BackgroundBackground:I already own two water pressure washers. One is a Karcher K4 which I keep on my sailing cruiser. I like it a lot. It is very practical and works very well for keeping the exterior of the boat clean. The other is a large and powerful Bosch. This also works well but is very large, a bit awkward and so powerful that it is easy to overdo things. I keep this at home for cleaning pathways etc.Initial impressions of the Karcher K5 Premium Full Control Plus:I think it is an exceptionally good and flexible pressure washer. For me the standout benefits are the well graduated ability to select water format and pressure for the particular task and the T 350 T-Racer Surface Cleanerattachment which surprised me with its ability to clean up paving stones without the normal splashing around of water and dirt. The power range of the K5 Premium Full Control Plus is well suited to almost all jobs about the home and comes in a reasonably sized machine.I do have some critical comments, mainly associated with getting the machine into its operational condition, as covered in the more detailed notes below.Setting up the K5 Premium Full Control Plus:Having removed the machine, sundry parts and paperwork from the delivery packaging, I found it tedious and frustrating to find that I had to complete the assembly process working from very poorly presented documentation.It was all a straightforward enough screwdriver job, but not what I would expect when buying a relatively expensive quality item. In my view the product should be ready to go, “plug and play”, straight out of the box. It is not clear to me what Karcher gains out of the approach taken. Maybe a small saving in packaging cost. Against that a poor initial impression and, I imagine, an unpleasant surprise for those many customers who are not mechanically handy.The issue is compounded by the poor quality of the instructions: small print size on cheap paper that is difficult to read and requires flipping back and forward between pages to relate the text to the diagrams. I don’t think the same level of care and attention has been given to the instructions as to the engineering of the product, which is a shame.Electrical and water connections:The high pressure hose storage and deployment system works well. Fitting the various attachments to the hose is ok, but could be improved so that it felt like a more refined click and lock experience.It would be helpful if the electrical cable was a lot longer. It is, of course, straightforward to use extension cables, but those in most households are not suited to a wet environment. My suggestion is to make the cable half as long again.A reel storage of some sort for the electrical cable would be helpful. I decided the practical thing was to wind the cable on top of the already wound high pressure hose.I think I understand why Karcher have resorted to separate batteries for the hand held pressure selection unit, but from my point of view this is just another fiddly arrangement likely to cause problems over time. A straightforward robust rotating mechanical switch on the main body of the machine with power as required from the mains supply would be preferable in my view. In use:I have put the K5 Premium Full Control Plus to the following uses: cleaning my car, cleaning garage walls of algae etc, cleaning windows, cleaning my granite front door step and concrete garden steps, and cleaning up garden paving stones.In short, the K5 Premium Full Control Plus did a great job on all these applications. It is easy to set up and the ability to select precise water pressures and formats makes it straightforward to do things with confidence and to move from one job to another. It was a pleasure to use and an encouragement to get on with jobs that are well overdue. A general problem with all pressure washers in my experience is the risk of getting very wet and extremely dirty from splashing water and removed dirt. I did not have this problem, however, when cleaning the car nor when using the T 350 T-Racer Surface Cleaner (who thinks up these names!) to clean garden paving stones. This is a great attachment.

just purchased this machine, even though I have the K2 compact model which use for cleaning my cars , but this monster is in a different league ,easy to put together, easy to set up, once it was up and running I cleaned my patio again after cleaning it with the smaller model a few weeks ago I used the stone cleaner solution in the machine with the rotating head at first this did a good job of distributing the mixture, then I changed to the adjustable wand to deep clean it.My Patio has a lot of annoying black and yellow algae on it which wasn't touched but my other cleaner but this one blasted it without any trouble, it uses far less water than any other one I have used,I'm usually drowned by the time I'm finished but not with this model the wand gives out more of a fine mist than a jet of water ,which leaves less to brush away. Being able to reduce the setting as you go is great no more fiddling with different heads or changing to the hose pipe to rinse off ,the rotating head doesn't look much when you examine it but when in use it is very effective and soon has the concrete cleaned, when on full power you have to apply a bit of down ward force as the head is very powerful and easily lifts the head up off the ground. This model is expensive but you get what you pay for and I'm more than impressed by it

Purchased this a few days ago to replace a previous one. First impressions, heavy, rather expensive but what isn't! Build quality good plus numerous features that old one did not have! Fitting of various components, handle etc quite straight forward using diagramatic instrucions. HOWEVER, when it came to fitting the wheels I was stuck as there did not appear to be any instructions!!! However my engineering background stood me in good stead and managed without damaging anything..On completion when disposing of packaging I found a single separate piece of paper with instructions thereon! Why was it not included/incorporated with the rest?A dry day, so commenced to clean the large area of block paving around the property.It did the job amazingly well due to the extra pressure and facilities of this particular model. Did not even have to use the cleaning. fluid.I particularly like the option of drawing water from a water butt (which I have) as I am on a water meter and a bit of a meanie!All in all a nice bit of kit. Five year manufacturers guarantee a definate bonus.

