It's not often you find a good toy that has a range of sizes to accommodate different breeds and ages of dogs, but Kong nailed it. You can always trust Kong products this I know and they're all seemingly invincible to damage. That's not an issue with this ball anyway.I bought this with meat flavoured toothpaste, which I squirted into the cracks and then gave it to my dog - she chewed away happily only stopping to lick the paste off her snout from time to time, which was good. I was worried at one point she'd tire out her jaw but she seemed happy. The nice thing about the ball is my original fear that all she would do is lick the stuff out of the grooves proved to be wrong - the grooves areridged and the ball itself is fairly sturdy so her tongue doesn't seem strong enough to pry the rubber apart to get the toothpaste that way, which is great. She's one of those dogs who don't let you near her teeth with those condom finger sock things you can buy to clean their teeth the manual way, and she's also not at all interested in chew toys that aren't balls - like those plastic rings with all the spikes on for example, she never even bothered to sniff it, just ignored it. This ball was a perfect solution for teeth cleaning and worked like a charm. The holes to put a treat in is kind of useful - I've not bothered with mine in all honesty but both sides of the ball have different sized holes to allow different sized treats to be put in, which is good. The ball is also fairly hollow also, so it'd even be possible to fill it with biscuits or something to make an activity out of your dogs play session too. Also, thanks to the treat holes the saliva doesn't get stuck inside the ball and go manky, which is a much appreciated feature.Honestly the only issue with this thing is thanks to the design shape it bounces randomly and unpredictably - I don't advise throwing it indoors if you have objects you value close by. It's also difficult to bounce round corners - something I like to do with my dog from the rooms I'm in so it gets more run time - because of the shape.Other than that though, it seems fantastic, and has remained a favourite toy to her. Great purchase, very happy.

I had always balked at buying Kong toys because they are expensive and, honestly, every toy that claimed to be "indestructible" turned out to be no match for our maulers. Let me explain, best guess is that our rescue girl is a 35# Red Heeler - Kelpie cross. Pound-for-pound, she is one of the toughest dogs I've ever had, and she is all about play. I suspect her motto is "play hard, sleep well." She has destroyed knotted rope toys, canvas toys, and regulation tennis balls (she chews them like gum and pops them). She's not really a chewer. She just plays hard, and needs toys as tough as she is. She loves to toss her own ball, chase it down, and mash it flat in her jaws. She also loves to pounce and bat balls around like a cat. We tried everything, but nothing could survive more than a month or two. Then I tried the Stuff-A-Ball from Kong. I bought these in December (7 months and counting), and it's still going strong. Finally... success! Now about the ball. The small size is about 2 1/4" across, about the size of a baseball or tennis ball. Perfect for a smaller dog. The "stuffing" rows make it very easy to grab, but don't seem to cause any problems as far as hanging up on her teeth or toenails. I have never "stuffed" this ball with treats (especially not the gooey kind) for two reasons: 1) it's messy and they start to stink if not thoroughly cleaned regularly, and 2) there hasn't been a need to. She loves it just as it is. I love the flexibility, which allows her to work her jaws to her heart's content. I also love the ridges that help keep her teeth clean. As for the durability... after 7 months of hard play, there's still not a mark on it. Her 80# Lab-Pitt rescue brother has stolen it a few times, and even his mauling hasn't been able to cause damage. There is one drawback... she's a slobberer, and this holds so much drool that I have to wear a glove when we play or it's hard to hang on to. I will definitely buy another when this one wears out... but odds are it will either be lost or we'll all be old and grey before that happens.

