I wanted a kettle that would fit better under the tap, so I bought this one; it was an impulsive purchase and I didn't review it or research other products. I've been using this kettle for several weeks now and I really like it. The base stand and lower bottom of kettle are made from plastic, but the rest of the upper and main part of the kettle is all metal which gives a good quality feel along with the metal handle. The handle is insulated with plastic on the connection to the unit which stops heat transfer into the tactile handle. The lid comes off separately, and is made from metal with plastic centre. The water max fill indicator is however inside the kettle and it's just a small metal tab with the word max stamped on.At first I found it tricky to fill and keep an eye on the level, but after these few weeks I've gotten use to it and it's not an issue anymore. The kettle doesn't hold a lot of water but I only heat up what I need, so I don't mind filling up more often. This kettle is noisy when heating up, so if your after a quiet product, then you should look elsewhere. All in all I thinks it's a good product that feels nice quality, and it fits well under my tap. I do think it's a high price for what it is but that's the brand I guess.

This is a great little kettle. It heats up a cup of water for my tea in less time than the microwave can do it and a lot faster than a traditional stove top kettle. It's very pretty too. Another thing I like is that it clicks itself off. I've burned a few traditional kettles dry and ruined them through the years from running outside to check on child because I couldn't hear the whistle. Won't happen with this kettle. Some people have made a big deal about the "plastic" inside. First all, at least two cups of water are below the plastic, and even if not, Kitchen Aid said that it is BPA free. I think we have far more to worry with the toxicity in our environment everyday, everywhere, than the chance of a tiny amount from a little plastic while heating up a cup of water once or twice a day! Seriously! The kettle arrived sooner than expected, was packaged very well, and the kettle was in perfect shape. I am very pleased with every part of my order. This was a recall replacement for the KitchenAid electric kettle we used to have. There was a recall on the handle although ours didn’t seem to have any issues. But since it is a safety concern, KitchenAid gladly replaced our kettle even though it probably had years of life left. The new kettle we received works the same great way as our old kettle. Set your desired temperature and press start. Cheaper kettles only boiled water. Being able to set your desired temperature allows you to make a great cup of tea since boiling water can make some green and chrysanthemum teas bitter. Being able to set the temperature is the best feature you can have on an electric kettle. We’ve had it for around a year and is still going strong. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

This is a simple but elegant design, with technical details that are very appealing to me. Base allows the cord to be stored so it's an appropriate length, kettle can sit down any way within the circle of the base without fumbling around. I have had this kettle for a while now and I am very satisfied with my purchase. A few reviews were not as great and I was very hesitant to order. It seemed that some people had rust problems after a few month. I leave the lid open to ensure that the moisture can escape after boiling water and I never leave any water in it. The hot kettle dries that way pretty quick and it prevents the rust. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I just purchased the KEK1222 electric kettle. I haven't even tried it yet. Love the style and that it is mostly stainless steel. I'm still searching on line to find the answer many have asked re: whether the plastic filter frame and housing inside the pot is BPA free or not? Why can't someone from KitchenAid just be up front and directly answer the question? This a concern that numerous people have brought up in their reviews. If it's not BPA free is KitchenAid addressing this? Otherwise, it's a great little kettle. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

After burning my stove top kettle twice, I thought it was time to buy an auto-off electric kettle. As a single person, I was looking for something that: (a) met my high standard of expected service, and (b) would suit my esthetic/artistic senses. After weeks of searching - yes, I know it sounds silly to "search for weeks" for an electric kettle, BUT - I finally found the KitchenAid bright red, stainless, electric, auto-shut-off, 1.25 litre perfect-for-one-person kettle! First - it works great! Second - it looks great! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Absolutely love this kettle, sturdy, stainless steel inner/handle & enamelled outer (my last kettle peeled/flaked and was plastic inner as I didn't even think to check-yuk- big expensive mistake) Quick to boil, relatively quiet, and easy to fill with easy to remove lid and generous spout, pours well - just be careful if full as water can come out a little too fast- so happy I chose this range, as although a little pricey, it should last longer than the cheaper plastic ones, and personally cannot fault it.

My last expensive tea kettle was electrocuted by the great invasion of the sugar'water ants. The new one I bought is superior in craftsmanship and it would better be able to withstand another attack of the midget ants that are making life a Living Hell here in our beautiful city. It has a high stand in case water gets on the counter somehoaIt is bright and cheerful and easy to use...perfect in every way I can see after six weeks of service.... I bought this for my mom as a gift for Mother's Day. So far it's working great. It boils water very fast and looks cute on the kitchen counter (I got the red one). It's easy to operate with a simple push of the button. My mom likes it a lot. My only complaint is the electrical cord is too short. A few inches longer would be perfect. If you look for a simple electric kettle without all the unnecessary extra features, that's the one to go to. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

This unit was a warranty replacement because my pot was recalled. I love it the same as the first one. I love the "keep warm" button. I can start the pot and go take a shower and then steep my tea when I am done. I love that I can choose what temperature to bring the water to based on what kind of tea I am brewing. I am sad that they reduced the volume of the "all done" beep. I can barely hear it now unless I am right in the kitchen. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I have just bought this electric kettle (in brushed stainless steel) and I confess I chose it for the design. I love it. Works well too, so far. Since it's so cute... I was wondering whether I could use it for actually steeping loose tea, after the water boils, and serve too. Is this a no-no? Is this going to affect the kettle or make the cleaning difficult? I would appreciate any advice in this regard, thanks! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Bought this last year upon our relocation to the US. It still doing her amazing job boiling water for my cup of tea or coffee. I used it for countless times during the year and it did got some water marks on the inside part but easily came off by boiling chopped off lemon. I love it so much. But hey.. why won't I? It surely looks good on my kitchen. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I bought this over a month ago and am so happy! No more scrubbing the bottom and side of a stovetop teapot I put to boil on a burner that was too big for the pot. No more using the end of my sleeve to pick up a hot handle to pour a cup of tea. And hello to a teapot that boils water fast and looks as good as the day I took it out of the box. I have been very happy with my purchase. The quick boil and cordless function suits my needs. Having a built in screen to ensure that I never get anything in my water that I don't want is one of the best features and cleaning the screen is easy and readily accessible. I was so happy with my new kettle that I gave my old one away. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I love this tea kettle, the look fits well into my primitive colonial kitchen, it heats up fast, and it's a sturdy kennel. My only complaint about this appliance is that I wish it were larger. Since we use this every day for tea, cocoa, and our use it while canning, it would be nice if I didn't have to fill it so many times a day. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
