Though the cube is time-consuming to fill, and is difficult - if not impossible - to clean properly, it keeps all of my dogs occupied for meals a lot longer than they would be without it! I love that I can fit large and small pieces of kibble and they'll all come out (eventually) without any clogs. I've been able to get 5 of my 6 dogs interested in this food puzzle to varying degrees of attention, with the most zealous ones making a game of batting it around the house with their paws, flipping it with their noses, and even rolling around on the floor with it until every last bit of food is expelled. It is fairly loud banging around on a hard floor, but it's not too obnoxious. If I do have a day where I don't want to listen to it, I either lay a few of the myriad of dog-reserved towels/blankets/rugs down on the floor, or I feed them from one of the quieter food puzzles I have. It's only for about 20-30 minutes, though, and it helps to tire them out, so it's not a huge sacrifice. I've seen in other reviews that some dogs have been able to pull out the center piece, but I make sure mine is always locked and I keep an eye on my pups when they're using any food puzzle so that they don't destroy them. These are not toys, they're not unbreakable with enough effort, and they should be put away when not being used for treats or meals. Overall, I'm very happy with this newest addition to our food puzzle assortment and will keep it in heavy rotation as long as I can!

I have a very energetic terrier/retriever mutt (50lbs) and bought this as a toy to provide more stimulation at meal time. It's very sturdy, hard plastic, which I need because my dog destroys most toys. This things has taken a real beating and is still in great shape. It's pretty scratched up on the outside, but its integrity is intact. The type of plastic makes it impossible for my dog to lift and drop it, which I consider a huge plus. The inner piece is removable for cleaning, which is nice but I haven't done, I only put dry food in it and would not recommend anything else goes in it.The biggest downside of this item is sound. It's a pretty loud toy, as it's plastic rolling around on hard floors with lots of kibble inside.Definitely not something to give a dog when you want a quiet conversation or relaxation. I have downstairs neighbours and wonder how much of a racket it makes, but so far they haven't complained. As a result of the noise, I never use it at breakfast. I imagine this item would be better if used on carpet, because it would probably be a lot quieter. The good parts definitely outweigh the downsides, I would recommend this item!

When I first saw the image of this buster cube I thought it looked like an improvement. They have added little flanges to the core to make it easier to remove the core for cleaning...at least that's what I assumed they are for. I've used these cubes for my dogs for years and the previous version didn't have these. They were almost impossible to get the cores out for cleaning so basically, I didn't bother. The new cube with it's flanges is no better although you do now at least have little markers on it to show you how far and in which direction to turn it but getting it to the point at which it clicks into the open position is beyond me. worse, the flanges go all the way to the bottom of the core creating an obstruction which makes it twice as hard to fill as the kibble gets stuck. I still have an old buster cube which I much prefer but as I have two dogs I need both.Apart from my gripes, they are still a brilliant way to feed your pets.

I was looking for a more difficult treats/food toy for my lurcher who manages to crack even the 'difficult' toys from the local pet shop within seconds, and I'd heard good things about the buster cube. I didn't expect it to be quite so difficult though. With the inner piece in, it's REALLY hard to get anything out and my boy got a bit frustrated and confused when nothing came out after he'd rolled it around a few times. I ended up taking out the inner piece and encouraging him when he used his paw, and now, about a week later, he really likes it and bashes it about all over the place. I don't know whether I'll end up putting the inner piece back in as it really does make it difficult unless you have lots of very small treats, but it's good to have the option. It's also pretty noisy when it bangs around and he's always getting it stuck behind the sofa and needing us to get it out for him!

I've had my eye on this for ages and finally bought one from another website. The instructions that came with it were somewhat confusing as they mention a 'min' and a 'max' but I can't see any min or max indicators on the cube. Nevertheless I figured out how to remove and replace the inner tube.Filling the cube is fiddly and very noisy. The instructions say to put food in the tube and shake, I found this to be extremely noisy and somewhat ineffective. Once I figured out that the food needed to go through the hole in the top of the tube things were much quicker and a little bit quieter. All of this was worth it though when I have it to my dog. She absolutely loves it,it's not hugely difficult for her but it's a fun addition to the growing pile of enrichment feeders.

It is a great feeding toy and was especially awesome for making our 12 year old boy use his brain quite a bit before he figured it out. Unfortunately only one our dogs is able to use it inside. She kicks it like crazy, makes it fly through the whole room and gets some pieces of kibble out like that. For the less overexcited dogs that try it with system and mainly using their nose, it is too slippery on every indoor floor (even on the carpet). They just push it through the room but it won't roll over so no treats come out ever. That was very frustrating for the dogs. We now use it in the garden only and it is awesome there. Great outdoor toy but I wouldn't recommend it if you don't have a garden. There are much better indoor food toys.

