This is my 1st Kindle after contemplating for so long whether to buy an e-reader or stay with paper-back.But my limited space calling it and i need to buy an e-reader. Thankfully its same time Kindle launched its newest level-entry type.Love the size, very handy and light.Love the simplicity of it, only paper white - not colors.Love the battery usage, i only charge one time per week and i read only during commuting time (max 4hrs a day).Definetly a pleasant 1st experience with Kindle

I love this item. Been looking at it for quite a while and finally decided to bite the bullet and make a cheeky purchase. Really happy with how it works, nice and simple and links really easily to my Amazon account to buy and download books.Can adjust everything on the Kindle to make it really comfy to read from. It's especially great as have a book that's writing is just too small, so purchased on Kindle and makes reading so much easier. Don't have to worry about running out of books either!

I love the feel of a real book in my hands so was unsure initially about buying this. I'm glad I did!It has a nice light feel to it but not too much so it feels cheap. It's well made, sleek, and you can see the quality. Enables you to carry thousands of books without the weight! Perfect for holiday reading.It fits nicely in hand, screen size is perfect and you can edit the text size to suit you. Also, no screen glare! The battery lasts me around 2-3 weeks and I read it nearly every day.

After many reviews and comparing with the other types of kindles I decided on this one and not other due to I already have a smart phone do didn't need something for browsing Internet only reading. On comparing with the paperwhite there wasn't much in comparison to warrant the £50 price difference. You can control the brightness so i can use it in bed with no lights on, adjust the size of the text and its great to read. As I'm already a prime member theres loads of books i can borrow for free.

Just purchased having had a Kobo reader for many years. Love how easy it is to download books from Amazon and other sources. Bright adjustable screen, no nightlight needed. Love the white bezel, easier on the eyes than black. May be doing something wrong like pressing too hard, but often turns several pages and loses my place, very frustrating... still exploring - may be a fix for this but was easier on my Kobo which had a slide bar at the bottom and could skip by chapter. Love the Amazon case.

Used original kindle for a long time my old eyes are not what they should be(Ahh, bless, I hear you say!) I like to read in bed this allows me to do this with ease. The adjustable light gives a clear precise reading experience. Settings include choice of fonts, type size etc. I would prefer the old style side buttons for page turning, this is touch, but it's growing on me. It's VERY light to hold. Despite what others say battery life is good, and all in all, it's great. and highly recommended.

Great product in every way . Slim , light simple very compact . Like every other purchase I make I specifically test each function of the product . I am r 65 and have health issues . I buy almost everything from Argos . As far as Argos is concerned I think they are great. I have never had a problem. Argos sell only quality products, which all have to undergo a rigorous quality control procedure when I buy something from Argos , I buy with confidence. I know what I buy will be ok. . Mr e. Kirk

The Kindle paperwhite isn't fancy. It isn't going to show films or photos in glorious colour or provide expansive sound for your favourite songs.It isn't meant to!What it does do, it does superbly. All the books you need into a device which can fit in a large pocket or handbag. Slip it in the glove box for while the better half goes clothes shopping or while the old chaps watching the big match. Better still read it in bed before sleep. No blue screen to stimulate the brain. Brilliant!

BEWARE !! Amazon took £10 out my account for stopping ads that pop up on screeI amazon said it says it comes with added benefits which is ads . And theres a charge to remove them and wouldn't refund my money . I went back into argos site read every word on the description and no mention of added benefits. Phoned amazon again told them theres no mention of added benefits on the argos site I had read every word in description and after arguing my point she agreed to refund the £10

Upgraded my kindle as original kindle needed replacing. I also have a kindle fire but I find the fire too heavy.This kindle is small and light. The adjustible light on screen is an added bonus.Battery is amazing has lasted me around two weeks now and i havent had to charge it. Due to lockdown I am reading alot. I do turn it to aeroplane mode and turn light off when not using.Looks lovely in white too perfect little light kindle easy to use transferred over all my other books with ease.

Does what it says on the tin. Folks who have reviewed dissatisfaction over how long it lasts between charges need to turn off WiFi when not downloading, otherwise it drains battery. Illuminated screen is a boon but also remember to switch it off when ambient light is enough to read by, otherwise that will drain the battery unnecessarily too.By doing the above I got over two weeks of read time. If I hadn’t occasionally used the backlight I would have got even longer.I’d recommend this ebook.

The kindle provides a simple method of reading for those who don’t like clutter; lugging books around, as well as storing them, can be problematic or not even an option.On the whole, it works as it should. The e-ink technology is great, and differentiates the device from the likes of an iPhone or computer monitor. Reading from this with a dim backlight will not hinder your sleep, unlike other technology. The touchscreen isn’t as stable as buttons, and the device can be slow to boot.

As libraries are shut and limited books available in supermarkets I thought I would treat myself to a kindle. Was a bit sceptical as I really do love to hold a proper book and turn the pages but this is just like the real thing especially as the pages look like the real thing. It's the perfect size to hold in one hand and fits into a handbag should you need to do so. Has made my lock down experience far more enjoyable and have read lots of books which with the back light has helped.

I had been thinking of getting a kindle for some time, instead of using the kindle app on my phone. I saw that these were on offer so I decided to go ahead and order one! The design is sleek and just the right size, system performance is excellent, books can be downloaded in seconds and amazon have some great offers too. Battery life is top notch, keep it on airplane mode to turn wi-fi off and only use the backlight if needed in the dark and it will last weeks before needing a charge!

I bought this as a replacement for my old basic kindle. it added itself to my Amazon/kindle account immediately which made downloading all my books easy! I could have done with some instructions for the kindle itself, I am still touching stuff and have no idea what I have done, the swipe feature is quite sensitive but this is a good thing in my opinion, I need to get used to it after years of using the old style unit. The light is a nice addition, makes reading anywhere a breeze.
