This is a review for set 60252 Construction Bulldozer for ages 4+.ContentsThe pieces of this set are split between two larger bags (each containing a smaller bag for the smallest component pieces), with the rubbery treads and a larger block plate loose in the box, and accompanied by two instruction booklets - one for each vehicle. The set does comprise some larger pieces, due to its nature as a '4+' set, but surprisingly few, being just the bulldozer 'roll cage', the chunky plate it is built upon, and the braced frames that hold up the wrecking ball platform. Two minifigs are provided, each with a different torso print and face print (the bulldozer driver has some 'dirt' smears on his face, which is pretty cool); the wrecking ball operator's torso is in the style of a high visibility vest, so includes a metallic silver print for the reflective stripes. You also receive two hand tools - an axe and a spade - as well as several printed tiles, mostly chevron patterned 1x4 tiles, but also a printed 2x4 warning sign and a 1x2 sloped tile printed with gauges (including metallic print details).Form and Play-abilityI really like this set. In many ways, it is a classic Lego City set, just very slightly made easier in build for a younger fan. The wrecking ball platform includes a ladder so the operator can climb up, a seat, and the wrecking ball is set on a plate that rotates 360 degrees, with a ratcheted, hinged crane arm. The bulldozer bucket is on a simple hinge joint so can move up and down; the 'cage' is on a hinge so you can easily open and insert or extract the minifig driver; the bulldozer pulls a simple two-wheel trailer, attached by a ball joint. There is also a cement mixer, which actually spins and is filled with 1x1 round dark grey tiles taking the role of chunks of cement. Having these pieces of construction equipment is a launch pad for a great deal of play value alone, especially with the inclusion of two minifigs, plus the additional blocks, traffic cones and signage - but additionally, this is such a wonderful kit to incorporate with other Lego City sets, as construction work is an inevitability of urban life.General SummaryI'm so impressed with this set; despite it being very slightly adapted to make it easier to build - it took me less than 20 minutes to complete - it really feels close to a more standard Lego set, and would happily sit alongside regular Lego City sets. The minifig designs are nice, with enough differentiation for a child to make up character stories for them (plus, one face just has glasses and eyebrows under their red helmet, so can be interpreted as a woman construction worker). The set includes some pieces that are there for additional play value, such as the hand tools, traffic cones, plus a hook attached to the wrecking ball platform that doesn't seem to serve a particular purpose. This is a great set, full of play value for the price - and no stickers (which, probably are not used because aligning these is difficult for younger children, also makes me very happy)! Would highly recommend.

This126 piece set features two minifigures, a bulldozer, wrecking ball, and an assortment of construction-zone extras. Aimed at 4+ age (though I think they might need a bit of help with it). The back of the box further emphasizes this with a “learn to build” blurb over an inset that shows the level of complexity to expect. Inside, there are two bags of parts, two instruction booklets, a loose vehicle chassis and a pair of rubber treads. Each instruction booklet corresponds with one of the bags of parts. The first instruction booklet guides you through making the bulldozer, using bag 1 & all its loose parts. There are a couple of ever-useful warning bars printed on 1×4 tiles, and a 2×4 tile with warning sign printed on it.Bag 2 contains the parts for the wrecking ball/crane, a cement mixer, some bits of wall to smash up, and another construction worker, this part is a bit more difficult. The main focus of this bag is the wrecking ball/crane structure. This is another quick and easy build, but it still looks nice. The crane arm is built using a click-hinge, and you can swap out the wrecking ball with a cargo hook for alternative play. The crane mount spins on a central axis, allowing for a good range of motion when combined with the lift-arm. My only real complaint is that while the operator gets a couple of gauges to simulate a control panel, they have no way of actually operating the crane. I suppose the LEGO-standard control levers were seen to be a bit too fiddly for the 4+ crowd. I remember as a kid I wanted toys to "do something", but I loved it if a playhouse opened & closed doors, things didn't just dot there! So it's something for Lego to consider. This is a fun scene to build for boys, although it has a lot of small bits, so there's a choking hazard if another younger toddler brother or sister is about. So please bear that in mind. Also, I think it's a bit over priced for £18.

