When our ancient toaster stopped doing its job recently I purchased this one. We frequently make our own bread, so I wanted something that would take our long slices without having to half them.I was not disappointed, it handles the longest slices, toasts very evenly and even beeps when the job is done.I have always had difficulty trying to time the toast so that it was still warm enough to butter when my poached or sunny side up eggs are done. That is not an issue now, as the 'keep warm' setting works beautifully! I prefer my toast a little dark but my family likes theirs lighter, with the lift lever this allows them to see when the toast is just right for them, without interrupting the process. The crumb tray is really easy to use unlike my old toaster where if you took it out you could not get it back in without a struggle.Even better, it goes beautifully with my KitchenAid stand mixer in red.i used to try to hide my toaster behind the microwave, but this one has pride of place right on my countertop! It will toast 4 slices of store bought bread all at once and evenly for those BLT dinner nights!I love my new toaster! When is the last time your toaster didn't set off the smoke alarm? Our old toaster did this and out pet bird, a Senegal, seemed to enjoy the alarm by imitating the beeps from the alarm. Well. since purchasing this toaster, all is quiet. After buying this toaster, we experimented with different breads, artisan type breads and bagels, etc for a few days. The toaster came through with flying colors. This toaster has the controls on the front side that makes making adjustments really simple. The Bagel setting along with the keep warm setting are really something that can be used. The toaster has a cord wrap on the bottom of the toaster so you don't have to deal with a long cord and actually have the cord exit where it makes the most sense. Finally, the Black and Chrome finish looks great and makes wiping the body and the top very simple. This toaster is the best looking small appliance on our counter. If you're looking for a long slot, 4 slice toaster that really does what you want it to, then we would suggest that you give this one a try. Perfect toast in a shorter time - seems to work "really" fast. Favorite setting is 4 - very crunchy but not overly browned or hard. Super wide slots accommodate everything. Super long slots good for specialty loaves. Keep warm works perfectly. Does 4 bagel halves, 4 regular bread slices, or 2 really long (like sourdough" slices at a time. Never knew it was possible to get "excited" over a toaster. The lift function is perfect for long, low slices. My husband loves the "ding" whe it's done, as he often gets distracted. And... It's very attractive. Shallow depth but wide, leaves a lot more counter space in front of the toaster for butter, jelly, peanut butter, etc preparation.Actually bought this for our "hostess kitchen" to make I super simple for guests to serve themselves - this is definitely easier (early in the morning) than our "complicated" toaster oven! My husband hated our old toaster. It burned frozen waffles and never toasted bread right. The short cord was a hassle and forget about bagels. But, we both love our Kitchen Aid toaster! It was his Christmas gift and I could see he was disappointed. I reminded him how much he hated the old toaster and how much he swears by Kitchen Aid appliances (2 mixers, various attachments, utensils, etc, etc). Then I handed him the old toaster and promptly opened the trash can. He dropped it in with a big grin and said, "I have a Kitchen Aid toaster!" The toaster performs beautifully no matter what we are toasting and I love how solidly made it is. It's also beautiful on our counter and wipes clean easily. Then again, it is a Kitchen Aid...what else could you expect? [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I bought this toaster primarily for the long slot to toast my homemade dutch oven breads. The other features are a bonus. The defrost and bagel features work excellently. The learning curve to find the perfect level of "toastiness" has varied among family members. My only concern (while only slight) is that the outer elements don't seem to toast quite as evenly as the inner elements. We have decided that that is likely a compromise to allow the bagel setting to make perfectly toasted bagels on the inside and warmed on the outside. I just use the lift to peek feature to make any necessary adjustment like flipping the toast around if necessary. It seems to be more apparent on the lighter settings.Over all the toaster is great. I currently had another brand 4 slice wide slot toaster. My husband loves sourdough and rye bread and the slices never fit in the toaster. I would have to toast one end and then flip it over and do the other end. I saw this KitchenAid long slot toaster at a kitchen store and thought I'd do a bit of research on it. I finally purchased one and I have to say, I am impressed. I love that it will fit larger bread slices or 4 slices of normal bread. But what I like most is that you can raise the bread up to look at it without ending the toast cycle so you don't have to start over if it is not done to your satisfaction. The audible done tone is nice too!!! A winner for my family.......[This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

