This is a good quality product which is why I gave it 5 stars. It's the best frying pan I have ever had so I decided to buy one as a present for someone's birthday. It arrived on time but I was really shocked when I opened the packaging to find a huge dent in it. It looked like it had been used to hammer fence posts into the ground but strangely the packing was in mint condition. This must mean that the pan was damaged before it was packed and left the warehouse. Was I on the receiving end of a disgruntled Amazon packer's joke? When they tossed that twisted piece of metal into it's box were they grinning from ear to ear?I refuse to believe that anyone with a pair of functioning eyes attached to a brain can manage to pack something so obviously damaged into a box to be delivered to a so called valued customer. Unless the individual stuffing these boxes is themselves damaged, then I can see no reason for it.I contacted Amazon straight away and they told me that they would send out a replacement assuring me that I would receive it by the following Monday. Low and behold, come Monday Mr Delivery Man didn't come a knockin'. In fact it didn't arrive until Wednesday so I had to give the birthday present late which was really disappointing and frustrating. But the saga didn't end there. I was told to return the pan in the post and they would refund the cost of the postage once it had been received. I think Amazon offer a free collection service in the UK for damaged goods but as I am lucky enough to live in sunny Spain it doesn't apply to me. This meant I had to take an hour off work in the morning to courier the package to the post office so it could then be couriered back to the UK (even though it was dispatched from Italy - and made in France!!).To avoid commission charges with my UK debit card, I used my Spanish debit card to pay the 54€ postage fee at the post office. I asked if Amazon could refund the money back to my Spanish card but they said no, it had to be the UK card that I used to pay for the item. This means that I now have to pay commission if I want to transfer the money back to my Spanish bank account once it's refunded. This is the second time something like this has happened to me when ordering from Amazon. Back in the UK when I bought a bread maker it arrived without any instructions. I asked Amazon if they could send them out to me but they said no, I had to return the whole product, which again was a hassle and they would send out a new one (very efficient!!). I hoped that this was just a one off so I carried on using Amazon to fulfill my consumerist impulses until the whole dented frying pan fiasco. Now, I have to say that I will never use Amazon again. I can't understand how they can send out faulty or incomplete items unnoticed. You just wouldn't expect that from a big international company like Amazon. If they really understood the disappointment of receiving damaged or incomplete items and the hassle of having to return them then I think they would make more of an effort to send out a quality product in the first place. At least if you buy from a shop you can check to see if the product is all in one piece before you take it home. So, let us sum up this charade...Pan - 5 StarsAmazon - 0 Stars and a black hole!!

When we refurbed the kitchen we had a new induction oven which meant that most of the old pans were now obsolete as the induction hob needs pans with a solid 'magnetic' base. I looked around for ages and decided that Le Creuset was the way to go and we bought a complete set. They are superb and providing that you don't use any metal utensils in them - and why would you - they will remain perfect for ages. Once you are used to how they work -it is cooking perfection - fried eggs have never been so good. I also love the hob to oven bit for omlettes etc. I don't put them in the diswasher though as sometimes items go up against them and scratch them and I hate that. They wash so easily anyway even if you have part burnt something in them they still clean up new. They are probably mid range in price but top range in quality. I oil them every two weeks or so and they like that - helps to keep their surface nice. If you like cooking and love precision and quality - these will be for you.

Love this pan. Makes cooking a real pleasure.Size - The size and depth of the 30cm pan make it really versatile allowing you to cook anything from a full English breakfast or curry, to pancakes and stir fry.Cooking - The heat distribution is really good, regardless of whether you are simmering something on a low heat or searing a steak. This is great when cook individual elements or a something that fills the pan.Cleaning - As long as you don't damage the none stick coating by using metal utensils and follow the seasoning instructions, this pan will clean itself.Price - Yes it is expensive, but I am confident this pan will last, and if you want good quality kitchenware you have to pay for it,simple as that.In addition - Has a magnetic base and will therefore work with induction hobs. Nice stylish look and will go with most kitchen designs.Need a versatile, top quality pan? Buy this one.

I'm a little mystified about the problems that other reviewers have had with the non-stick coating for this pan. I haven't had any of these problems. I've had the pan for 4 months now, and no scratches plus no real signs of wear - and that's with regular usage. There is a procedure to season the pan which is extremely simple, and (in my case) that seems to have protected the non-stick coating.I love the size of this pan - there is plenty of room for everything and the food cooks beautifully on a low heat (this helps with fuel efficiency which balances out the initial up-front cost of the pan).I am happy to highly recommend this product. If you can afford it go for this item - the quality will reward you.**Updated - April 2013 - the pan is still in absolutely perfect condition in spite of almost daily use - with non-stick coating as good as the day I first purchased this**

A few months down the line, I can say the boast this product makes of being able to handle the odd scrape by metal implements is not an empty one. It's even survived a well-intentioned guest blithely scrubbing it with a metal scourer. The only minor gripe I have is that, in the accompanying leaflet, the manufacturer advises us not to expose it to "too high" heat. Now there are a lot of things you cook in a frying pan that need high heat. Pancakes for one, and lots of others. Now, I have actually ignored this advice on too many occasions to count, and the pan doesn't seem to have suffered. But I do worry each time I do it, that I'm damaging it in ways that I won't notice until it accumulates past a tipping point. This isn't something you want to be thinking about when you're cooking with a pan that cost this much from such a prestigious manufacturer.

