As advertised. A bit expensive vs. other water bottles but probably worth it.It will keep cold water cold 24+ hours. Note: I have yet to test in AZ 100+ degree temperature. So far in winter @ 75 degrees, does the job. My main use is for hiking. KK is also heavier & more awkward to use than my other (Nalgene) water bottles. That is why I gave 4 rather than a perfect 5 star review. I clipped onto my small waist pack belt with a medium size carabiner. It swings too freely & loudly bangs against rocks & I definitely feel the extra weight. When have ice in it (which is not always necessary) it is very loud as ice clanks against the metal.Other hikers have actually commented.Prior system was Nalgene 1 liter bottle with Outdoor Research water bottle parkaMy O.R. bottle parka weighs 4.0 oz.My Tall 1 liter bottle weighs 5.75 oz.Total old bottle system = 9.75 OzKK:15 oz! + ~ ½ oz. For carabinerTotal new, KK bottle system = 15.5 Oz.So, new system weighs 5.75 oz MORE.My issue with old system was zippers kept breaking on O.R. parka. But, it attaches to belt for hiking with no swinging or clanking & is easier to drink out of while walking with the smaller opening. Also, can freeze ~ ⅓ full by putting Nalgene in freezer night b4 as long as cap off. Absolutely can not/should not do this with insulated KK! Will void warranty. To drink out of KK I must stop since wide mouth is like drinking out of a cup rather than from a water bottle where one can place entire opening in mouth so no spills. That being said, if you carry the KK inside a daypack & only remove to drink at rest stops or carry in car, it is superb & would get 5 stars. It is a matter of personal preference & drinking habits.I’ve gone back to my old system for hiking & will have the KK as a backup for long hikes where I bring multiple liters of water. As I empty my carried Nalgene bottle inside the parka, I will refill it with my KK COLD water.

A dollar short and a day late - seems to be the way I roll. I am just now jumping on the insulated bottle wagon. Based on the reviews of others, I decided to purchase my first insulated stainless steel bottle. It arrived the other day and I was able to test it out. I washed it in hot soapy water, dried it out and when I was ready to go, I filled it up with about 6 ice cubes and some filtered water - hopped in my SUV - placed my Kanteen in the cup holder and headed into town to do my exciting, 6 stop errand and shopping trip. It's been pretty hot here and the day I went it was 93 degrees. As I stated, I had 6 stops to do that early/mid afternoon and was gone for approximately 5 hours. Two of those stops were grocery shopping, so my Kanteen was left in my car for those two errands. Although I finished my water and then some from the melted ice - there was STILL ice in my bottle when I got home!Today I took my Kanteen poolside, and although my water didn't last long as I sucked it down, I still had ice in my bottle when I came in 2 hours later. That may not be impressive to you all as in essence I did not put my bottle to any rigorous tasks - but I was surely impressed and now feel I need a much bigger bottle than 20 oz - as the water stays cold enough that I actually enjoy drinking it.**** 9/3/16I have had the chance to use my water bottle several times when out and about in the car (as well as daily when home) and I cannot tell you how impressed I am. I really have NO idea how I made it without one. It just amazes me that I can have ice cold water ALL day! I love my Kanteen so much I just placed an order for another for my son, so he too can have a cold drink when traveling. We purchased the sippy bottle cap for him - I'll be sure to write a review.

Purchased 2 of these for my boys as replacements for the Dasani water bottles they take to school every day. I wanted to cut down on the cost of buying bottled water so often, as well as be more "green" and eco friendly. My first thought was that these are extremely well made. Very solid, but not too heavy for my 9 and 11 year old kids. I thought that the surface might attract nasty finger prints, but hand and finger oils don't seem to make marks, so far. Cleaning the outside and inside for initial use was easy. The inside I simply ran super hot water in it and put some Dawn in it and rinsed it out for 2 or 3 minutes.I may end up purchasing the sports cap, as unscrewing the lid is fairly noisy, unless you put pressure down on the cap consistently while spinning it. My kids will be drinking these potentially during class time and the metallic clanking noise may be an issue for the teachers. As a test I filled one of these all the way with tap water at the hottest temperature possible and the other with cold tap water with a handful of full sized ice cubes and left them both for nearly 24 hours (closer to 20). I was extremely impressed with the results. The hot water's temp had only dropped slightly. The cold water's temp was still extremely cold. Ice cold, in spite of the cubes themselves having melted.Great bottles and about $10 cheaper than you can find at retail stores like Whole Foods. The build quality is great and they'll last a long time, as long as my kids don't lose them at school first... :-\

This is the best purchase I've made in years! I've known about insulated bottles for years, but I had always been skeptical of their appeal. I don't need my water to be ice cold, nor do I want hot beverages to stay scalding for hours. What I failed to consider is that there's a huge happy medium between "ice cold" and "scalding," and what a good insulated bottle lets you do is pick a point along that continuum and stay there. I use this bottle daily at work, and it keeps the Goldilocks temperature of the water that comes out of the filter—not too cold, not too warm. Just right.I write this review mainly in the hopes of reaching other skeptics with the life-changing news that having beverages stay at your desired temperature all day is wonderful. It also comes with other fringe benefits, like preventing the condensation that gets your stuff wet in summer. You can leave an insulated bottle in a hot car or bag and come back to cold water instead of lava. The first time this happens, it feels almost like sorcery. Then you get used to outfoxing physics and just enjoy the water. The only thing that's not so great is that you have to REALLY crank the lid closed to make it water tight—I've had it leak in my bag a few times because I didn't tighten it enough. All in all, though, this bottle delivers a huge quality-of-life improvement for very little money. When was the last time $30 changed your life?

