Great for lifting lids. Read the instructions properly, watch a few of the videos too and practice a few times-it is as easy as it looks.Quite simply it opens the original seal which allows you to lift the lid from the tin. There is a pair of small teeth that can clasp the lid and lift it off for you(this part is quite awkward until you've good practice as it is a small jaw on the large handle and hidden by the main lever). All with no scrapes or cuts in the metal-or you! Also good to note is that the tool does not get dirty so no rust like the traditional tin openers.The newer version has an extra leaver allowing easier grasping of the lid as it opens the jaws and closes them without having

I bought this to replace a very old Zyliss can opener, which is no longer made (the replacement model had varied & lacklustre reviews). This is light, less bulky than the Zyliss & easy to clean.I've pleased with it: it grips cans well, it's easy to remove the lid afterwards and it leaves a safe edge. BUT if you don't follow the instructions which tell you to ~not~ go round the edge more than once you might end up with a nasty sliver of metal. As long as you bear that in mind, all is well. But that's why I give it 4* instead of 5.

This is as good as the larger one with the ring pull on the end which this one is replacing. I do find this style takes a bit of time to get used to but is great when you do. Word of warning ... the instructions say to turn the knob back slightly at the end of the opening process, I have found this leaves a dangerous sharp point of metal and that just opening the handles at the end of cutting leaves it as it should be, nice and smooth.

Super product. It took me a few tries to get the hang of it, but love it and have thrown out my old 'stand-by' openers. No longer needed and certainly not a patch on this. It stays clean because no part of it penetrates into food, no bits of metal are cut off to drop into food and very importantly NO SHARP EDGES! Also easy on my arthritic hands and wrists and I can even open cans with either hand. Great design, highly recommended.

Got this to replace a similar or possibly the same brand of tin opener that I bought over 15 years ago. Works just as well as I can remember the old one did as new. Really pleased although new product is not as weighty but I guess that it's more to do with the type plastic used. Seems sturdy enough but only time will tell. Will be pleased if it lasts even half the time as it cost less than my original purchase all those years ago.

Great can opener, I didn't find it difficult to use like some people have experienced. Just be patient the first time then you don't even have to think about it after that. There's no mess at all and it's so much safer. It feels really nice aswell, very smooth. I'll never go back to the old style now. Love it!

Had a pink one previously and made the mistake of buying a different brand to replace it, so after a throwing it out along with the can I tried to open I bought another Kuhn Rikon, these are magic, opens any can first time and without creating any sharp edges, kids and adults can use safely and with ease

Got this for farther in law who was buying cheap and nasty tin openers and breaking after a couple of tins opening.We have got the same one so we thought we would get it for him.He even said its a dream to use and very easy to use.Recommend this tin opener to anyone reading this.

I love this can opener. We've had about 4 different conventional can openers in the past 3 months and they've all quickly become unaligned and useless despite 5/10 year guarantees. This beauty however is really easy to use and if standing test of time! Hurrah!

this is fantastic, once you use it you'll never go back.It made choosing gits for a few birthdays easy and they all loved it you won't be disappointed, no sharp edges the lid also fits back on.in my top 5 best things I ever bought.

I found this item a bit tricky to use the first couple of times, it took me a while to get comfortable with it. IlOnce you’ve cracked using it, it takes the lids off really nicely and there are no sharp edges that I have noticed.

this has to be the best can opener I have ever used I have had electric ones that only last a short time and the hand ones are hard to turn but this one is dead simple and leaves no sharp edge its swiss made so there you go

How sad do I feel getting excited about a can opener! This is fantastic. So easy to use. Really neat cut. No more half open tins that you can hardly get in because the ring pull hasn't worked properly. Simply brilliant.

So far with a month of use, the can opener is fantastic. It cuts easily and the non-sharp soft edges are great. The item is well made and works accurately, So I see the blade staying sharp for a long time.

Quality construction and will remove tin lids with no sharp edges and minimum of fuss. Just make sure to follow the instructions fully on the packaging. Top drawer equipment and highly recommended.
