There are loads of different LEGO sets that you can buy, but there is something quintessential about 'LEGO 60214 City Fire Burger Bar Rescue Truck Toy'. It gives you almost the ultimate LEGO experience for a kid; cool vehicle, a building and a story that you can understand and play with. The pack contains the pieces to make a burger bar that catches fire and the appliance that is sent to save the day. Cool elements such as flames that can be flipped up and down and a 'water jet' that moves really add to the fun.Building this kit requires some patience and the closer you are to the 5+ recommended age group, the more help you will need.Building the kits is a large part of the fun though and it is very satisfying getting you hands on a fully moving Fire Engine for a kid or an adult. What I like most about this LEGO kit is that it feels like a toy once it is built. Sometimes you finish and you can't do that much with the elements, but here you have a clear scenario that is really enjoyable. The pieces fit together well enough that you can move them around and reenact Bob's Burgers catching fire again. He seriously needs to change the cooking fat one of these days. There are loads of little elements in this kit that add even more from the inclusion of a female firefighter, a cool bike or the look on the chef's face as he sees his livelihood go up in flames. 'Burger Bar Rescue' is one of the best examples of LEGO that I have played as it balances the enjoyment of the build with the fun of playing the completed article.

Another great Lego city set to add to our collection. I really like the city sets as they are more versatile and allow for more imaginative play once built. Also they can be mixed and matched with the other city sets. There is fire station set which can be to expand this, although the design of the fire engines is different to the one in this set.The recommended age is 5+ and built this with my 6 year old. Although he had no problems putting the pieces together and following the instructions, I did find the right pieces for him ahead of time. It can be quite tricky figuring out which of the similar looking pieces the instructions are referring to.Once this I've noticed in this set (and a few of the other recent ones)is that they spit the bags and the instructions up into multiple sub-sets. This means you're looking through far fewer pieces in order to find the one needed. The set comes with 3 characters, a male and female firefighter and the burger shop employee.Once built it's a nice set to play with, the fire engine is impressive with rotating back section and the water canon. There are some nice details on the restaurant like the flames that can be "put out", the menus, and sliding service window.Overall a great set that my kids enjoyed building as well as playing with.

I loved playing with LEGO as a child, and it's a joy to now experience the feeling all over again with my daughter (who is nearly 6). We worked on this set together, and over two sessions it took us around an hour and a half to construct. We both enjoyed the experience, and she has had plenty of fun playing with it since. It is a good way for her to learn how to follow instructions and construct something, and the timing of this set was perfect as she'd just had a visit from a real fireman so had some knowledge of what they do.As I would expect from LEGO, the pieces are extremely well designed and strong. The set contained all pieces, plus a few spares, and the instructions could not be easier to follow. The pump on the top of the fire engine fires out a plastic hose, which you can position against the plastic flames to put them out (by knocking them down). The attention to detail and realism is impressive, with a nice set of stickers and little touches like ketchup and mustard bottles in the snack bar.Recommended for age 5+, my daughter would have struggled to construct it herself although she is already planning on dismantling and making different things with the pieces.Overall, for any fan of LEGO looking for a new set, I can't recommend this highly enough.

It always surprises me how small the lego pieces are. Great for developing fine motor skills but not suitable for very small children. My 13-year-old loves put lego together for me to take to the library to enhance specific themes during the school holidays. Can you guess the theme we have with this set ?There are such a lot of different pieces to engage within the Burger Bar Rescue set - Fire Engine with the water gun that actual faux-squirts water which when placed in front of the 'fire' actually knocks it down to make it appear as if the fire truck has put out the fire ? Again great for enhancing eye-hand coordination. You can see the fire on top of the Burger Bar in the photos.I love the endless possibilities for this set when the children's imaginations are engaged. We have a visit from the real fire engine, followed by a story relating to the fire service and then the lego - how excited am I ?

This was a great simple build. I bought it mostly for the burger bar to complement my town setup but the play functions in this are cool too for kids. The burger bar looks great and I love the giant burger sign on top of the pole. The fire can be hidden if needed, or removed completely, for anyone who just wants a burger bar!I left mine on cos it’s fun. The surprisingly functional fire engine swivels and the hose extends then when you squeeze the end ‘water’ shoots out to douse the flames. Very cleverly done though you have to position the engine in just the right place to be close enough. But kids will have lots of fun knocking the flames down time and time again! The build itself is pretty simple.Nothing too complicated going on here. Overall those is a great set.