This thing is awesome! I have bring it to work, the gym, on backpacking trips and fishing trips. So in other words, I got a LOT of use out of it in the last 6 months. The description says that it keeps ice for 24 hours... that's without melting! I measured, and it keeps a chunk of ice for about 3 days! I haven't actually tried it with hot food or drink, but I'm sure it lives up to the description. As far as durability goes, its a medium. That's why it got only four instead of five stars. I have dropped it from my hand to the ground, so maybe 3 feet ( I'm about 6'2 ish, so you get the idea.) Anyway, I dropped it, and it put a dent the size of a nickel on the bottom rim, so it doesn't sit perfectly level anymore.Still can stand upright, but kind of crooked if you get what I'm saying. It does scratch too, but (redneck moment) if you spray some heavy duty weatherproof spray paint on it, it will hide that and defend against any more scratches. Oh! And if you want to wash it, either use a bottle brush or put dishsoap in it and shake it up. Don't microwave it, freeze it, or dishwasherize it. ( I know its not a word.) Overall, as long as you're not going to Afghanistan on a deployment expecting this thing to be indestructible, go for it! You won't regret it for the price.

I'm obsessed with this bottle. I take it everywhere and use it for both water and tea on a regular basis. Because I'm a bit skeptical of plastic, though, I ended up buying one of Klean Kanteen's stainless steel/bamboo tops so that I could avoid heating the plastic when I filled it with tea. That said, if you're not as paranoid as I about plastic, this top is perfectly fine and certainly serves its function of containing the heat or cold. I've definitely knocked my bottle over a few more than a couple times, and so far it stands up to the beatings I occasionally give it (*knock on wood*). I would highly recommend this to anyone willing to invest in a high-quality insulated bottle. My only criticism would be for Amazon to ensure better packaging. When I received my bottle roughly a year ago, it was mailed in only a plastic bag. It arrived with a small dent in the bottom. I didn't return it because I time tested it with hot water and compared it with my dad's Klean Kanteen and it passed the test (meaning, it held heat for more than 8 hours and never felt warm on the outside––which would've been a sign that the vacuum insulation had been damaged). That said, it's very possible they have changed the packaging in the past year.

I love the bottle, it's strong, practical and nice looking - everything I needed.I had previously only had glass bottles and I used to break them easily as I am pretty clumsy. This one got a tiny tiny tint when I dropped it on gravel one day, but the paint was not damaged and the bottle functions the same as when I got it.I think the only downside of the bottle is that it keeps stuff cold/hot for very long periods (which is why I bought it, but I didn't think it through, completely my fault), so the drink needs to be planned ahead. As I use the bottle as my everyday water bottle, I empty it several times a day. For that reason, I need to make sure that when I fill the bottle, the water/drink is already in the temperature I want to drink it in. It happened a few times (before I figured it out) that I burned myself with hot tea or got a sore throat because of the really cold water I put into the bottle out of habit. But the few times I really needed the bottle as a termos, it was awesome, the hot drinks stayed perfectly hot for the time needed (I never had to keep cold water for very long as I drank it not much after filling the bottle).Anyway, awesome bottle. :)

This bottle is magic!!!!! It keeps ur drink cold for hours!! Beautifully made.I first got the 64 oz same size as my Bluewave DAILY 8 Water Jug -(64 oz) BPA Free Water Bottle. And man this thing is huge. Its a beast. I have small girl hands so it was hard to grip the bottle w/ one hand. My coworkers would be 'what are u carrying?'. Despite the size it kept my water cold.I would put ice in at 7am and when i get off work around 5pm there's still ice in it. I love ❤ the 64oz bottle but the size was too big so I got the 32 oz. I probably have to refill it twice in a day because I'm use to drinking 64 oz but the bottle is worth it. I kept both sizes. I could use the 32 oz for everyday use and the 64oz I can bring on hikes to share w/my dog. I also got the sports cap. I'm ok ? w/ the cap. Wished it had a cover to cover the part u drink from.I chose this brand over the others because out of all the bottles this is the only brand that said 'responsibly made in china'. All the other bottles I found were made in china. In the end I think it's worth it. I recommend this botthe. They have other klean Kanteen caps that can hold beer ? too..just a thought