A very nice builders/digger set. When made it has a digger with trailer, a demolition crane, a cement mixer, bricks to knock down, and even red cones! Very cute and my boys loved it. The set comes with an instruction step-by-step manual as per all Lego sets. My 4 year old found this too challenging, so my 6 year old helped him build it without any difficulty. The pieces have been split into bag 1 and 2, with two separate instruction parts. This makes it that little less confusing than having all lego pieces in one bag. I have attached a picture of the final product. Quality and attention to detail as good as always with Lego.

Lego always seems expensive and yet its worth every penny for the total play value, the durability, the quality and the design. This particular Lego set is a little easier than some of the more intricate ones and for 4+The set come packed in bags with informative instructions that are easy to followThe colours as always are bright and the bricks strong and durable and will last for ever.I like that the design has so much detail and so many characters. And of course, once finished it can be made in to other designs. The limits are only those of imagination. Always a great buy.Good value and recommended

I gave this to my 5 year old to make and they did need some help, mainly with building the bulldozer thing. Older siblings helped and the 5 year old ended up finding the bricks for that bit! It’s a cute set and includes enough to them play a game with. I usually always work out the brick cost to see if it’s a good value set - a rough guide I know but it just gives me a sense. This is about 14p per piece which is normal but it does contain some large pieces. (Anything under 10p is good, the best value sets which are the loose brick sets can be around 3/4p a brick!)

This is a fantastic little lego set with lots of bits perfect for your little builder to play with. It has a digger, which has a little trailer, it has a crane for demolition as well as a cement mixer and more accessories such as bricks, cones, tools and a sign. As with any lego set, it comes with great step by step instructions, which can be followed easily and the bags of pieces are numbered 1 and 2, so you know which bag to open first! There were no missing pieces and indeed there were a few extra little bits!

This is lovely colourful and interesting set for younger Lego enthusiasts. My grandson is a bit young for the building malarkey however I put these together myself (the things I do for that boy….) and he can play with these at the same time as his little train trundles around the wooden track nearby. There are two figures, as well as vehicles, signs and other building paraphernalia that make this a nice set. He especially likes the wrecking ball that he can knock down the wall over and over, as they do !

This was brilliant, my son loved it from the moment it arrived. It was easy for him to help me put it together, and it had clear instructions pictures and information which were really helpful. It is good quality and has survived a toddler/ pre schooler playing with it at many different places in and out of home. I would definitely recommend this especially if you have a child who likes to build as well as construction toys!

Our 4-year-old grandson enjoyed building this - a little assistance was needed but he did most of it. He liked playing with it - constructions toys are always a great favourite and this had plenty of detail to explore. The instructions are good enough to guide the process of the build.Ideal to while away some of the half-term holidays.

I bought this set for my 4 year old nephew who is obsessed with all things plant. It was his first Lego set and putting it together was easy with some help from his dad. It’s a great little set with plenty to act out and imagine. He’s now asked for more Lego for his birthday as a result!

Great set for a 4 year old. Quick and fairly easy to construct without much help and hours and hours of fun. He is a big lego fan and this has to be one of his favourite sets, especially as he can build other things and knock them down with this crane.

This is a great gift for a child interested in the building trades and other related areas. I bought this for a child with a builder father. Went down a treat. Good quality and you always know what you're buying with Lego products. Great

This toy is great, got for my 3 year old boy, thought it might be too difficult for him. But he managed to follow the very simple instructions with a little help from mum. Nice set to transition from Duplo!

Excellent product. Kept my son busy whilst constructing this! Instructions were easy and simple to follow. Clear picture on the front of the box was exactly what the final product looked like!

This was a present for our grandson, perfect gift, he said just what he wanted & set to work building the kit & then showing everyone. Very easy to follow instructions for a 5 year old.