This toy is the best way to occupy your dog for a good amount of time! I break up some of his beggin strips and put them inside. Also I make a mixture of peanut butter and coconut oil to put in the crevices on the outside. I pop it in the freezer for a short while so the peanut butter and coconut oil harden up that way it takes him just that much longer to get everything out! I have a six month old black lab and he absolutely loves this thing! He gets all giddy and bounces around when he sees it in my hand. It's fun to watch them try to get those treats out of the inside, he flips it around with his nose and paws at it until something falls out the hole. Then he carries it off to his spot to work at licking out the peanut butter concoction. I know I'm going to love having this when we have to take a road trip! But for now we will just use his treaty ball for when we leave home and he's all alone.I do have a regular Kong, and he likes that too, but he licks stuff out of that one way too fast. We find that this one is much more of a challenge for him! And like the original Kong, this is made out of the same tough material which so far maverick has not been able to chew through! So I would definitely recommend this treat ball to any and every dog owner.Hopefully my review has been somewhat helpful for you!

My 11 month old gsd likes to chew on this despite me not stuffing it as instructed. I tend to use the black extreme kong for that as it makes less mess (i've found) and is easier to clean. I tend to fill this with dry biscuits and a few treats mixed in just to keep him entertained. He throws this one round the room and regularly bounces it off the walls and furniture so definitely not one for quiet time (but that might just be my pooch). The black one he does lie down with but he will chuck that at the end to get the last bits out so he chucks them regardless. He does chew on this one when the treats/food are all gone though and he doesn't do that with the black one so thats a plus. This one is a lot heavier than the other but as far as Kongs go I find them invaluable at keeping him entertained (he rarely sleeps during the day). I use both on a daily basis and they are standing up to the test of time so well worth the money.

I looove this ball. It keeps smart dogs busy, and working for their food. The concept of treat and reward is brilliant.I've watched several dogs play with this ball and each have a certain technique with it. I've had a Corgi roll the ball around with it's nose, herding it into a corner until treats come out. I've had a Poodle mix, chase the ball down, hold it with his paws, and occasionally squeezing the treats out. I've had a Golden Retriever pick and drop the ball. Regardless of the dog, they've all loved it. Some dogs, the less cleaver one can't really figure how to get the food out, so for them I just smear peanut butter on the sides. It's a little messy,so my recommendation would be to have them play with it in a smaller space, with no carpet. The Kong cleans up easily as well. I normally rinse it under water and use a little soap and let it air dry. When I'm lazy I'll put it in the dish washer.

I have a 14 year-old 40 lb American Eskimo that can clean out the medium red Kong toys in no time flat--even if I freeze them and get creative with my stuffing. I switched to the medium black Kong toys for more aggressive chewers, and that slows her down a little. But this ball toy tops them all.I use the Kong Snaps, Stuff 'n' spray and Ziggies, and she'll usually wear out and curl up, satisfied, before it's empty. She's never really been interested in fetching, but this toy never fails to excite her and ignite her hunt instinct.Update: this has been through a second dog--a lab--and a third (puppy) is now sinking her teeth into it. The lab had it for a year and a half, beginning as a puppy.Yes, the toy is beat up, but I dare say it will make it another year and a half with my current puppy (who is also a lab).

I purchased this for my 14 month old black lab mix. He has very high energy and is constantly needing things to keep him busy and challenged. Loading this ball with biscuit treats did not work, as he is very smart and was able to dislodge them too quickly. I now freeze canned chopped dog food in the ball and this keeps him enertained for hours. He does not like peanut butter, but that would also work with this product. Very well made with strong, durable rubber. Using frozen dog food that he must continue licking out of the ends, he has never once tried to destroy the rubber or ball itself so far, this product is one of his favorite toys and activities.Kong brand toys seem to be the most durable with my constantly chewing lab.

I have a 5 pound tea cup Maltese and I also have 2 cats all her other toys would get covered in cat hair and I became increasing concerned about her ingesting the cats hair. I had gotten her a kong before which she never played with but I was willing to give this one a try. When I got it I washed it thoroughly in soap and hot water (because it smelled like rubber straight from the factory) and then i filled it with her normal food and gave it to her. She was confused at first but after about 5 mins, she set about the task of finding a way to get every scrap of food out of this thing. After she had done that she continued to play with it.She bought it over to be to throw for her and she hasn't let it go since.