My husband and I love our Klean Kanteens (after months with 2 of the liter sized ones we bought 2 coffee ones *those were purchased elsewhere*). They are so easy to clean and keep things hot or cold for so long! The extra money for the insulated ones was totally worth it for us- we're both really busy and try to not spend money on unnecessary things like coffee, tea, smoothies, etc. that we didn't make ourselves at home. With all of those I can still wash mine out and fill it with plain water and it tastes great! We did break down and buy the 20oz coffee ones so we could take our coffee (or tea) and ice water (or smoothie) to work with us- we don't regret that purchase either. We expect these products to last a LONG TIME (the lids will probably have to be replaced sooner, but those can be purchased individually) so the cost was worth it. One thing to note is that some of the colors are matte, whereas others are shiny, so I would make sure to look closely at the picture (or go to the Klean Kanteen website) before purchasing if you care about that.

Let me start by saying that this cup is awesome for hot liquids! I bought this glass in the search of Eco-friendly options. I was not planning on using it for hot liquids, but since I didn't like the way it smelled when using it with water. (Which is not anything to do with the cup itself, I am just a picky water drinker and smells that are different bother me.) I decided to try hot tea in it since I was on the go, and the yeti cup I usually used was dirty. I was very surprised on how long the tea stayed hot. For example: I boiled water this morning at 10am for my tea, and I just now started drinking the tea at 1 pm and it still burnt my tongue. On my commute to school I even left the lid off to try and cool down the tea for at least 20 mins. I have not had another cup that insulates as well as this one. I bought the cafe lid for this cup and use that for hot liquids, its awesome. I wont go back when it comes to hot liquids!

I'm just super bummed that the Winter Lake color I bought isn't matte. It looks a little cheaper and less durable when it isn't matte, and it's also less grippy. Other than that, the bottle keeps my drinks cold, has no metallic/plastic taste, and most importantly (to me) it doesn't sweat. I feel comfortable keeping this in my tote bag all day without having to worry about any water leaking. The bottle itself is a little heavier than I expected, but that's probably due to the double-walled design of the bottle.UPDATE: After a year of usage, the bottle is still in perfect condition. It has proved to be extremely durable, and keeps my drinks nice and cold for serveral hours.I absolutely recommend this bottle to anyone who wants a simple bottle that keeps drinks cold, has a wide mouth for ice, doesn't sweat/leak, and looks sleek.

I absolutely love this bottle. I was looking for something that keeps my drinks cool, is durable, and holds just enough ounces for me to stay sufficiently hydrated without having the annoyance of constantly looking for a water fountain -- this is it! I have Nalgene, Sigg, and a few glass bottles but this is my favorite. There is a slight metallic taste when drinking which I don't mind. I've left the bottle with ice in a hot car as I run errands and it stays cool throughout the day. It's also more dent resistant than my Sigg. The cap is slightly irritating. Because of the insulation it is occasionally hard to twist off -- I'm thinking of switching to another option.I also recommend the stainless steel option with burnished steel because it's scratch resistant I'm now looking to purchase the 60 ounce for just in the house.

This bottle is great: good size, great quality, durable material, smell free. I can see myself taking it with me on many trips to places hot or cold because this bottle keeps temperature of your drink pretty well. The weight is reasonable too.The downside, if any: This bottle does a good but not the greatest job on hot drinks. The length of keeping drink hot is dependent on the amount of water left in the bottle and how hot the water when you put in. The 12 hr is probably the longest you could get under the best possible condition, compared to another bottle I have, the difference is quite noticeable but this is not a deal breaker for me.All in all, I love this bottle. It suits my needs and fit in my life style very well. I got it in pink, very nice color, considering getting it as gifts one day. Highly recommended.

Durable, functional, high quality and it does the job. The insulated bottles do a nice job keeping my water nice and cold, even when I'm sitting at the pool on 100° day. It's kind of crazy to pick up the bottle, which may be warm or even hot to the touch, and to get a drink of nice cold water. We use Vacuum Insulated Klean Kanteens for everyone in my family for our water drinking needs on the go and in the house. It seems obvious but the insulation "works both ways". So, if you pour a cold liquid into the Klean Kanteen, then it will keep it cold. But if you fill your bottle, for example, with regular temperature water and then put it in the refrigerator to get cold ... well,it will take about 24 hours until the liquid inside the Klean Kanteen gets really cold. The vacuum insulation does it job.

Truly does keep water freezing cold for a very long time, so I'm super pleased and impressed with that. I got this to replace my lost Hydro Flask. In comparison, I think the Klean Kanteen keeps water cold a little bit better, but unfortunately it dents sooooo easily. Just a drop from a low chair to the ground caused a big dent, which is a little annoying. I also don't like that the width of the cap is the same width as the part you put your mouth on. So when I'm on a hike with dirty hands, I have to touch the mouth part to open it, which I don't like. The hydro flask cap is wider than the part you drink from, so it doesn't get touched and stays cleaner.Overall I miss my Hydro Flask but this bottle does keep my water super cold even over night, so it's good at that.
