I purchased the cheaper dumb version of this simply to allow me to continue using my existing lenses on my new Canon M50. I've not yet tested it with all the lenses, but it works flawlessly with a Canon 100mm f2.8 Macro, and 70-300mm IS.One thing worth noting is that the camera has - God only knows why! - a Continuous AF mode which appears to be enabled by default. I was tearing my hair out and blaming the adapter for this initially, as it meant that my lenses were constantly hunting for focus lock even with my finger nowhere near the shutter button. I'd take a shot, point the camera at my feet to look at the image on the screen, and it would be constantly whirring away, especially with the zoom, trying to find focus on my feet! Now that I've found this out and turned it off in the camera menu, the adapter is almost completely invisible from an operational perspective. The AF is quick and flawless, and I can use my older lenses exactly as intended. The only one reservation I have is with the IS on my 70-300, which makes a constant noise when activated which I don't recall it doing on my old 7D, but if that's the only downside compared to the Canon adapter at 4x the price (which for all I know might also make the noise), then I can't see a reason not to buy the Viltrox adapter. Their customer support was quick to help me over the continuous AF issue, so I'll email them again to ask about this and update the review if necessary.

Arrived on time and well packaged in its own box. User manual brief and some points could be made clearer, perhaps lost in translation. Attached an EF 70-300mm lens without problem to the adapter which clicked firmly into place on my EOS M6. Took some test photos and was quite impressed once I got used to lack of IS on lens. Am looking forward to using this kit once sunny weather arrives! No operational problems encountered so far but was puzzled by the lens continually hunting autofocus even when camera at rest. Solved this minor issue by turning off continuous autofocus in the camera's settings.

As an item that I'm not likely to use a great deal, I thought it worth trying one at a fraction of the manufacturer's own price. It seems to be well made and finished and comes in a lovely presentation box. It seems to perform all the functions as far as I can tell on my M3. Focus has a slight delay as I'd already read in other write ups, but then that would also seem to be the case with the Canon own version?

Great little gadget allowing me to use my existing EF lenses on my Canon M5 without having to spend ridiculous amounts on new lenses.Auto focus works as expected which is a nice surprise when you factor in the savings compared to Canons own adapter. It is a little slower than normal but when you consider the price difference I'll take that over extra money for other gear.

I was really pleasantly surprised when this arrived. Really well made. Much better than I was expecting and I don’t know why anyone would buy the canon version now having seen (and got) this one. Really solid with metal mounts. Functions brilliantly too and felt super fast on my m50 using the 50mm 1.8 STM after coming across from a DSLR.

High quality adapter used to mount EOS-EF lenses on an EOS-M camera body. Build quality and functionality of this product is excellent and at a fraction of the price for the canon branded adapter. An added bonus was the very nice packaging and presentation of the adaptor, definitely would buy again.

Was thinking I'd just get the canon and have the safe option. But in the end I chose this and wow!! Why would I ever think of buying the canon after receiving this! It's perfect and is probably identical to the canons version but about £70 cheaper!! Don't think twice

Used for connection to my used eosm to fit my old EF lenses, works very well and feels a quality product. Very pleased with it. However I was able to fit a sigma 600mm mirror lens but the camera shutter button would not release, no idea why.

A very handy adaptor as it has a secure tripod mount to take the weight of a larger lens compared to the inbuilt thread on the camera body, giving a better balance. The available lenses are easily available “used” and of a wide variety.

Great alternative to the Canon version at a fraction of the OEM price.Solidly constructed, aesthetically similar and functionally identical to the Canon product, you can buy this product with confidence.

You want to use other lenses with your Canon M50 then this is the piece of kit you want.It is open uphold bewildered lenses to me. It's well made, small and light and so easy-to-use.

Works very well and allows me to use all my EF and EFS or equivalent lenses with the M5 body. I don’t see the point in spending a lot more to get the official Canon version.

Does exactly what it’s suppose to at a fraction of the price of the OEM. Well packaged and arrived quickly. That said, it’s going to cost me a fortune in new lenses!!