At the recommendation of our trainer, I feed my seven month old Golden Retriever his mid-day meal from this toy as a mental and physical way to burn off some excess energy now that is is too hot to play outside in the afternoon. I place pillows under our two arm chairs so it doesn't get trapped underneath and let him tumble the cube around the great room. It takes him about 5 minutes to completely empty as opposed to less than one minute to gulp his food from his bowl. He gets very excited and barks as he chases it around gobbling the food as it falls out. It can get a bit noisy but it is very worth a few minutes of kibble rattling and happy barking for my dog to have fun and get some neededstimulation.

Bought for a large male labrador and it is absolutely brilliant!! He plays with it every time I fill it up- never seems to get board and cannot cheat to get the treats out!! Previous ones that twisted open were a waste of money as he figured that out in minutes and just poured them out. This one must be rolled around, it is great exercise and stimulation for him. It is indestructible and worth the money!! Fill the chamber up for less enthusiastic dogs to allow lots of treats to fall out for first use and they will love it from then on!! Great product, only wish was that faster delivery was available, would highly recommend!!

My dog loves this product! It keeps him amused while we do other things round the house- he is only 8 months and still likes to play a lot. He gets half his meal in it (dry food)and the rest in his bowl. I would suggest if using the cube in this way you take out the centre to make filling easier.( The instructions say you only do this for cleaning.) You then need to shake the food around to stop it all coming out in a lump immeadiately but other than that it seems to work really well. Occasionally it gets stuck under bits of furniture and we have to rescue it-your dog will let you know if there is a problem.

Pig likes this one better than the spherical ones (perhaps because it is easier and he gets more pellets faster). It does sound like a plastic cube rolling around, but I expected that. I use it outside most of the time. I like that I can find it easily in the yard because of the purple color since it does get pushed all over the place. I haven't tested max capacity, but I can easily fit 1/4 cup of pellets in there. These pellets are a little bigger than grains of rice (think small animal like rabbit food pellet size). Hence easy put into the mini cube and easily come out.

While "shelter-in-place," we were looking at things for our furkids to do. I came across an article in which a national nonprofit recommended this product for keeping our pets busy. Suffice it to say, all three of our dogs LOVED this toy. So much so, we ended up having to pick it up and keep it out of sight at times because they loved getting the treats out of it. They were all vying for time to play with it. That, to me, speaks volumes on this particular toy.PROS: Durability, easy to use, GREAT for keeping our dogs' attention!CONS: none noted

I have two dogs and neither of them have been able to figure out this puzzle yet. I have bought quite a few dog puzzles and this one is probably the most difficult one. Despite the fact that it is a difficult puzzle, my dogs still seem to enjoy it and want to play with it.If you are looking for an easier dog puzzle I would recommend a kong or something like the Bob-A-Lot Interactive Dog Toy which is also sold on Amazon. I would say my dogs enjoy using these toys more than the Food Cube because they are able to get a lot more treats out.

The cube is quite loud when my 6 months old puppy (weight 25 kg) plays with it, hard plastic, no scratches, solid built. Takes some time and help from somebody to let dog understand that food can be get out when playing with it. We have hard wooden floors, so, at the beginning cube was just sliding around with no turning, however, after short presentation our dog understood that it can be turned and that this results in the food falling out of it. Probably, it works better on soft floors, if the dog is lazy and not willing to play a lot.

My dog caught on relatively quickly as to how this works. I like the fact that she doesn't get a treat every time she knocks it around the room - there is a maze (in a way) in the inner mechanism, so it doesn't always release a treat. Like some others have mentioned previously, it is sort of loud, with the treats banging around inside, and especially if you are not using it on a surface other than carpet. Highly recommend as a stimulation toy for all dogs, though I don't allow my dog to use it on any floor besides carpet as it is loud.

So, I have a corgi that is alone while I am at work. He destroys pretty much any toy you give him fairly quickly if it is one that has food in it, even the extreme kong toys (last one I bought lasted about a week). This thing is AMAZING.It is made of hard plastic, with no real places he can grip it with his teeth, and it stands up to everything he has thrown at it.It holds a good 5+ large handfulls of dogfood, and comes appart and goes bacj together super easily. Just twist the green part. And my dog loves it.
