I tend to buy 5 pairs of one type of Jeans, and keep them until they start to fall apart. Right now, that pair of Jeans is the AllSaints Cigarette and I am through my second set of 5. They tend to last around 4 years on me, which is more than most (my legs never touch until right at the top, so there’s none of the wear at the inner thigh). Before that (early 2000’s) it was 5 pairs of Lee Powell, which lasted me around 5 years. The reason I have rambled on about my choices in jeans since 2004 is not a self-indulgent trip down memory lane, but because the Lee Daren are very much a cross between the two, putting them half way between the rock look of 2004 Powell and the skinny look of the more recent hipster cigarette.Like the Powell, these Jeans have a bit of a rock aesthetic about them (the distressed black Powells were in short supply in the early 2000s because many emo bands at the time wore them); thin on the leg but not drainpipe. Like the skinnier cigarette, the material on the Darren is actually stretchy denim, and as any woman will tell you, skinny jeans are unwearable for long in standard denim but become more like comfortable leggings when a bit of Lycra is added. So, you get a thin leg cut (but not severe drainpipe), but you also get the stretchiness (and therefore comfort) of AllSaints cigarette. Result! The place the Daren is tight (if anywhere) is the backside, so if that is something you would like hidden away, these are not the jeans for you!Downsides? The material is stretchy but also not the thickest denim. Probably not jeans to wear if you are wearing for warmth!Button fly. Down to personal preference, but I prefer them. Its called Darren. It doesn't say that anywhere on the actual Jeans though. Phew!Who would buy these Jeans?Anyone who fancies a modern, non baggy look that isn't too retro.Anyone too old for drainpipes, but not yet ready for dad trousers. Comfort and a rock aesthetic, but only if you still have the back side for it!Oh, and my partner took a quick snap of them whilst we were on a walk today. They’re a bit stiffer than they perhaps should be (I wore them straight out of the wrapper, no wash), but you get the picture.Overall, very nice, and one I will consider getting another 5 of when the cigarettes come up for replacement!

As expected these Lee jeans are well made from a high quality denim, smartly finished throughout and are true to size with the 38" waist being the perfect fit for my husband. The slim fit is very flattering, rises to just below his waist and he looks considerably slimmer wearing these. They also look quite smart in their deep black colour and would pass for smart-casual or leisure wear.He finds them very comfortable with just the right amount of stretch and 'give' to ensure they remain snug, without being clingy, whether standing, sitting or physically active. The pockets are large and deep, both to the front and rear so a wallet and 5.5" screen phone can be carried with no danger of either rising from the front pockets when sitting down. They washed well with no noticeable shrinkage and the colour remained a deep, dark black following the first wash. Over time we anticipate the dye will gradually wash out and the jeans will lighten. The only niggle relates to the button fly. The buttons are quite fiddly to fasten and a zip would have been preferred. However, as they age the denim will become softer and un/fastening should become easier. In the meantime however, these are notably very flattering jeans and are suitable for a range of ages from teenager to the more mature.

Lee jeans have been around for many years and from basic heavyweight denim to these jeans, they have moved with the times and are using high quality material which keeps its shape. My old Lee jeans lasted for years - I remember at first I had trouble sitting in them, not because they were too tight, but because the material they were made of was such a heavyweight denim it took quite a few washes to loosen them up. Not so these. These jeans are a lovely fit and the fact that they also stretch when you need stretch, gives them an extra special quality. Although I am old fashioned enough to remember when jeans looked new and not worn (like some of today's jeans)I have to admit to liking these a lot - even though they have a bit of a worn look about them. The 30" inside leg measurement is very good indeed and ample for most normal men of normal height. However if you tower over 5' 10" people like me, then go for the longer (32") leg.For me the best bit of all is the quality of the material, being both hard wearing and stretchy I imagine these should last quite some time and if the washes they have been through already have anything to say about them, these present good value too. So all in all a really good pair of jeans worthy of 5 stars.

These Lee Daren Jeans in Storm Grey are a pleasure to wear - the sizing is quite accurate around the waist and seat plus the leg is a generous 30" long. What helps these jeans fit well is that they are generously cut plus stretchy, which, to be honest, is handy after a largish lunch and the stretchiness also means they are ultra comfortable for walking and driving etc.The legs are a nice width and not too skinny so don't look disproportionate if you're a bit chunky around the waist. The pockets are well designed and, unlike some other jeans, coins and keys etc. don't fall out of the pockets when you're driving. One style feature to bear in mind is the button fly,I've found them to be a bit more effort than a zip but fine to use. These Lee Jeans wash well too without leaching out much if any, colour and, again because they are stretchy when you first put them on after a wash they aren't too tight. The fabric which is 71% Cotton, 29% elastomultiester isn't abrasive but feels sturdy and if you hang the jeans up straight out of the washing machine unless you're very fastidious they don't need ironing. Overall, a really comfy and good looking pair of jeans at a sensible price.

I have not worn jeans for a very long time so was slightly trepidatious about obtaining a pair after all this time. But I need not have worried. These slim grey jeans are absolutely fine. They are a snug fit without being the ridiculously skinny things that are very much in vogue with all the young cherubs nowadays. I usually prefer my trousers loose to baggy fitting but these fit okay without making me feel like a middle aged geezer trying to reclaim his youth , which would be ridiculous for me , as my youth was nothing to write home about anyway.I like the colour, i like the fit, though they are a tad loose round the waist. Nothing a belt cannot cure though. The button fly is fiddly but I have yet to encounter a button fly that isn’t by the way. Plus the material is rather thin so they feel more like a loose chino material than a proper denim.I am not convinced these will turn me permanently back onto denim but I will wear them , even in public . And there are pants in my wardrobe I will not leave the house wearing believe me. Fashionista I am not.

