Similar in execution to the Heroes of Might and Magic series, Armored Princess is a stand-alone expansion/sequel to King's Bounty: The Legend. Don't let that put you off if you haven't tried the first game - I haven't, I've dived straight in with Princess Amelie, and haven't looked back! I tried the Steam demo originally, and was immediately struck by how wonderfully realised the game is. The graphics are beautiful, detailed and very colourful; the interface is simple but elegant and the whole package oozes quality. All of that is useless if there's not an engrossing and most of all "fun" game in there as well, and I'm happy to say, Armored Princess is enormous fun; from exploring the giant world map,to the deep, tactical combat; from your horse/pegasus to the utterly cute, but devastating dragon pet.Combat is turn-based, and played out a little like hex-based battle chess, with armies of fantastical creatures at your command as well as a slew of special/magical abilities. There are literally dozens of hours of gameplay, and the whole package is simply one of the best PC releases in recent years. Give it a whirl even if you don't normally play this sort of thing - I think you'll be pleasantly surprised, and and end up with a big grin on your face as you lead Princess Amelie through her adventure.

This game is a lot of fun, whether you have played the first game or not. It is essentially the same engine and basics, so you can play them in either order. The graphics are good but this is not cutting edge stuff, but then again it doesn't claim to be. What it IS is FUN! Once again I constantly found myself getting caught up in the game and "just a little bit more"!!! Luckily I finished the game before we had our kid. It really is that addictive. The new pet dragon is a good addition in this one, but not a game changer. The best new feature is the heavy travelling (which is instantaneous) but gives you a change of scenery when you start getting bored.Good stuff. And for 10 pounds, a steal.

The premise is quite simple really - buy your troops, move to an enemy, and then fight them. Once you have defeated them, go buy some more troops, and move onto the next enemy unit. Repeat. That is basically the game, but what a fun game it is. I have played the game 5 times from start to finish so far, and I am still in love with it.My only gripe is that the army units available for purchase are randomised in type and quantity, as is all the equipment you buy, so when you are looking for set bonuses, and troops that you can apply those set bonuses to, you may well be thwarted by the rng. Otherwise this is solid but fun learn hex and turn-based wargaming.Give me this over RTS games any time.

Ordered this game from the UK about a year before you could get it in the US. With customs and shipping charges I still paid less for the game than I would have paid for it in the US. I am not a fan of downloaded games. I like to have a disk so when the computer crashes I can reload it. The game played with no problems or patches needed. Had two friends that downloaded the game, and they had to find a patch to play it.

Excellent sequel to King's Bounty The Legend. Maintains all the good features and adds a few new ones. No bugs or crashes to speak of. Keeps you interested throughout with a good storyline. Really liked the new "medals" feature. Being rewarded for completing battles without losses makes battle strategy even more important.Highly recommended!

I love this game. I agree with the other reviewers. Highly recommended to those who love turn based RPG. This is a nice change from Fallout 3 and the other fantastic RPGs in the market. Highly recommended.

Excellent and entertaining game. It has a similar vibe to Heroes of Might and Magic, but with a twist. The pet dragon is my favourite part.