This toaster has more features than my 10-yr old toaster that was perfectly fine. I replaced it because I had a kitchen renovation, and you know how that snowballs. The 4 slice toaster is attractive, has settings for bagels, reheat, keep warm, and defrost. There is a high lift lever to raise the toast, so no need to jam a knife down it to lift the toast. A pleasant alarm sounds when the toast is ready, and an easy bottom crumb tray pulls out to easily clean. My old toaster was usually shaken upside down over the sink! So, I am thrilled with this one. The reviews mention the inconsistent toasting. True, the toast is not perfectly browned, but that doesn't matter to me.[This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I've had this toaster for about a month. I love the long and wide slots which seem to accomodate any bread I've used so far. The lift and look lever is a great feature to have. I will say, I wish it had a smaller footprint on the counter, but the stainless is really attractive. So far the browning is fairly even and the bagel and defrost features are nice, too. The beep is loud, which some object to, but is okay for my household. I think I got my money's worth. My last long slice toaster was a different brand. It wasn't quite as expensive, nor did it toast quite as evenly. Also only lasted 1 year almost to the day. Hopefully KitchenAid will last longer![This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I had a really old Oster toaster and although it still worked, I wanted a black one to match my other small appliances. After seeing the KA toaster in a high-end department store, I decided to purchase it because I knew it would look great on my counter. I love that the controls are in the front and I really like the bagel button. After toasting my first bagel and having the wrong side get toasted I figured out what I was doing wrong because the toaster slice space doesn't say which way to put the bread in. All'she well now. Thank you, Kitchen Aid, for making such a great product. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I've never had a toaster in my adult life, always using the oven, until I realized that was stupid and I came across a great sale. I really debated between the two slice or the 4 slice and finally decided bigger is better, and I'm so glad I went with this one! It fits stuff with ease, toasts evenly and quickly, and looks gorgeous on my counter with my other KitchenAid items. I will say that if you want a darker toast, doing one cycle at level 6 and one cycle at level 1 seems to work best if you're cold starting the toaster. I absolutely love it! We have gone through numerous brands of toasters trying to find one that works properly in all modes. We finally seem to have found one! In regular toasting mode, the toast is perfect; crunchy on the outside but soft in the middle. Even the defrost mode works properly and the quality of the toast is excellent. In bagel mode, this is the first toaster we have had that actually works correctly. Properly toasting only one side and leaving the other side untoasted. We are very pleased with this purchase. I have only had this piece for a few months but this is a really great toaster. It has the ability to hold thick slices, like bagels, yet it also can fit long slices of bread, like rye, pumpernickel and sourdough without having to toast each end individually which can cause overdone middle!! It is larger than your average toaster because of this feature but it is very sleek. It dies have a crumb tray for clean up and it has a pretty little beep to let you know when your toast is done. LOVE IT. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Sleek, slim design that takes up minimal space on counter top, certainly less than other 4 slice toasters with the added value of being able to accommodate longer slices of bread or rolls if needs be - the main reason I purchased this toaster. It has all the necessary functions - reheat, bagel, defrost, keep warm, etc. - and toasts quickly and evenly. What else could you want of a toaster? I am very satisfied and pleased with this toaster. This toaster's sleek design opens up new versatility in my kitchen. Besides being able to toast four slices of bread at a time, it has a useful warming feature and defrost setting. I find these helpful when preparing breakfast in advance for company. It's great for paninis (w/o cheese) and toasting bagels perfectly. The red is a perfect addition to our stainless steel and black counter kitchen, a splash of beautiful color. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

We use to toast bagels or anything in the oven for years. It seemed like it took forever to do this. The old toaster was too small and we got rid of it. We saw this KitchenAid Long Slot Toaster online and went for it. We were always happy with our KirchenAid Stand Mixer and knew this would be a great quality product. This toaster works great as advertised and is fast and easy to use. We use it daily and love it! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