Order arrived really late. Other than that, my dog loves this toy. He has been using this for years. I'd say this ball has withheld about 1 year of use before I had to get a new one. My veterinarian said his teeth look great and to keep doing what I was doing. This ball is supposed to help remove tarter on teeth. Even if that is not the case, this ball has always kept my dog entertained. I like that this was something I trained him with when he is told to 'get your red ball' at treat time. Keeps his mind strong too. I would definitely recommend this ball. This ball is offered in size choices to suit your dog. The ball does need to be washed regularly because of the food and saliva in it.

Our 30 lb Rat Terrier LOVES this! The opening is perfectly shaped on one end to break a Dentastix into about 5 pieces and put it inside. He is not one for "chewing" items in our home, but was never interested in any "toy" other than a tennis ball. Not other balls...just a tennis ball. Our dog won't play with stuffed animal squeaky toys, rope toys, etc. Until we found this. Keeps him pretty totally engaged for about 1-2 hours to get the "treat" inside. So now if we say get the "ball" it's still the tennis ball; if we say get the "toy" he shows up immediately with the Kong Stuff-A-Ball. Our dog vigorously chews this and it has held up everyday now for over 1 month. Best investment EVER!

got a rescued adult dog, 3 years old. he was used to playing with plastic bottles and dog bones. this toy was almost a flop. he wasn't sure how to get the treats out and i pretty much gave up on it as a mind challenging treat dispenser. however, my dog walker stuffed it before she left and when I got home, he got so excited and grabbed the ball and began chewing it. when treats came out, he got super excited and chewed even harder. i watched him continue to play with it for the next twenty minutes. he pretty much got all the treats out of it and now he understands how it works. since that day, he enjoys playing with it.so don't give up! they will figure it out if you keep trying.

I have the Kong extreme large, starmark everlasting treat wheel, Kong on/off whale squeaker in large and medium, Kong extreme ball, various tug ropes, and this is my 30 lb Australia cattle dog's favorite.I don't even stuff it with anything, just Kong easy treat on the ridges. my dog chews and licks for a long time. best part is she doesn't bounce it on hardwood floor and possibly annoy neighbors. just very quiet, busy entertainment.I've monitored her for a while and she, normally very aggressive chewer, has not made a dent. maybe other negative reviews stuffed the ball (its def harder to get food in/out). but if you don't, this dental wonder is a dream come true

My dog has destroyed countless toys, but this one has lasted over a year and a half so far. We just bought a second one so we could always have one clean and ready to be filled. We fill it with peanut butter and it gives him half an hour or so of entertainment. He's a big dog so it would probably last even longer for little dogs. It can also be frozen if you want to give your dog a longer challenge.**Edit: After reading other customer reviews I want to note that you need to get one that's the right size for your dog. My 65lb pit has the large one and that's perfect for him; if we got something smaller, he'd be able to tear it apart.

First off, let me say that I never write reviews, but this one is worth it! My wife and I have a 1 yr old lab/mix and she has literally destroyed every toy we have ever gotten her. Not to beat up on KONG, but their toys never last. NEVER. That is why I am very shocked and happy to say that this is the one exception. We got this for our dog for Christmas and she loves it! We stuff a treat in there every time we leave the house and at first it occupied her for hours. Now, she has found a way to get it out quicker, regardless she loves it and plays with it for hours, she even chews on it. Almost two months later, still in one piece!

My dog absolutely loves this toy! She is 43 lbs and loves to chew, she has had a classic kong for over a year still in tact and I bought this one for her. It arrived yesterday and she literally has spent almost every minute on it. I put treats in it and she is still trying to get them out lol. She doesn't give up too easily. It kept her busy for like 2 hours yesterday when I was occupied with business. I recommend this toy for anyone who has a dog that either loves to chew or wants them to be occupied for a few hours. My dog was so excited and happy for her new toy that she came and gave me kisses, her way of saying thank you.
