I got this Kingston after the failure of the KwikBird CF Card reader. That worked brilliantly for a few months and then one day it just refused to work any more. Since the card still worked perfectly in my Nikon D3X, I concluded the KwikBird must have bent contact pins. This new Kingston reader was recommended by others on my Purpleport photography forums. Others say it is better manufactured and less likely get bent pins. It appears to work extremely well so far and I am pleased. However, it will take more time to determine if it is truly robust & whether or not it suffers from the bent pins problem of the KwikBird reader.

Occasionally doesn't recognise my CF cards so I have to take out and re-insert but then it works. Otherwise a well built, fast reader that I am happy with after a few months. Previously bought one of the cheap ones which broke within days (bent pins). Glad to spend a bit extra for this quality. Also a decent length on the cable which was important for me.

It is quite smart and lights up when in use, so you know when you have left a card in the reader. It takes 4 different types of card including like SDHC/ SDXC/micro SDHC and micro SDXC. MS/ Duo, and CF. Very fast, easy to install and easy to use. Brilliant value for money.

Transfer time is important to us, so we decided to spend a little more rather than go for a cheaper card reader, and so glad we did, its super fast. Also though it's well made, so no loose USB connections and cards are firmly held in place.

One major advantage of this product is the useful length of usb3 cable that comes with it. This allows permanent connection to a machine that is not within easy access. Also, the red kingston logo lights up upon card recognition.

Had an earlier version (USB 2.0) one of these and it did the job until it stopped working so I rplaced it. This version (USB 3.0) is much quicker (obviously) and still does Compact Flash, which I need for my Canon 50D camera.

Had my previous USB 2 card reader for 15 years, new laptop had a USB 3 port and as my camera now takes pictures which are around 10MB each I needed something faster.Went for a good name and haven't been disappointed.

Definitely recommend. Transfers data quickly, portable and has a long cable. I purchased a different one that was around £3 and that broke, definitely worth buying a branded one and paying a little extra.

I've had this device for a few weeks. It works well with SD CF cards, at least, and importantly the cards fit extremely well. Transfer rate is good.

It allows the transfer of data from card to computer as it should. Better still, unlike my previous reader it dies not feel flimsy.

This is a great product of superior quality and performance, and a good reliable purchase unlike some of the cheaper ones

It covers everything I need from a reader quickly and efficiently, I certainly don't regret buying it and nor will you

Simple and easy to use - very speedy and reliable data transfer. Can read micro sdhc with or without an adapter.

Not the cheapest, but well made and works well. Have had cheaper ones but found them poor quality and unreliable.
