Equipped with the latest generation 3.0 x4 controller with 96 layer 3D TLC NAND it certainly outstrips my fitted SSD and this is reflected in the start-up time - so much quicker from cold to running.I have previously installed my OS to a competing brand SSD which gave me far superior start-up speed and noticeable retrieve speeds, I cloned that SSD to this Kingston and again, noticeably quicker start up, so well done Kingston.I have used Kingston memory modules for years preferring their warranty and quality. The warranty on these SSD's is somewhat complicated the heavier your use, the shorter the warranty, I haven't checked yet, but Kingston say there is a use (read-Write)indicator accessible from software obtainable on their site. It will in all probability, be reasonable but it seems they are covering their basic orifice against huge amounts of wear. So I guess using them for OS's is sensible but don't use it to retrieve vast amounts of data, this is obviously going to shorten its life expectancy - looks like if we have heavy data use then we are going to have to stick with the old HDD's for data storage for the foreseeable future, the alternative being regular changes of SSD?Still, the speed is exciting and I haven't yet had an SSD failiure. Thank goodness for NAS backup!!JC

Lightening fast drive. Luckily had an m2 slot on my computer motherboard which isn’t very old. I recommend you check your motherboard has an m2 slot before purchasing, different motherboard manufacturers have it in different places on the board. Also check the slot type, its about half an inch and if you notice this m2 drive has one notch on the right. That makes is a PCIe m2, some motherboards require m2 drives that have 2 notches, one on each side. These are Sata m2 drives.Once installed, I decided to install a fresh windows 10 operating system on the new m2 drive, put Steam etc on my ssd (which used have my OS) and I’m using a 1TB standard hard drive for my pictures, videos and files.I have to say my PC boots so quickly and runs very smoothly. Its noticeably much quicker than my ssd which I loved. Its really easy to install. Just be careful if you haven’t touched a motherboard before. This is really fast hard rive from a quality brand. Its amazing how cheap these are becoming so if you can stretch your budget go for a larger size drive if you can afford it. You can probably double your capacity for not much more money.

This is a blazingly fast SSD hard drive. It's so fast that, installed in a modern computer, we couldn't get enough data through the CPU to trouble it. That's fast. We've recently upgraded all the computers in our office with SSDs. Most of them are older models—we're a charity and get what we're given. It has given a new lease of life to all of them. This SSD has gone into one of our newest computers. It is dramatically faster than our other SSDs.If you want to understand the difference between a traditional hard drive and an SSD, it's the difference between a computer that takes five minutes to boot and one that takes thirty seconds to boot. Generally speaking. But this one is so fast that other factors come into play. We're very impressed with this drive.

SSD drives are getting smaller. This 250GB drive looks like RAM and slots onto your motherboard - if you have the connections. My son's PC is quite new, so we were lucky enough to be able to install this without too much hassle. We installed Windows 10 on this drive and the PC now boots up in under 45 seconds. The pace is really blistering and a bit of a revelation compared to the previous SSD drive we's installed Windows on. Nowadays 250GB may seem a little small, but it's perfect for just installing Windows on and using it as your main boot drive.Don't forget to configure in Disk Management.

Definitely like it. I didn't use the software you made available to migrate from a previous Samsung SATA 3 250 Gb SSD which came with the machine a few years ago. Mini Tool Partition Wizard worked rapidly and reliably and I had confidence in it - so I used that. I had another home for the Samsung drive in a slow laptop which I wanted to upgrade. That is to follow around Christmas. The M2 drive installed faultlessly and the mother board supported the M2 - so it was a no-brainer. I'm not a gamer so I haven't rated that feature. No doubt it would be fine. Otherwise it's splendid.

The SSD arrives in minimal packaging, which is good to see. Installation is trivial - as you’d expect - and once I’d got it set up as a secondary drive I ran some basic speed tests. No surprises then that it proved to be pretty much as fast as advertised. I used a ULANSEN adapter card which can take two cards and gave this a good workout. No issues and no complaints, and of course you’ve got the Kingston name guaranteeing a quality product at a reasonable price. I’ve always bought Kingston memory, I can see me preferring Kingston SSDs in future as well.

The new form of hard drive like a ram chip should start at 1tb at least these days but I guess its good for backing up stuff. Much much faster than a hard drive from 10 mins boot up time its taken a mere 30 seconds with this hard drive after cloning it with my old system though I have upgraded my Ram and CPU as well. Very easy to fit a child could do it just insert in the slot on the motherboard and screw in place that's it then go to disk management to configure it. As with all hard drives this needs doing before you can use it.

Purchased SSD to upgrade SSD in Dell Vostro Laptop, used for work purposes - no gaming. Looked for good stable option - Kingston seemed a well know brand and card was good price for performance.Came with free activation key for Acronis True Image which is a bonus. However I used my own software to image old SSD and put onto the new SSD using a USB enclosure. No issues doing this, plugged into laptop and worked without any compatibility issues.Very happy with purchase so far.

Easy to install. I didn't have the right native connectivity for this on my motherboard, so I purchased a PCIe adapter into a 16x PCI2.0 slot (usually for a secondary GFX card). I still achieved benchmark throughputs around 4x faster than the SATA SSD I had installed, which is a solid return for the config I've put in place.Size as advertised, stable, fast, easy to install, and a quality brand. Perfect.

Excellent, easy to install upgrade and pretty decent value for money. We put this in a self-build gaming machine that’s underlyingly a couple of years old – although we have made several tweaks to the architecture - about 6 months ago. No issues with the performance of the drive, and has made a clear improvement to the machine. Slot in design is as easy as it gets.

The easy way of fitting just plugs into motherboard no SATA or power leads to connect. Quick enough for my use however if you are going to use it for gaming check the spec against others there are faster ones out there. But I am happy.

I got this to try audibly lap top but it doesn't fit , I am so bad at technical things that I have no idea what to do. Not the products fault .I will just have to get a new laptop as my current one is so slow.

No problems with installation. Does what I need for a decent price.
