire station, a Christmas present from last year, out-lasted just about every set on his Lego table and I saw him playing with it quite frequently. All in all, as expensive as Legos are--and goodness know they are ridiculously-priced given they are simply molded plastic blocks--I don't feel too bad buying them for my son, because I not only know how much he enjoys putting them together and playing with them, but how much I, as a mom, see him get out of them. He's learned to follow instructions (he's better than I am at deciphering diagrams), be patient and creative. While I don't think that "professional Lego builder" dream job is likely to pan out, it's given him a genuine interest in math, engineering and architectural design. I'm not saying it will lead to a career, but those are all very good things from this mom's point of view.

This fire stations is amazing!!! I bought it for my almost-five-year-old daughter. My husband and I put it together because our daughter is still too young to do it herself. Well, the truth is that I did most of it LOL... My husband put together the helicopter, I did everything else but we both had so much fun!! I was a huge fan of LEGO when I was a little girl and this project reminded me of my childhood years. Back then there weren't this level of detail, though. The sliding garage doors in the LEGO fire station are my favorite feature! I also love that not all the firefighters are men. There's at least one female firefighter which is wonderful to show little girls they can grow up to be anything they want to be.My daughter loves playing with the little people and she moves them around, opens and closes the doors, takes off the helmets and put them back on... She likes it so much that she decided to put in on her night stand right next to her bed. We're keeping the manuals with the instructions and when she's older will take it all apart and let her put it together again :-).

this things are quite complex to review, as for quality there's not much to say tho, I mean they are LEGO and that's a quality guarantee per se, as with every other lego set this need to be complemented with other sets and minifigs, on the assortment side it comes with plenty of minifigs and accesories to play with, truck ladder is not that sturdy and tends to come of if treated roughly, the building itself looks quite nice assembled, fire chopper is basic but gets the job done. As wih every other Lego it stayed fully assembled about 2 - 3 weeks until little kid wanted to do "something different". So if its for collectors its a great piece, very complete and for kids play is even greater there are tons of things that can be assembled,LEGO really needs to put out some sets for imagination construction (like KNEX multimodel boxes).a great toy to have, a tad expensive as with any LEGO.

Gift for my grandson for his 5th birthday and he LOVES it. I thought he may have been a little young, but with just a little assistance from his dad they put it together. After that my grandson takes it apart and puts it back together without any assistance. It is almost a year later and this is still my grandson's favorite toy and he plays with it all the time. Playtime with it has probably surpassed the playing time with Thomas the Train sets which was his previous favorite toy of all time. While this is an expensive toy item, it is well worth the price. It has so many separate large pieces, eg., fire truck, helicopter, etc. He loves it so much that Santa will probably bring him the large set of the Police and emergency vehicles set. This toy encourages imaginative play and utilizes thought processes to know how items fit together with one another.

My boys (age 8 and 5) got this set and the Police Station for their birthdays this year. I worried my 5 year old would be a little young, but he was able to build many of the components with minimal assistance. They have loved loved loved playing with this kit once assembled. I thought they might take it apart to build other things or simply because they are boys and demolishing is what they do... but instead, they have kept the pieces as assembled and play with them almost daily. The attention to detail in these sets from Lego is astounding. I have to admit that I have even enjoyed playing with the kids when they want me to spend some time with them! Such fun and such a great way to open up the imagination.Amazon always has the best prices on these pricey kits, too. A great gift that will keep on giving all year long.

As with all things Lego, this set is an exceptional item for constructive play. My 7 year old grandson was thrilled to get this for Christmas and put it together in under an hour. He has played with it constantly since then, and it is a great addition to the other city buildings I and others have purchased for him. The price was better than it was on the Lego site and although we all know Legos are expensive, they are well-worth the money as they are well-made and outlast most other toys out there, both because they spark a kid's imagination and because they are a great way for kids to learn about structures, math and reading directions.I would definitely consider buying this product for other Lego builders in my family!!

Bought this a a gift for our 11 year old daughter. She was anxious to put it together immediately, but as it was evening, was made to wait until the morning. The next day she put it all together, happily working all day (6 - 8 hours) on this project. She was so proud of getting it all together without any assistance. She has since played with it some, although it does not hold together great for that purpose. This is a Lego kit after all. The point is that she absolutely enjoyed building this set and was excited to have done so on her own. It looks great when assembled and has fun features and details. We particularly like the roll up garage doors. A wonderful set and fun for hours!

We got this for our son for Christmas. He just turned 5. He loves legos and firefighters, so it did not disappoint. It did take us (my husband, son and I almost 2 hours to build..... it was worth it for the hours he has played with it since Christmas. It is slightly overwhelming when opening the contents of the bag as there are 9 bags of legos, but they are marked well and the instructions give you step by step to build the vehicles and the firestation. I would think that most kids will need adult supervision just because of the number of steps and sheer size of the station..... but I have a 5 year old who is learning to follow steps with pictures.

I bought this Lego set for my 8 year old nephew and he loves it. These are some of my favorite gifts to give children because it encouraged their mechanical skills and imagination, manual dexterity, and good times with either mom or dad, as they the Legos get built. My brother says that his son no longer needs help with his Legos which is sad for my brother, but teaches him right for having such a smart kid. I chose this particular set because it seems so positive. Nothing to do with war, just helping out people in trouble. The set is packaged in 4 different sets so you can keep things more organized. Brilliant as usual.

Bought this for my grandson's collection of Lego toys and it was a hit. He already had the Police City Station so this set just about completes his fire collection. it is very similar to the Police Station but you can never have too many larger buildings and trucks. Only problem I am having is finding a good place to have all these bigger pieces out where he can play with them. I had to convince him to use his Thomas train set table to set up all the Lego sets and pieces. That is working for now but wonder how long before he wants to play with his trains. Hum, maybe I can build a train track around the Lego sets.

My 4-year old loves fire trucks and fire stations, so it was tough to avoid this option for his birthday. Attention to detail (as expected) is quite high. Amazon had about the best deal going for 80 bucks vs. the local Lego store that charges full retail. Glad I saved a little money. Tempted to dock it a star because the cost still makes you feel like you're giving an arm and a leg for something that probably cost Lego no more than 8-10 bucks to manufacture. Yet there's no denying they own this market -- nothing else like it out there....so they've earned the right to charge you ridiculous prices.

Lego has really evolved since the 1950's. It has much improved player creativity with new shapes and sizes and colors. There really is no comparison to other similar products, Lego leads the way. I have tried other bricks and found that they do no fit as well as Lego bricks. Some of the plans for building are skimpy and do not seem like well built structures. I find the combination of color, shape and overall look of Lego as impressive. I recommend this product for old people as well as the young people. LOTS OF FUN!! Put down the knitting, and crossword puzzles and play and build with Lego.

My 6-year-old requested this set for his birthday. With minimal help from myself and my husband, he managed to put this entire set together in roughly three hours. There isn't much that will keep him seated for that amount of time AND keep him in good spirits. He has added this to his LEGO City Set #60026 Town Square (which took him a little longer to assemble due to the extra 200 pieces) and it looks like it belongs there on the side of the LEGO City 7280 and 7281 - Road Base Plates. Now if only he keeps it together long enough to save my feet from stepping on the pieces...