I was thrilled to find that this set is actually playable. It has been too long, (in my opinion), since Lego made proper playable sets which has been a real shame. This set is a nice build, not too difficult; but the addition of the "water cannon" in conjunction with the flame pieces is fantastic as one can actually extinguish the flames! My 6 year old has had hours of fun with the set, and it reminds me of my childhood, (which was many years ago!), and the hours of fun I got from actually playing with my sets, as opposed to just building them. All in all, this is a good addition to the Fire range, and a welcome return to playable sets. Well done, Lego.

I am sat watching my son in law building this City Fire Burger Bar Rescue Truck alongside his toddler son. Dad is building and toddler is knocking it down! Toddler is having a wonderful time and Dad is getting a bit frustrated!.I can't fault the appeal of Lego and the hours of fun it gives. This Fire Truck and all accessories are no exception. What I do like is the outer box gives a comprehensive overview of all the contents so purchasing an item is very straightforward.Back to the construction - Dad is having a break and a coffee, toddler is pulling bits apart! Ah happy families

We are building up a collection of the City range, and this is a great addition. It comes with a burger bar, fire engine and bike, as well as 3 figures. The flames attach to moving pieces, so as you extinguish them they fall down behind the sign. My husband was initially concerned about the water pump, but was happy to find it doesn't actually shoot water but blows air that shoots out a plastic water-spray. Great new release to the series, and you could put the flames anywhere that you like.

My nearly three year old is loving everything fire engine at the minute and waited very patiently as I built it. He was able to pop a few bits on with guidance, but he didn't quite get the idea. The burger van, scooter and mini figures allowed him to play with the set long after I had built it. He has great fun firing the replica water at the flames and acting out different scenarios.Being LEGO it is well made and built to last. Very happy with this set, though not as much as my son.

We're overrun by Lego in our house, so can be difficult for a set to get some attention. This definitely does - due to the working fire house, which extends out a transparent blue (classic Lego water colour), which can hit against the flames to put them out/knock them down. You get a decent amount of Lego for the money - good sized fire engine, with a nice wee burger stand (the burger sign is nicely done), as well as a motorbike and 3 minifigs. All in all, an excellent wee set.

The box highlights the things you're going to make and from the outset, you just want to play with the water cannon! Where's the fire? As with all Lego profucts the instructions are straight forward and easy to follow. The fire vehicle is really solid and well put together and the burger bar is a fun target for the fire engine.FYI, The rest of the water cannon is inside itselfGood components that are able to be played on their own, great fun great Lego great vehicles.

My 5 year old absolutely loved playing with the Lego burger bar fire rescue set. He did struggle to build it on his own and ended up needing abit of help but once it was put together he had so much fun. He especially enjoyed the squeezie pump with “Lego water” to aim at the fires. He also enjoyed the fact that he could use his other Lego sets with this one as they where compatible to mix together. As always with Lego the quality is excellent and I would definitely recommend.

As Lego goes this is a reasonable value set with a fire engine, four Lego people and just enough Lego pieces to make a small burger bar. The concept is imaginative but perhaps a bit too gimmicky to give it much replay value. In case, you aren't sure from the listing, there is no water involved. The hose has a clear plastic just that you can use to knock over the plastic flames. Overall it's not a bad buy with the quality and design up to the usual Lego standard.

Great Lego set. My grandson in Australia who is 5 years and Lego crazy asked for this set, fire engine sets not the flavour at the moment there. Well worth every penny. Fire Engine, burger bar, scooter and people - provides a whole scene to act out a fire. The engine has a pump rather than a ladder and the pump shoots out a plastic stick of imitation water hitting the plastic upright flames and knocking them in a downward position.

My husband and I loved putting this together. For a smaller set there are a lot of neat elements. The fire on the sign can be knocked down by the pump on the truck. The window on the burger stand slides open to show a whole array of burger making set up inside. The only thing I would change is the light configuration, which we did. We jazzed up the light bar with other red, white, and blue pieces we had left from other sets.
