My IBM Think Center is old and slow. Going from 512 MB to 2 GB improved the performance quite noticeably. Things like searching for files probably doubled in speed, even video improved somewhat. My resource memory usage had been >100% and now it is a more reasonable 50%.I notice a lot of people commenting on how hard one has to press on them to install them. That is typical when you have 184 connections to make and each requires an ounce or two of pressure. Don't try to slide them in sideways if you have a tower type case, unplug the computer, lay it on its side, line it up with the socket, snuggle it in, and then press straight down. The little white (or black) plastic retainers should be open (at an angle)they automatically pivot as the card mates with the socket. They also help remove the old chips by prying them out without stressing the card or motherboard. Hopefully the motherboard is well supported and won't flex while all this is happening. The description didn't give the voltage of these chips, the ones I received are 2.5V ones (just what was called for)

My folks have an older Dell Dimension 8300 and it only had 512 kb RAM. It is now very slow when trying to surf the web and even though they only do some e-mail and a bit of surfing on big sites (like NY Times) it has become intolerable. I tried to order directly through the Dell store but these chips are on backorder - would take about 2.5 months. So I tried Amazon and through a 3rd party. They arrived intact, on time and as advertised. They come in little antistatic cases. Putting them in is a bit of a hassle - but that was all due to the design of the motherboard. Two of the DIMM slots are traditional uprights. But two are on a slant which makes it awkward to seat the DIMMS.You have to use a bit of force but are always worried that it might snap or break off something. Finally they got in and now the machine is very fast - best and simplest upgrade. If possible max out the memory.

My 9+ year old PC with an ABIT AI7 motherboard occasionally hiccuped when playing music. I discovered that it only had 1 Gb total memory, so ordered 4 of these Kingston "KT8300/1G" 184-pin 1 Gb DIMMs for compatibility with my motherboard and 32-bit operating system (Win XP Pro w/ SP3). Now that old dog can hunt. It doesn't hiccup any more and overall performance is more robust. It makes a fine music server and backup or supplemental PC. The memory slot hardware for these sticks works more stiffly than newer ones in general, but the key is to work the lever/clips on the ends a bit to assist removal and installation. Make sure you are grounded to the PC chassis before doing any work inside the computer, and refer to your operating manual or other tech support for specific requirements.

I deliberated between buying a new completely upgraded Pc on sale at NewEgg for $400 or so dollars or seeing if maybe all my current 7 year old, Dell Dimension 3000 needed was some maxed out memory. I was very pleasantly surprised and releived to see the latter was perfect! I popped these two 1gb chips in after popping out the 256 my pc came with and the addt'l 256 I bought somewhere along the way and after 30 mins tops of unhooking everything from my pc, trudging it down to badement, vacuuming out the 5 or so years off dust in the computer case and swapping the memory, my PC immediately recognized the new chips and was immediately running like 400 times faster. The best thing I ever did.

Easiest and least expensive upgrade ever! I was dreading purchasing a new computer, but then realized I hadn't maxed out the memory on my older desktop (guess I couldn't bring myself to throw out perfectly good chips to replace and take it to the max - but that's another story...lol) - I found the Kingston 1GB chips - EXCELLENT price - figured I'd give them a shot and am I pleased! Now I have a NEW computer which will run the software I need to run - and faster! If it wasn't maxed at 4GB I would buy more - thanks Amazon!

THIS memory stick is the CORRECT RAM for a Dell B110 desktop PC. Many websites (including the Kingston website) give the wrong stock number, and if you order those, the RAM that you receive is not going to work. Also, many websites state that the B110 can only support 1GB of RAM. Not so. My B110 had no problem recognizing and using the two 1GB memory sticks that I installed. The extra RAM that I installed has made a significant improvement in the performance of my PC.

Delivered quickly, RAM cards look and work like new. I upgraded my old HP a824n to 3.11 GB with three PC3200 DIMM cards and one 256 MB card. XP (32 bit) won't address a full four GB, the most it will use is 3.11 so why waist a 1GB card, I just installed three 1 GB cards and a 256 MB card. (if you have 4 slots) and got 3.11 GB . Very satisfied. Harold S.

Had an old computer that seemed sluggish when browsing. Discovered that there was only 256 Mb of memory. Now can stream videos with ease. I went with Kingston to avoid any specification drift. I was able to increase the bus speed, because of the improved memory spec and now have a viable guest computer when one is needed.

This module was very easy to fit into my Dell 8300. I'm no techie but this was a doddle. If you are thinking of getting more memory for your Dell do it .It's also considerably cheaper than buying it from Dell !Why not 5 stars ? Well, nothing in life is perfect especially computers.

Package arrived quickly during the heaviest mail time of the year. Anti-static packaging and heavy Styrofoam wrap kept the item safe during transit. I have been using the product quite intensively for some time now with no problems. Instant speed boost for an older system.

Product arrived promptly and undamaged. I installed the memory stick as described on the instructions and the memory chip worked perfectly. I bought another chip from the same merchant and installed it without any problems. I recommend this product and this merchant.

I ordered the RAM thinking in would fit in my computer. Two of them did fine, but the computer is too old to handle all of it. I will find a use for the other sticks. All in all, I am happy with the order, although it did arrive a little late.

I was in need of this memory for years... I finally decided I could no longer live without it... Now I am kicking myself for not having purchased this a long time ago. This is fantastic memory! I look forward to buying from this seller again.

My computer only had 1 GB of RAM on it, so I bought 4 of these, and now applications and programs load up much quicker. This is for my old HP Compaq, so it does the job well. I suggest buying this if you want to speed up an old stock PC.

I must say this purchase was handeled very professionaly. I ordered a total of 4 gig sticks in 2 different orders. The last set had a bad stick. I contacted the company and the service and exchange was painless.
