I love the Statute of Liberty set, so when I saw this I knew there was no point resisting. What caught my eye was the pretty accurately captured scaling and proportions that make this model look quite like the real building (Ok the yellow cabs might be oversized, but this is LEGO). For an Architecture set it is a good sized model and looks great as an ornament for those into buildings. There is a fair bit of repetition, but you progress quickly and it's very satisfying when you place the large expanses of tan tiled window sections. There are a couple of fiddly bits when constructing the lower podium section, but otherwise it's pretty straight forward.I think this is very well designed set and have been cleverly thought out to give nice fine detailing to the setbacks of the tower that take it away from the expected LEGO scaling. All we need now it for LEGO to bring to the Chrysler Building to complement this! Hint hint!

My adult daughter loves these things. Sometimes they sit around for months waiting for a special day to break the seal, as was the case with her Christmas gift. I thought an intermediate size architectural kit would be something we could open and do together. The Empire State Building was the perfect balance between something small enough to do and have fun with without getting bogged down in something that would take forever and sit around waiting for us to get motivated. There were virtually no challenges in putting this together, and it looked really great when completed--far better than the Eiffel Tower or the very weak and small Sydney Opera House. We had no missing parts (a few extra ones were there, but don't think we left anything out), and the instructions were easy to follow. This is definitely a kit that could be built by someone who had never attempted a LEGO project before.

The 21046 Empire State Building is one of the few first Architecture sets I had began to build. It's instantly recognisable design is perfect from every angle and it is an incredible model for display. The price at first put me on the fence, but looking at it built up, it's sheer size is enough to make me realize that it's great value for money as well as the fairly large piece count. This is great for adults and teens and I wouldn't recommend for younger children due to the build and the overall play value. The build is quite repetitive at times but it's definitely good for building with another person as almost every other step is a repetition. In conclusion,I would recommend this for anyone who is looking for a good display model due to its beautiful design and to anyone who is a fan of the Architecture themed sets.

My household owns all of the Architecture Lego’s so when this set came out we had to have it. The only reservation I had was the monotony of the numerous exterior bricks, however Lego had an answer, within the directions they split it up in such a way that you do not realize the hundreds of exterior pieces you place on the building- well done Lego !!I also enjoyed that there were quite a few new building techniques. The building is solid and with 1700 pieces was very easy to build and a very enjoyable build. My son and I are Lego crazies with 100’s of sets and we are always looking for the newest Lego to come out and we are glad this one was added to the Architecture series’s as it looks majestic standing next to our Statue Of Liberty.Thank You Lego - Keep Up The Quality Work

I bought this product in the Spring and finally had a chance last night to put it together. It took me roughly 8 hours, and somewhere close to the end I somehow missed a step, and when I went back on the instructions I still couldn't figure out my error. Regardless I was able to make it look complete still, I just have a piece missing where the black lego is but it kinda looks like a binocular lookout anyway and to the average age you can't notice it. I had a couple pieces that were sent in error, for instance instead of light grey pieces I was sent dark grey instead but you can't notice, I think I was also missing another piece but I had extra pieces from my other sets. Regardless I love it,and it brings back memories of my visit to NYC and it displays nicely on my desk

I recently went to New York City and saw this building (and all the others on the Skyline set) in person, and this set is by far the most accurate for the scale you could get to the actual look of the Empire State Building. I wouldn't ask for them to do anything else with this set, and the designers did a fantastic job! I do love the escalator/elevator "Easter eggs" included during the building process, and besides the base, this build was pretty straightforward. The side panels are somewhat fragile but once the build's complete it's extremely sturdy. I love large-scale Architecture sets like this, and I would love to see maybe a stand-alone One World Trade Center or Chrysler Building Architecture set in the future! Thanks for this fantastic set!

Lockdown boredom to alleviateLego shop's open again - towards it I gravitateJust finished the Sian what to build nextFrom difficult builds I need a restLego budget getting tight, which model would be right?Got some space on a window sill, so something to catch the lightThe Empire State box caught my eye, I like these smaller repetitive builds, you don't have to tax your brainJust let the calming bricks their magic down on you rainSo not the biggest of builds but satisfying all the sameThe finished build does not look lameIt has a kind of golden hue & looks just right on the window sill too.So I recommend this build to you

I very much enjoyed assembling the Empire State Building. Some novel construction methods result in a very solid final product. While some sections can be a bit repetitive, the way the designer has constructed these segments keeps it interesting. Would definitely recommend...Strengths:- Good sense of scale and appearance, especially given the size of the model- You get a sense of the size of the building during construction- Very solid final product- Perfect size for display- Great part quality with no variations in colourOpportunities:- None really, other than the build was over too soon!

I bought this set for my son, but I was also very excited about it. The building looks awesome, and it is quite impressive. I have only one humble request to LEGO... create other sets about iconic buildings but PLEEEEEAAAAAAASE, keep the SAME SCALE, even if the building ends with 1+ m tall. For instance, the 21031 Burj Khalifa now looks minute compared to this ESB, and they are hardly comparable due to the big difference in terms of scale. This ESB could set the beginning of a new line of sets inside the Architecture series.

I adore the Architecture series! This was my 6th build from it. It was also my tallest and most piece-set I´ve ever built so far.It was a bit to keep track of all the pieces as well as making sure Im doing everything right. I messed up once, but thankfully easy to correct! Just grabbed two very similiar pieces. Its a fun, slightly advanced build (for me anyway), and it took me a few hours with a break after bag 3 was complete! The building looks so great when its finished, grandeur in its size and details.

A really easy build but a really effective model.Lego has not disappointed with this set. It captures the iconic building in the simplest of builds.I have built the New York, LA and London sets but this will take pride of place next to the Statue Of Liberty which I was brought for Christmas. Now we have this iconic building along with the Statue Of Liberty the next one must surely be the Chrysler building in large scale. Come on Lego lets see this one soon please.

My 11 year old and I really enjoyed putting this project together and the end product is impressive. The instructions were really good and easy to follow. The only downside was that we were provided a couple of darker grey pieces that should have been lighter grey and this resulted in a slight blip above the lobby doors where the roof isn't entirely the same color. However, if you haven't built this project, you probably would never notice this.

I found this model to show the elegance of the original and the most sturdy version of SNOT construction I have built. I liked the hidden details (the escalators inside) and the accuracy of the proportions. I enjoyed the build and the accompanying facts in the instructions.I visited this building’s observation deck when it held the title of world’s tallest building.Of course I put had to put a mini fig dressed as King Kong on the top.

I had been wanting this set for a while and now I finally have it, I couldn't be happier. The design is ridiculously detailed and the build was a lot of fun. My husband and I spent the afternoon building it... which was great team building for us both. It wasn't too tedious to construct and we are both novice Lego builders too. I am very impressed with the quality and end result. Well played Lego team!

I bought this the Empire State Building as a Xmas present to myself to help get thru this current lockdown here .WOW!.. it’s an amazingly enjoyable and a beautiful finished model of this iconic building which I once rode the elevators up . Highly recommended !(hint) I cant wait for the other NYC icon, the Chrysler building to join it on display ; )
