The Volca kick is such a lovely idea, very tactile and it has a nice tone, but unfortunately it has a very high noise floor, clearly audible in a recording and numerous tracking issues. It is almost never in tune and misses transients when sequenced. This may have been a problem with my unit itself, but having researched the product when considering whether to exchange or return it seems other users have experienced similar issues. You can sample a kick when the transients are there, tune it with tools in your daw and gate or filter the noise floor, but to me that defeats the object of its main attribute, being speed of workflow.
