Not cheap, but nevertheless I think this represents "good" value. I saw it at first in John Lewis and thought the quality was much better than anything else is saw (and John Lewis doesn't "do" cheap!). I got this firstly for gas and now on our induction hob. It is a fantastic product that feels it will last a life-time. The heat distributes very evenly and so you don't get the burning at the edge of the base where it becomes the side of the pan. It is even less likely to burn or stick on our induction hob, which is MUCH better than gas. We don't like non-stick pans, so with this pan (which does not have a non-stick coating) it is important to have even heat distribution and avoid burning - a cheaper pan has a thinner base and burns. Also we have had cheaper pans that warp - the centre rises slightly and so the deformed base is no longer flat, which means oils and juices flow to the sides, so food burns in the middle - not so with THIS pan - it is brilliant. Looks as good as the day we got it. Some have said it can suffer surface discolouration, but if you don't heat it too severely (why would you?) it does not suffer discolouration. Heating metals to a high temperature was a way to impart "colour" to metals - it was used in the gun manufacture process, making coloured side-plates for expensive guns - the message is, don't heat it too severely. If you want to blast food, use a wok. I'm tempted to get the 24cm one as well as the 30cm, but the price puts me off - one of these pans is "essential" within the kitchen, but 2 is an extravagance!

Probably paying a premium for the name here, but it is worth it. This is exactly the kind of pan we were looking for, and it more than matches our requirements and expectations. It is beautifully made. The heat is transferred throughout the pan extremely evenly. On some designs of pan there is a very thick sandwich base which also does this well, but because the base stops before the edge of the pan, it is easy to get severe hot spots just off the edge of the base where the pan is much thinner, leading to sticking and burning even on moderate heat. That just does not happen with this pan, because the material is the same all the way up to the rim.Another pet hate of mine which this avoids is the prevalence of glass lids on pans now. They look nice and certainly let you see some of what is going on underneath, but the design of the rim which seems common to pretty much every such pan lid now means that water gets inside the rim when it is washed, and will not come out unless left to dry for days, or (as I do with one that we have) if you put it in a warm oven for 10 minutes after washing/drying. If you don't do this, you can often end up with soapy greasy water bubbling and seeping out of the rim and in to the pan when it is next used. Yuk.It is also a very good size, so you can fry and brown a good amount of food in it without overcrowding leading to steaming/boiling as mentioned by the first review here.It cleans up very easily. As long as it is not abused, this pan should give years and years of good service.

Almost everything I cook involves some stove top cooking, even to prepare a slow cooker meal. I was quite nervous to spend so much on one pan, but I have grown to love it. The pan seems to heat up much faster than others I have used, so you generally need to use lower heat settings, but it's faster to respond if you need to heat stuff up quickly. Initially I some problems with the pan getting so hot it caramelizes food very quickly. Since it is non-stick, this means you end up with stuff sticking to the bottom and edges. However after experimenting, I realized that I this is a good thing, you get loads more flavour from those browned stuck bits and as soon as you add any liquid to the pan, those brown bits come straight off. Cleaning is also surprisingly easy. Any liquid releases stuck on bits and the pan comes up like new every time. I'm really impressed.

I have been eyeing these casseroles up for months - my trusty 40 year old volacanic orange cast iron one is still good but heavy and not that big. When this arrived I packaged it up to return and ordered the smaller version as I thought it looked huge and our family has flown the nest. However, I started cooking a chilli this morning in my largest shallow pan and realised how rubbish it is cooking when the pan is full to the brim. Unwrapped this one again, transferred contents and love it! It’s now transferred to the oven which means I can just leave it instead of being on stirring duty. Very happy. This will be going strong long after I’m gone!Wish I’d bought a set of le cruseut pans when I first got married.

The casserole was bought to replace a Tefal product when its non-stick coating had eventually given up. Although it was a nice pan the LeCreuset is in another class. It is beautifully made, feels like it will last forever with securely fitted handles and its shape has no sharp internal angles. This makes cooking in it and cleaning afterwards much easier. It does cook extremely well and I would certainly recommend following the advice to use only low to mid temperatures as heat transfer seems very efficient. In summary; well designed, well made and a pleasure to use. I love it.

Sad though it is, I love my new pan! I spent ages looking online and in shops, trying to find a stainless steel casserole pan, and the Le Creuset seemed to be the best. It's well made, no non-stick coating, no holes in the lid, no screws to come undone, no glass lid to scratch. But best of all, it cooks like a dream; you only need to use low to medium heat with it - something clever to do with the way it's constructed - cleans up fabulously in the dishwasher, and best of all, looks beautiful. In fact it's so lovely, I bought another one, the 24 cm one for smaller dishes.

I bought this pan because I love the Le Creuset pans and my cast iron one was just too heavy to manage as I get older. Trying to pour food out of it was a disaster. I find my pan is a dream to wash, nothing sticks and it is a great shape. I have the 30 cm one. BUT I find the handle of the lid is much too hot to use when I want to take a peek at something bubbling on the stove. I have never had this problem with any other pan, so there must be ways of insulating the lid handle on the hob and allowing it to survive a reasonably hot oven.

Bought this product to replace an old and worn Habitat non-stick sauté pan. What I like about this pan is the size - it is both a good diameter and also has plenty of depth for holding lots. Took a little bit of getting used to as it does heat up very quickly and so had to adjust cooking temperatures lower in order to avoid sticking. Would be good to have an option for a glass lid instead of the stainless steel (you can get one but have to buy it as an extra lid!). All in all a good pan after a little getting used to it.

I decided to go back to stainless steel after two hard anodised shallow casserole pans rusted. My other stainless steel pans have lasted for 30 years and are still going strong and hopefully this casserole will last the same. I already have lots of the Le Creuset cast iron saucepans and casseroles which are great to look at and cook with, although heavy. The stainless steel also looks good, cooks well but has the advantage of being lighter to lift.

My girlfriend has the cast iron equivalent of this dish, and, functionally at least, the stainless version is superior in every way. Deeper, lighter, easier to clean, appears to heat more evenly and, imho, the stainless looks better. Ok, the cast iron stuff is very nice to look at, but for the business of actually cooking something, Le Creuset's stainless 3-ply range is the best.Cast iron for a lifestyle statement, stainless to cook on.

I have just switched back to stainless steel cookware and am not disappointed with my purchase. I tend to cook a lot of different cuisines and found this to be a great size pan (we are a family of 5).Retains heat so easy to cook on a low heat, cleans well and looks like new every time.Great value for money!

2.4.2021

Relatively easy to keep clean if you follow the instructions without being a 'non stick' coated product. Great for paellas and similar and very presentable on the table. It is pricey but it is very good quality and will probably be in use for many years to come

I didn't dislike anything! This shallow casserole was at a very good discount and it is quite large. It is so much lighter than the ceramic models. I have used it on my induction hob so far and it cooks and retains heat very well. Highly recommend.

I needed a pan that was big enough to cook a large joint of meat. This fits the bill beautifully. It will take. Large chicken or a whole shoulder of lamb comfortably. It' looks good on the table as a serving dish and is easy to clean. A great buy!

An amazingly useful bit of cooking ware, beautifully made and very adaptable for all sorts of dishes especially those that need a bit of a saute or putting in the oven to finish off. Gets used a lot!