I was worried this pan was going to be too heavy but it's fine. Had it five days and used it every day so far. A pleasure to use, perfect for frying eggs without breaking them. It has a 10 year guarantee but there is a caveat about turning heat up to full. You are told that you can have the heat up full - but not for very long or the non stick surface may suffer damage. And then of course you guarantee will be invalidated.I'm not really sure what they mean by high as my supply is town gas and not that fierce when up full anyway. But I'm wary about taking the risk so will just have to be careful.Despite this, I would still recommend.August 2011Had this pan nearly two years now and am still as happy as the day I first used it.It still looks perfect - no scratches yet. Have heat up full all the time and no harm done. Great pan.

Will it last your lifetime? The fact we've just replaced our old one suggests not. However, the fact we've now had 3 (one replaced under the lifetime warranty) tells you we think it is a very good product. For us anyway, using maybe once per day on average they seem to last 4-5 years then the non stick starts to deteriorate even using non-metal utensils. Note, the warranty only covers the product of you use it on low to medium heat (not sure what that means really), but i guess we've used it hot as well so maybe that's the cause.Anyway, it is a really good quality, heavy pan. Excellent heat distribution and quite high sided so great for making sauces and doing large batches. If this lasts for4-5 years then we'll happily buy another as i'm sure it will outlast much lighter cheaper pans.

I have now owned and exclusively used this toughened frying pan for the previous few months now. In terms of usability and functionality, it is just great. The non-stick surface is good and if looked after well, it'll look next to brand new each time you take it out of the cupboard. The size is perfect cooking for two people and the pan has a good depth that helps keep the spray off from the frying foods to a minimal. So far I have cooked rump steak, chicken breast, large boerewors and king fish fillets in the pan. All with very good results. It has a good weight to it which adds to the apparent quality of finish. You won't be disappointed if you cook with this pan.It makes it all seem so easy!

We have come from the Fissler and Ittalia non-stick pans, and Le Creuset has proven itself way in front of the competitions. It has a nice design and nicely balanced in the hand. The superb thing about this pan is the non stick technology on it. We cook everyday and this pan handles superbly any thing we throw at it. We poach 8 eggs in the morning, we fry salmon & steak, we make pasta sauce, we do stir- fry in it. Everything has come off clean from the pan. It has required minimal cleaning and the surface is still good as we've received it.This is so good that we also bought the 28cm size pan and the pan cake pan too.

These pans are not cheap, but they ooze quality. Quite heavy, but likewise very sturdy with a really top class finish. This pan cooks food perfectly and washes clean effortlessly. The handle on the opposite side is very useful and food finishes perfectly in the oven. Check your oven dimensions though, with handle, this pan is a good size and some smaller ovens will not be big enough. The guide recommends that your wipe the pan down with oil then rinse before use, and do this every now and again to keep the non stick properties, that seems to be worth doing as the pan glistens even after rinsing.

This is wonderful. I bought it for my mother to replace her old classic red enamel pan which had been in use for 30 years then fell and broke its handle. This is lighter, slightly deeper with a narrower base than the original. It has been used as a saute pan, to make a frittata and several stews, to cook courgettes and aubergines. It is very easy to clean and we have been very careful to condition it with a little oil each time and to use wood or silicone tools. I hope it will last as long. It was worth the cost and with a matching glass lid very versatile.

This is an excellent product. I'm doing quite a lot of cooking and have been using the pan almost every day for about half a year now. So far it doesn't show any signs of wear and I'm very happy with it. It's very solidly built and the non-stick so good, it's virtually self-cleaning. The pan is a great size and the fact that it's quite deep mean you can use it for braising, stir-frying and anything else you might like it to do. I've combined it with a cheaper (i.e. non-LeCreuset) lid to complete the set. I would whole-heartedly recommend this pan!

Although this product has a lifetime guarantee, Le Creuset hadn't considered my wife in their rigorous testing regime. This item was bought to replace an identical pan which had suffered from sufficient repeated culinary cremations so as to render the non-stick coating absolutely ineffective. Rather than be ecstatic that she no longer had to put so much effort into cleaning the pan, I was surprised and disappointed when she threatened to launch the pan across the living room at me when she opened her last present on Christmas morning.

The Frying pan feels amazing good balance and weight and can be used in the oven but havent used it yet as we dont wont to mess it up, sounds silly. But this i would say is good value for money and would recomend to anyone buy it.The downside of this is that you have to buy a lid on its own which i think is a bit cheeky considering the price of the pan. There are some very clear care instructions too to make sure you get the best out of your new pan. Plus it has a lifetime guarantee

These are the best pans I’ve ever owned, they are super non stick and so easy to clean. I have other non stick pans but are definitely like these ones. Although they’re expensive I would say once you’ve bought them you won’t need to buy another one for a very long time. I normally buy the pans in the sale and once in a while until I have replace my other pans. I would definitely recommend and if you can’t afford one payment Amazon do an excellent 0% finance to spread the payments.
