Though the cube is time-consuming to fill, and is difficult - if not impossible - to clean properly, it keeps all of my dogs occupied for meals a lot longer than they would be without it! I love that I can fit large and small pieces of kibble and they'll all come out (eventually) without any clogs. I've been able to get 5 of my 6 dogs interested in this food puzzle to varying degrees of attention, with the most zealous ones making a game of batting it around the house with their paws, flipping it with their noses, and even rolling around on the floor with it until every last bit of food is expelled. It is fairly loud banging around on a hard floor, but it's not too obnoxious. If I do have a day where I don't want to listen to it, I either lay a few of the myriad of dog-reserved towels/blankets/rugs down on the floor, or I feed them from one of the quieter food puzzles I have. It's only for about 20-30 minutes, though, and it helps to tire them out, so it's not a huge sacrifice. I've seen in other reviews that some dogs have been able to pull out the center piece, but I make sure mine is always locked and I keep an eye on my pups when they're using any food puzzle so that they don't destroy them. These are not toys, they're not unbreakable with enough effort, and they should be put away when not being used for treats or meals. Overall, I'm very happy with this newest addition to our food puzzle assortment and will keep it in heavy rotation as long as I can!

I have a very energetic terrier/retriever mutt (50lbs) and bought this as a toy to provide more stimulation at meal time. It's very sturdy, hard plastic, which I need because my dog destroys most toys. This things has taken a real beating and is still in great shape. It's pretty scratched up on the outside, but its integrity is intact. The type of plastic makes it impossible for my dog to lift and drop it, which I consider a huge plus. The inner piece is removable for cleaning, which is nice but I haven't done, I only put dry food in it and would not recommend anything else goes in it.The biggest downside of this item is sound. It's a pretty loud toy, as it's plastic rolling around on hard floors with lots of kibble inside.Definitely not something to give a dog when you want a quiet conversation or relaxation. I have downstairs neighbours and wonder how much of a racket it makes, but so far they haven't complained. As a result of the noise, I never use it at breakfast. I imagine this item would be better if used on carpet, because it would probably be a lot quieter. The good parts definitely outweigh the downsides, I would recommend this item!

We have been trying as much as possible to feed our Scottish Terrier puppy from toys such as this and Kongs etc rather than from a bowl. I really think it is helping him become more intelligent and entertained, as well as freeing up our time whilst he is busy with his toys.He loves this Buster Cube. We use Lily's Kitchen puppy kibble in it and it fits really well. He chases it around and moves it with his nose and paws, also learning about frustration as it doesn't always dispense the food straight away and sometimes it gets stuck (e.g. in a corner) so he is learning to move it with his paws when it is stuck. It's brilliant - I don't know why you would throw their food down in a bowl so they can gobble it down in 10 seconds and then be bored rather than taking 1 minute to put the food in this instead. It takes him ages to tip it all out and afterwards he settles down for a nap, tired from the mental stimulation and running around. Also very entertaining for us to watch him!

At the recommendation of our trainer, I feed my seven month old Golden Retriever his mid-day meal from this toy as a mental and physical way to burn off some excess energy now that is is too hot to play outside in the afternoon. I place pillows under our two arm chairs so it doesn't get trapped underneath and let him tumble the cube around the great room. It takes him about 5 minutes to completely empty as opposed to less than one minute to gulp his food from his bowl. He gets very excited and barks as he chases it around gobbling the food as it falls out. It can get a bit noisy but it is very worth a few minutes of kibble rattling and happy barking for my dog to have fun and get some neededstimulation.

My terrier loved his 'ordinary' Buster Cube, but after over a year of intensive use, he finally managed to get the central piece out and chew it to pieces. I bought this as a replacement, and it is even better than the old one. There is no longer a central core, and initially I was worried that food would fall out too quickly and easily. However, it does not. Loading the cube is much easier, and larger pieces of food can be used, which means that my dog now gets the bulk of his food from his cube. The new soft plastic is very much quieter than the old cube, even on hard floors. My only criticism is that this cube is marketed as being red. It is, in fact, pink. Luckily, the dog hasn't noticed.

