Good effective lock;easy to mount on bike;easy to use;great when bike not left for long. For me this lock provides very good security for those times when a cycle is overlooked. This suits me, as I rarely leave my bike unattended for long periods of time. Given even a short period of time I'm sure the cables could be cut, but as this would need bolt croppers, and if the bike was in a busy place, then I think it likely a thief would look for an easier target. This lock is great when you want to nip into the pub, where the bike can be seen, maybe through the window, but you want to lock it to some fixed object so you dare take your eyes off it for a minute.I like the fact that the lock mounts easily on the frame, and is very unobtrusive. I carry the cables in my pack, but they could be carried coiled plugged into the lock. The lock mount can be fixed to the frame using the bottle cage bosses, which is the best option as I see it, or it can be fixed to any tube using the locking strap. The lock itself them simply snaps to the mount. This gives greater flexibility, so you could remove the lock completely and leave it at home to reduce weight, or to lend to someone with the cables. It could be removed from the mount to give greater flexibility in positioning the lock when locking to a fixed object, or it can remain on the mount. The lock has two sockets, both released with the same key at the same time. The cables have a corresponding plug at one end and a small loop on the other. To lock the bike the cable is passed through the frame members and/or wheels, the plug passed through the loop on the other end, and then snap s into the socket. With two cables it is easier to lock both wheels to the bike, and/or two bikes together. The cables are coiled tightly, and have a captive velcro strap to keep them coiled. They can be carried plugged into the lock, though as the coils are about 100mm dia, this is a bit bulky, hence my preference to carry them in the pack. Or you could carry only one cable, saving weight but compromising slightly of security and flexibility. As there are two cables, any thief would have to cut both. There is another Kryptonite cable that has the plug on both ends, and this single cable passes through the frame and wheels and each end plugs into a socket to form a complete loop.Only minor issue is that due to the coiling of the cable, it can be a little awkward passing the end through frames, wheels, etc, but the alternative is aAt the right price (around £15.00) this is a great product for basic security. You can also get spare lock mounts for your second bike, but as there was only about £3.00 between the cost of the mount and the cost of the whole kit, I just got a second lock.

This is a handy lock. As most locks are a deterrent rather than a secure solution this does well. I am pretty sure that, as with all locks, it could be removed. However I would also suggest that this presents a big enough challenge to the opportunist thief to leave it alone. The flexibility of the two cables adds much more functionality. This means you can lock your bike in loads of different combinations and anchor it to a secure point at the same time.I do remove the cables and keep them in a bag instead of on the frame. I find they get in the way a bit when riding. This isn't a problem for me because I always have a bag if I am going any kind of distance. If I am off road I don't need the lock.I have locked the plate to one of the water cage points which feels more secure than using the strap that is supplied. It makes it feel more secure, however it's good to remember that it isn't a secure anchor point and it shouldn't be treated as one.All round a competent little locking system that binds both front and rear wheel to a secure anchor point. I wouldn't trust it to a £3000 frame but I'm yet to find any lock that I would lol.One very small point, I needed 20mm cage bolts to fix it to the mountings.

I bought this lock when I got a new bike, in order to replace my previous cheap lock. Initially, it took a few minutes to make sense of the mounting instructions, but since then I have had no problems at all. I use my bike every day going to work and to do shopping, and I believe that the fact that it is locked up with two cables, one through the front wheel, one to the back wheel, acts as a deterrent for potential bicycle thieves. The system is easy to use and the cables are long enough to feed not only through the wheel but also around bicycle stands or lamp posts. To be fair, I have to mention that I don't live in a bad area and I couldn't say how the cables would withstand any serious attempts with cable cutters, but again, the fact that the bike is secured with two separate cables would certainly discourage thieves who look for easy and quick opportunities. In conclusion: This lock is worth its money if you are looking for a reliable, secure locking system.

I use that lock as alternative heavy lock for my bike. it's much easier to cycle with and easy to strap to your saddle when not in use. Looks very solid and works perfectly for me :)

Great piece of kit - looks the part - stows on the bike well and is flexible enough to attach the bike to most street furniture or the kids bikes.
