Bought as a novelty but practical prize for a charity bake off event, the winner has been really impressed with this mat.I've got to admit that for some reason I didn't think the pastry mat would be as big as it is, but obviously it has to be, so that you get a wide variety of dimensions to roll your pastry out to. It isn't very flexible so doesn't roll up well, so you need to be able to slot this down the side of a cupboard etc. for storage. Having said that, our winner was pleased with the size as the mat isn't necessarily being used just for measuring pastry - it's come in very handy for when his 2 young children bake - the mat covers a wide area and is very easy to wipe clean.Given it's portable nature, it can be put on a coffee table or other lower surface which makes baking with the children a lot easier. All in all, a very good quality, practical product.

I expected this pastry mat to arrive all rolled up like most silicone mats that I have seen before but this one arrived in a very large flat sheet approx A2 size but is so much better than I anticipated! It is made from hard plastic not soft silicone as I thought it would be (like most other pastry mats I've seen before) and therefore when you are using it stays perfectly flat to work on! With the arrival of winter I found myself making more warming things like pies and thatched soups and this has just made my life that bit easier and made it so much easier to clean up afterwards as before I had been forced to gently scrape down my solid oak worktops with a large knife to get all the pastry up whereas now all it takes is a quick wipe down of the mat!So glad I bought this mat!!!

I bought this mat to decorate a cake with icing. I have only made two cakes but I am still using this mat very often as it is very good for dough rolling and kneading. The dough does not stick to the mat, I do sprinkle a bit of flour on it. It also has vertical and horizontal rulers in inches and cm, very useful if you want to control the size of the dough when rolling it.The only problem is that you cannot fold it so it takes a lot of space and it is not easy to clean so that is why I don't give 5 stars to this product. I use dettol wipes to clean it after each use, I think it will be a total mess if I try to wash the mat in the kitchen sink.

I bought this product as i do a fair amount of pastry work and cake decorating and find it a reasonable product. its good points are the price, its a good sized mat that's big enough to tackle most jobs, easy to clean. afraid it does have a few small problems that stopped me giving it 5 stars but nothing terrible 1) it has a tendency to move when you are rolling out which i easily solved by putting a little blue tac down on the corners 2) it isnt as non stick as stated when doing pastry i found is still sticks a little but a very fine dusting of flour solves this definatly a lot less than i would use without the mat

This pastry mat is very useful indeed. I actually used it to roll out a very large piece of fondant icing for a birthday cake. As the icing was too large to lift off the mat without breaking, I just held the mat upsidedown over the cake and the icing peeled off beautifully, landing in exactly the right position without cracking or breaking. The only downside is that the mat is very large and doesn't roll up but I've solved that problem by covering it with polythene and suspending it by a skirt hanger in the corner of my wardrobe where it takes up hardly any room and keeps nice and flat. Good value for money.

We already have a (wickedly expensive) Lakeland roll-up pastry mat and needed a second one for a holiday home. Loathe to spend big money again for something that will be used infrequently, we opted for this item.... which works fine, does its job exactly as described but DOES NOT roll up and is NOT a Silicone material. Rather, it feels like High density polythene or Polypropylene, both non-stick materials but quite rigid making the mat rather fun to use as a wobble-board when embarrassing people with your Rolf Harris impersonations!Make sure that you have a suitable place to conveniently store it.

This pastry mat is ideal for rolling out both pastry and fondant icing. Its generous size ensures that the pastry/icing stays on the mat and not on your work surface. It's easy to clean and store away. I would highly recommend it. My only criticism regarding delivery of this product (which was timely) was Amazon's excessive use of packaging. The product measures 62cm x 46cm x 1mm, the box it was sent in measured 74cm x 55cm x 20cm and contain 16 metres (yes, that's right, several trees) of rolled up paper. This is an excessive and unnecessary amount of packaging for a non-breakable product.

I had to write this review as it has had so many bad reviews. I bought this mat 3 years ago as I had had a new kitchen and wanted to keep the work top pristine as it is a faux slate one and not completely smooth.I found it moved to begin with but if you wipe the worktop over with a damp dishcloth it seems to form a suction and the mat stays in place. As it can not be rolled up I keep it in the bag it came with and slip it in at the side of the frige but I thought the idea or putting on a clip hanger and hanging it in the wardrobe a good idea so I will try that

I usually roll out pastry on a kitchenwork top. Then hold the plate over it to see if it fits, not the most easy way to do it. I saw another mat with the circles starting at the bottom and getting bigger up the page. To me that was too difficult as you would have to move the pastry up the sheet every time you roll it. Surely concentric circles is best ?. So thats why I chose this one. Its quite big and not that easy to find a home for it. I leave in in its plastic cover and had it up beind a door. But its a lot easier than guessing the size required.

Why did I struggle for so long, with flour everywhere and so much cleaning up to do?? This mat is superb. It covers such an area that all "fall out" is on the mat, and it is the exact size of the area I use in the kitchen for rolling out pastry. Had read comments that storage had been difficult as the mat could not be rolled but it does come in a plastic container which has a useful "handle", so put it back in the plastic container and hang it on a hook on the inside of the pantry door. The mat is then neatly stored out of the way.

I really like this non-stick pastry mat from kitchen craft I enjoy making and baking cakes then decorating them this mat has many uses I can use it for my pastry in the centre it has all the measurements for the tins. The pastry mat is made from good quality plastic materials it is very solid very robust this is the second one I have bought the first I bought five years ago and I still have that one and it's stil as good as the new one.Overall this has impressed me greatly and I can easily recommend it.

Came well wrapped rolled up in a cardboard. Seems to be big enough for kneading/making fondant, rolling out fondant for cakes and as a work surface area liner for making flowers and characters etc with fondant. Hope to use this for making rotis/parathas etc too. The sizing print might come handy though not a must for me atm. The only down side is when storing this, it will have to either be put in a tube storer or be tied with a string to keep it rolled in place or a huge file folder like thing.

Bought to roll out fondant icing for 40th bday cake which was very large - the icing covered most of the mat. Was wondering how on earth i was going to get it onto the cake but discovered it slightly stuck to the mat enough to turn it over and hold over the cake, then peeled gently off into place, much to my relief. All in all I am so happy with it. It does slip on smooth worktops (as you would expect), but I just put a flat tea towel underneath it which worked well.

We had seen one of these style of pastry mats being used but when we went to buy one thought it was too expensive so left it in the shop. When I looked online for the same sort of product I came across this one from Kitchen Craft. It was exactly the same as the one we had seen originally but virtually half the price. It has been used constantly since we bought it. A really great product for home chefs. No problems with seller and would use them again. Buzz.

This mat is delivered rolled up, which means you will need some heavy items to weigh it down with the first couple of times you use it, otherwise it's perfect. I had been looking for a mat that was made in a thicker material than they usually are (as my table is uneven and I need a flat surface) as well as a large one, and this delivered on both points. The delivery was quick and the price super cheap as well so there's no complaints from me on this one!