My dog loves this cube. Her eyes light up while I am filling it. She pounces on it, whacks it around the floor and loves when she 'finds' the treats that fall out.I also have a treat ball for her which is easier to work and I think that she might not have figured out how to use this cube if she had not already had the ball first.I love it because it keeps her amused for longer than the treat ball, (though I also recommend the treat ball). She is not the best eater in the world but the challenge of the cube makes it interesting and exciting for her and she always finishes the kibble from it.It is quite solid and there are no bits that can break off it.

Not easy to clean as it doesn’t come apart, so would just have to fill it up and slosh water around then empty and leave to dry. BUT otherwise AMAZING! I bought this when my puppy was going off his boring dry food he has been eating basically forever (it’s only in one flavour- boring!) then put the food in here with a few treats and he loved it! Kept him busy and he enjoyed working for the food. I’d use his bowl and he wouldn’t be interested. I got it when we were visiting my mum and loved it so much I bought another for home. Though this time the larger version to encourage him to push with his nose (otherwise he uses his paws).

Pig likes this one better than the spherical ones (perhaps because it is easier and he gets more pellets faster). It does sound like a plastic cube rolling around, but I expected that. I use it outside most of the time. I like that I can find it easily in the yard because of the purple color since it does get pushed all over the place. I haven't tested max capacity, but I can easily fit 1/4 cup of pellets in there. These pellets are a little bigger than grains of rice (think small animal like rabbit food pellet size). Hence easy put into the mini cube and easily come out.

I got this because my bullmastiff puppy eats like a pig and I was hoping this would slow his meal times down. It does, it takes him about 15-20 minutes to empty the cube when it's full, and he gets some mental stimulation at the same time. Not sure he actually ENJOYS the process, he sometimes gets angry and throws the cube around or tries to bite into it, but generally he seems happy enough to bat it around the floor if I only use it for one of his meals a day.As others have already mentioned, this version of the cube is not adjustable, nor does it come apart to clean.

While "shelter-in-place," we were looking at things for our furkids to do. I came across an article in which a national nonprofit recommended this product for keeping our pets busy. Suffice it to say, all three of our dogs LOVED this toy. So much so, we ended up having to pick it up and keep it out of sight at times because they loved getting the treats out of it. They were all vying for time to play with it. That, to me, speaks volumes on this particular toy.PROS: Durability, easy to use, GREAT for keeping our dogs' attention!CONS: none noted

The only reason this product doesn't get 5 stars from me is because it's slow to fill and it can't be opened and cleaned. I have a 60 pound lab border collie mix who has chewed through all types of durable chew toys and anything KONG has like ever made but she has yet to make a dent in this. I bought both the soft and hard version and I LOVE the soft one best it's quieter when she's rolling it around for food! If your dog likes puzzles and working for their food I absolutely recommend this! By far the best food puzzle item I've ever owned.

I have two dogs and neither of them have been able to figure out this puzzle yet. I have bought quite a few dog puzzles and this one is probably the most difficult one. Despite the fact that it is a difficult puzzle, my dogs still seem to enjoy it and want to play with it.If you are looking for an easier dog puzzle I would recommend a kong or something like the Bob-A-Lot Interactive Dog Toy which is also sold on Amazon. I would say my dogs enjoy using these toys more than the Food Cube because they are able to get a lot more treats out.

So, I have a corgi that is alone while I am at work. He destroys pretty much any toy you give him fairly quickly if it is one that has food in it, even the extreme kong toys (last one I bought lasted about a week). This thing is AMAZING.It is made of hard plastic, with no real places he can grip it with his teeth, and it stands up to everything he has thrown at it.It holds a good 5+ large handfulls of dogfood, and comes appart and goes bacj together super easily. Just twist the green part. And my dog loves it.

I have a seeing eye dog and due to stay at home orders my dog was getting bored. It was a suggestion from my training school to get this puzzle feeding toy. It was difficult to open for loading the food. I did what it said roll it a few times to show the dog how it works. Well, it took my dog about 5 minutes to decide I was to roll and he would clean up. Then came the puzzle for me. How do you get the thing apart to clean it. It is not easy to do. My dog just is too smart he is not going to work himself that hard.

Have had a Buster cube for years with my 10 year old dog that just died loved it. We got a new puppy and she loves it just as much. However she took it outside one day and it rained. We did not find it until the next day and it mildewed on the inside and had no way to get to the inside. I had it so long I forgot what it was called. Ultimately found it and happy to find the inside slot comes out.Lucy is again hitting it all over the house!! Great toy!!!!
