Who can resist a lego donut?This is a great set aimed I would say at ages 6-7. It took me a couple of afternoons to complete. There are 8 bags of bits and the donut is in bag 8 which gives an incentive to push on.Most bags have a complete item in - a couple are spread over two bags - toy shop, coffee shop - with muffins and cookies, TV outside broadcast van, taxi and police motorcycle and the articulated crane lorry. The crane is extendable, operated by a simple cog mechanism with stabilisers to keep the vehicle steady while you manouevre your donut onto the roof of the coffee shop. There is a sneaky little lever on the roof so you can send the donut flying again if you so wish.

Whilst I’m a big fan of LEGO on the whole, I do still struggle to justify some of these pre-moulded sets as I think they lack the ingredient of creativity. That being said, if you happen to have a lot of LEGO already and are looking for some set pieces to use in your existing creation, this sort of package is a good place to start. Part of the ‘City’ range of fairly normal (i.e. non-fantasy, and still traditional-looking LEGO), the Town Donut Shop set contains 10 minifigures in various configurations which you can chop-and-change as you see fit. You also get a cool crane truck that is intended to lift the shop-front donut into place as part of a story scene.

This Donut Shop Lego kit is part of the Lego City range - but is also compatible with other collections such as Lego Friends. It is a big box full and you can create different scenes around the grand opening of the Donut (their spelling!) shop. There is a large lorry and crane to lift the big pink doughnut into place, and a TV crew and van to record the grand opening. Other street features include a toy shop with mini toys, a coffee shop and mobile coffee vendor, taxi and a police motorbike. There is a new character called Duke DeTain, a police officer complete with handcuffs who is ready to chase the robber figure who is also included. Another season and another continuation of the Lego City theme has arrived and in this case it's an exciting day in Lego world as a new doughnut shop is opening.This medium sized set goes well alongside others in the series, with several vehicles including a crane providing plenty of play opportunities. Each of the elements - the two shops, the cars and the crane come in their own individual bags with individual instructions similar to even larger sets meaning it could be split between kids or over a period of time. There are lots of moving parts and interesting stories that could be told - which add to the intrigue though do mean it doesn't totally hold together as one and could easily be

This set is great play-set for children. It has many different elements to the point that it's almost like several smaller sets wrapped up into one. Each building or vehicle is packaged seperately within the box so you can build one element at a time, ideal for younger builders who don't have the mental stamina or attention-span to build it all at once. Once finished the set is really great to play with: the interiors of the buildings are easily accessible and there are plenty of scenes and stories you can use the minifigures to enact. My personal favourite parts are the donut which can be sent rolling by a simple mechanism and the crane which has some great moving parts.This set is good on its own and could be easily amalgamated into any lego collection due to its modular nature.Overall,

If I could give 6 stars i would have. This is Lego at its best. We all know it's well made, fits together nicely and there's always enough bits but this has that added fun factor. I ordered this for my 7 year old son and it arrived today. He spent all day on it and has now completed it all and is playing with it. It's a good challenge for him to do on his own, not too easy and not too hard, and he had so much fun. It looks like it does on the box but his favourite bit is the giant doughnut. It fits onto the shop and you can then release it for it to roll through the town. He thinks I'm awesome for getting him this so thank you Lego for a brilliant set.

Lego never fails to deliver engaging and challenging learning landscapes for children. The Lego City package hits the mark again in that the set is achievable and rewarding for young children to construct.The instructions are clear and easy to understand and the buildings are brightly coloured and interesting. Then there are the vehicles and people, each one designed to appeal to both boys and girls.I cant fault the City package, my daughter (9) gets up early before school so she can work on it and plays with her completed pieces in the evening in her bedroom. We have had three days of her doing this so Lego should be congratulated.

I bought this set because the family (4 of us) was having a no-screen weekend and I wanted something we could all contribute to and have something to show for it at the end.It was even better than I'd hoped. The set came in 8 bags and with 6 instruction booklets so there was no waiting around for one person to finish their bit before passing over; we could all work together.Even with the 4 of us working, it took nearly 2 hours to build everything so definitely worth it.

I bought this for my 6 year-old to add some variety to his emergency services-dominated Lego City collection. He absolutely loves it, especially the toy shop and crane lorry.The set provides a huge variety of play potential, from the police motorcyclist to the toy shop, brilliantly designed coffee shop, cycling coffee vendor and crane lorry to fine details such as the cashpoint.The sheer variety of playing potential makes this lego set excellent value for money.

This set is one of a kind and amazing.I think that this set just has loads of character. Maybe it is a bit expensive, but it is really, good.I love the building techiniques and the veriety of buildinds. The vehicles I also love, especially the coffe bike and the taxi.I think this set would work in any city, especially a town centre or market area. It works well and is perfect for a child and even adults. Very playable and overall, a great set. 4 stars!!

This is awesome. When I was growing up the selling point of a lego set was to get A new minifigure...This one has 10! so 10 year old me is very impressed and excited.THe build is split into 8 pieces over several books so four of us sat down to make it. There were a fair few stickers but happily most of the bricks were standard and not all these modern cut pieces.Great fun has been had from aged 10-49 this weekend.

This kit is a donut factory, and shop, with little fancy donuts and cakes to built as well as the factory and shop. There are also little people to build, and vehicles such as a lorry a car and a policeman. Kids will love this kit, not seen this here a new one to the UK I think but will give Lego enthusiasts plenty of fun building. Great kit.

I love it. It reminds me so much of The Simpsons town for some reason. All the small shops and cars are great for imaginative play and can start off a much bigger lego city set; it's a proper playing with toy, whilst also getting satisfaction from the build.Another quality lego set with absolutely no complaints!

I'll admit wasn't that bothered about this set until it was on offer. Then at the price I thought I would get it, so glad I did. It's fun to build looks good when built too and fits in well with my plans. Think kids will love it. The crane putting the doughnut in place works good and like the added Tv crew.

This is a 10/10 Lego set, 2 buildings with loads detailTaxi, media van, lorry and police bike, lots of little figures and a massive doughnut.... This is a fun build because there's so much Too build and once it's built it looks busy.... Every Lego City should have this set.... Absolutely brilliant.