Although they're really good and look smart, two things stop me from giving these jeans five stars. One is the price, and maybe I'm too fiscally aware, but I'd get nine(!) pairs of the jeans I usually wear for the cost of one pair of these. The other is the button fly. I know it might be fashionable, but if you're busting for a pee, having to faff about with buttons is going to be a potentially disasterous inconvenience (pun intended!)Apart from that, the pair I received were 32" waist and 30" leg (my usual size) and they fitted me perfectly. They're slightly stretchy which is helpful and look to be very well made (as they should be for the price). If I can get my head around the buttons,I'll wear them, but after nearly fifty years of having a zip, I fear they may not be my first choice. As to whether I'd buy them again, the answer is definitely, but only with a zip and for a lot less cash.

Lee is a long-established brand of jeans and this designer range carrying the Daren label makes a good addition to their range. These jeans are a slim fit style in a Storm Grey colour (black is also available) and they are made from a mixture of 70% cotton with 30% elastane which gives them a degree of stretchiness. They fit as expected and come in a wide range of waist/leg length combinations - however the pricing varies considerably across the size range. The jeans can be machine washed – recommended is a cold 30°C maximum wash – and they have all the style of Lee's classic denim jeans but with the comfort and fit of more modern materials. My size is W33/L32, which are currently around eighty pounds from Amazon, however many sizes are less expensive. Good quality stylish jeans – hopefully your size will be one of the cheaper ones!

Brand new button fly jeans can be a little irksome due to the buttonholes being tight and difficult to do up and undo. But the material is 70% cotton, with the remainder of its constituent threads creating elasticity that allows the buttonholes to stretch over those buttons effortlessly. Comfortable fit, and the give in the material creates a pleasant feeling of moving with you as you move, but clinging firmly enough to you to almost be giving you a leg hug as you walk. The Storm Grey colour is pre-faded in places and will be slightly different on every single pair giving rise to the claim by Lee that every pair of these jeans is unique. Maybe that is a little bit of a stretch, marketing hype wise, but the little stretch in the material of these jeans from the Daren range is a real positive for clothing comfort!

I've got pretty chunky thighs and calves, so I'm starting to give up on truly skinny jeans. I've pretty much given up on non-stretch denim as well for comfort reasons. These Lee trousers offer a good degree of stretch in a traditional cut. They could be a little roomier for me at the top of the thigh and around the calves, but they're a lot comfier than the 511s I tried on a few weeks ago. Lookswise, the product picture is pretty true to the actual fade, colour, and fit, though the model is significantly longer legged and more athletic than myself.I'm going to take off a star for the slightly-too-small pockets.I'd hate for men's jeans to suffer the same fate as women's in terms of having useless pockets...

These are an easy fit, in straight-leg styling, so they won't be tight and skinny, and they felt comfortable right away. The 70% cotton fabric has some horizontal stretch, and is flexible and smooth. All the stitching and riveting looked extremely neat and high-quality, just as you would expect from the good old Lee brand. The fly is fastened not with a zip, but with riveted metal buttons that go into slightly oversized buttonholes, so a skilful flip of a thumb opens them all at once. The colour is shaded in some areas, and I liked the overall iron grey. The front has artificial creases moulded in. That's a styling feature I don't much like, but maybe you do.

There have been a number of reviews on these jeans and I am afraid I have very little fresh to say. For me, they were slightly on the small side. They were a 36 waist but they fit more like a 35 waist. The length is exactly as advertised, but the 36-inch waist is smaller. This is due to the way the trousers are cut and there is little room in the seat. The material itself is of good quality and after a wash became soft. They appear to be well stitched and have good size pockets. Overall, these are a good pair of jeans, which seem to be made to last. I am happy to recommend them, so long as you are aware of the sizing issues.

Great looking jeans with a brand that is often overlooked nowadays. Lee jeans were very popular 20-30 years ago and actually these jeans are timeless.Button fly but fit very well. Not 'too slimg' fitting and are worn by a guy in somewhat older years that makes him look smart and 'age suitable'.High quality jeans as the brand suggests - good finish and great colour. Slightly unusual colour but the quality of the product and the style more than make up for thatVery good pair of stylish jeans.

I’m very pleased with these jeans on two counts. First, they are a good quality pair of cotton jeans with some stretch built in that look and feel good when on. The grey colour makes a good match with a variety of clothes. Secondly, having another pair of Lee jeans at size 38” ( my usual waist size) are a little loose, I thought I’d try the size 36” and I’m glad I did. They fit just right and encourage an old codger like me to feel a bit less overweight ??Well done Lee!

At first I was a little disappointed at the quality of the jeans, they are thinner than previous Lee jeans I had purchased, but I tried them on and found them to be a very good fit, I checked them over and found them to be of good quality and very well made, they wore well, washed and ironed well, I was at first disappointed that I could not find fault with them, accepted that they are good value and purchased another pair.

Waist and leg measurement accurate. I roll the legs up as too long for me.Slim fit is correct - I could feel down my legs that there wasn't much play.Totally dislike the small flies - requires unbuttoning and rolling down from the waist on bathroom visits (not something I like to do in public toilets).Well known brand with a good reputation.Very black - will have to see how that lasts after several washes.