I bought the K5 Premium to replace a 20 or so year old K620M which had sadly stopped working. Whilst expensive I found with the K620M thay paying a higher price really is worth it, especially on things such as a patio. My father in-law bought a cheaper model, and at times ended up borrowing my K620M for the extra power.The K5 is a significant improvement, and is a lot quicker to setup and pack away, and also significantly quieter, the retractable hose is much better and stops it getting tangled. The bottles of detergent are again a good improvement, although it does go through them quickly and they aren't cheap.The only thing I'm not too keen on is the power lead storage - which in comparison to everything else is poor,being just some elasticated netting to hold the cord behind.So far I've only used it a few times - but it cleaned our stone patio really well, and gave good results when using it to wash the cars.

The product generally works well, however the manual could have been designed better-its not helpful to have instructions and the relevant illustrations two pages apart. And though the lance has diagrams showing the jets etc it is by no means clear what the diagrams are supposed to be aligned with-certainly in the case of my machine it isn't the top which one would think was logical!Also, when coupling the gun to the high pressure hose it says ensure the nipple is correctly aligned-as the coupling is buried deep within the socket thats far from easy; in my case the hose kept falling out. And when I finally managed it, I found I couldn't detach it; this took two days. The yellow button was incredibly stiff.Altogether, the build quality is quite poor in many respects.

This pressure washer is easy to use, especially liked the lcd display on the lance. It does a really good job of cleaning stains and moss on walls and paths - even though haven't used the detergent yet! The unit is well built and sturdy. The control on the lance gives good degrees of different pressures if you need them. A big plus is the batteries on the lance are 'normal' AAA and not expensive button cell type!!. Overall, a very good machine, very pleased. This pressure washer was sent free of charge from Karcher to test and give my honest opinion, which I have done.

Hi all I bought the k5 premium plus a few weeks ago , I've only used it twice but I'm really happy with it,, when i use it for the first time It took a bit of getting use to,, there's a slight pause when you pull the trigger to the water coming out, great pressure for washing van/car,, I had a few budget washers over the years but the k5 is a lot more powerful,, hope I get many years of use,, karcher is a good brand name, so I hope the washer stands the test of time,,, 10 outof 10 from me,, make sure you read instructions about sinking control handle to washer

The K2 is a good entry model, but the K5 is so much more powerful. It's a reassuringly heavy unit which means it stays in place when you pull the high pressure hose out from the drum, which is less stiff than the hose on the K2, so is more manageable.I was slightly apprehensiveness about ordering a sealed damaged box, however, upon delivery the box was in excellent condition, as was the product. This is a great opportunity to get a good quality, powerful pressure washer at a low price together with a long warranty.

I cannot recommend this product enough!! It was very easy to assemble, the instructions were very clear and it was done in no time at all. Once I got the hang of using it I put it to good use on our family car. I couldn't believe how well it cleaned the car, being a regular user at the car wash I was very impressed with how much of a deep clean the pressure washer could do! I don't think I'll ever need to return to a car wash again! It's perfect for cleaning outside as well as inside! 5 Stars!

My old pressure washer blew up so I called karcher and described my situation and they said the K5 home was the machine for me. They couldn't provide one for 5 weeks but I found one at Argos, how lucky was that. My lockdown has been spent restoring my significant area of York stone and brick pavers to their original lustre and couldn't be happier that this machine is man enough, and more for the job. Well done karcher for your initial recommendation and Argos for being able to supply.

I have had a srting of cheap jet washes ,mainly bought for the claimed power and low price ,all diedThis jet wash is very good works well powerful and adjustable but its not quite plug and go it needs setting up first I would give it 10 out of ten if not for the awufl instructions pages after pages multiple languages you cant use the ajutable controls untill you pair the handle with the jet wash it was not very clear in the instructions for the money i would have expected better

I ordered the item online and it arrived in 3 days.I found the enclosed instructions basic and confusing,but there were many You Tube videos to assist.The product itself is fantastic...easy to use and does a great job.I paid several hundred pounds to have the block paved drive and patio areas cleaned 3 years ago.My work today has done as good a job.I am very impressed with the product.I have not used the patio cleaner yet.Many thanks Karcher...a great product.

Although only used once or twice it is already clear that this is a well engineered product. Everything fits together beautifully and it is simple to prepare for use and pack away afterwards due in particular to the excellent hose storage wheel and storage for the gun and multi jet. This was bought at a very good offer price to replace an old cheaper model and the quality is clear to see. Haven't tried using the supplied detergent yet but overall very pleased with the purchase.

Bought this after my last karcher pressure washer finally gave up after 12 years. Looked into to which pressure washer to buy but results came back to Karcher. Much better than my last one....Love the handy netting to put electrical cable in and that the hose is on a wheel keeping everything stored nicely on the machine. Smaller in size than my old k4 so a lot easier to stow away. Excellent pressure which is controlled much easier on the trigger for the 3-in-1 multi jet.

Have only had this device a few weeks and used it for the first time last week. Impressive features and powerful. The best thing so far, however, is the T-Racer patio cleaner - a very simple but incredibly effective cleaner which speeds up the task enormously. The only negative is the plastic construction which feels a bit flimsy. Time will tell. The electronic pressure control is very useful and not the gimmick that some have suggested.
