Great toy. This is the size up from the smaller size and its really strong for its design .my German shepherd totally loves this toy and even falls asleep holding onto it .he has the smallest one too in the range as its still larger than a tennis ball so no chance of it being stuck in his throat .We have two of these now both red in colour .did have a green small one but it finnally broke in several places after about 2 years of constant use .So for us personally our 3 year old boy plays with it but his not a destructive chewer as some dogs may be he enjoys squeezing it and pawing at it and playing catch.it has lasted well with him.Not sure how it would hold out with an agressive chewer gnawingon it it probably would fall apart .But it can take some punishment as my young fella has strong jaws indeed .These hol -Ee balls really are good fun for a playful dog and easy to wash in the sink when they need a clean .A really good buy and you can squash it flat into your pocket if need be to take out on walks .I loop his lead through it so it dangles on his lead if his puffed out after a walk and being to lazy to hold it when its wet & slobbery to go in my pocket .Highly recommended indeed ??????

This is the 2 inch ball and we absolutely love it. We pack little treats or pieces of dog food inside the ball and our puppy loves getting them out. After several weeks of our puppy chewing on it almost all day long, the ball shows no real signs of wear or tear- no teeth marks, no tears, just dirty from all the play- it cleans easily if you care to do that. Most of the time with toys we are worried a piece will come off and either the puppy or our toddler will eat it- no concerns here.I would definitely buy another one of these if we either lose this or it somehow gets destroyed. Our puppy has already gotten our moneys worth out of this thing and never tires of playing with it- you can easily change it up by just what you put inside. The largest holes are small (smaller than a dime/1cm) but perfect for small dogs or puppies. This frequently keeps our puppy occupied for 10-15 minutes depending on what we put inside.

My Blue Lacy dogs are 45-55 pounds and are moderate chewers. I ordered the Medium ball. I use 1"x2" biscuits broken in half to fill the ball; I usually only put 4 pieces (2 biscuits) in at a time. It takes my dogs an average of 5 minutes to remove one half of the biscuit from inside the ball. This keeps them entertained while reducing the of treats I feel compelled to give them. Hopefully they won't learn to extract the biscuits more quickly.Another plus is that the Medium ball is too large to fit under the sofa and all of my other "close-to-the-floor" furniture, except the beds. I have already ordered a second one so each dog can play at the same time. I cannot yet speak to durability but the ball is made of a substantial, yet flexible, rubber. I've purchased several other food puzzles and hide and seek games for my dogs and this is only one of two that I would recommend.

Okay, so the 5" probably wasn't the smartest choice for a 12lb chihuahua mix dog. However - other reviews said that smaller balls were thinner, and I was afraid she'd destroy this too quickly. It's as big as her face, if not bigger. But she can wrap her teeth around a chunk of it and if she turns her head slightly to the side, she can run forever with it. It bounces great so she can actually play by herself with it.It smells heavily of rubber, with a heavy vanilla scent mixed in. They clearly tried to make this smell pleasant, which I appreciate but I don't love the smell at all. The dog doesn't seem to care. She happily gnaws on this and enjoys it despite it's size (compared to her).If your dog is not a demon, and in the 12lb range, go with the next size down. If you replace toys like you replace trash bags... well the 5" ball is thick enough to buy it extra life. :)

This is an awesome toy! It has been tugged on and chewed on (however, I do NOT let them chew unsupervised) and chased like crazy by our 3 dogs (they are each around 60 pounds). It's easy for them to get a hold on it and it turns into a 3-way tug of war. It's also perfect for throwing for a game of fetch. they love the bounce at the end and it's funny to see them sliding as they over shoot in their zeal to get it. I even let them play with it in the house since it bounces but is so soft it won't cause damage. I ordered the Medium one and it is just perfect for the 3 of them to each grab a ring and play a game of tug. I love the color since it stands out against the grass and bushes so we can find it easily.I am now ordering a large one and a small one so they have a variety. Great Price and Great Product!

I made the mistake of only buying one to "try it out" first, both my dogs couldn't get enough of it. I had to purchase another one right away! This toy gives new life to the previously de-stuffed squeaky toys that have been accumulating at the bottom of the toy basket ( I knew I would one day find a use for them!) I put some treats into the stuffingless toys and pushed them into the Hol-ee roller ball. The dogs had so much fun tossing the ball around and trying to get the toys/treats out. It keeps them busy for quite a while too! It's made out of hard rubber and seems pretty durable but I'm not sure it would hold up to really heavy chewers (I wouldn't call it KONG durable). For reference my dogs are a 12lb miniature dachshund and a 25lb shepherd/terrier mix and the medium size is perfect for both of them.

Several years ago I purchased the "original" Hol-ee Roller 5" ball for my Australian Shepherd. She is extremely rough on her toys- stuffed animals are ripped to shreds in a matter of minutes; rope toys are chewed and pulled apart in hours; and tennis balls are obsessively nibbled of all fuzz. Needless to say, I have to be very selective when purchasing any type of toy for her. When I found the Hol-ee Roller ball, I didn't know what the life span would be, but 3 years later, it's still her favorite ball and will fall apart from dry-rot in the hot Californian desert before she can destroy it. Knowing it's fate,I knew I had to start my search for a replacement Hol-ee Roller.I highly recommend ALL Hol-ee Roller products for their durability and the hours of enjoyment both of my dogs get from them!

Bought on November 1st, 2019, and has seen 'active duty' nearly every day. Our 7 month old husky mix loves it as a fetch toy, but she's a pretty aggressive chewer so we use this ONLY for fetching, and take it away once fetch time is over, leaving other designated chew toys for her to chew on (tennis balls, kong chuck-it balls, etc). We even engage in some light tug-of-war with this ball (her favorite game) and it hasn't torn.It stays outside 24 /7 and has held up in crazy Colorado fall and early winter weather - think mid to upper 90's (yes, even in early fall lately). overnight freezes, a foot of snow and everything in between, and it's still in one piece, so I'd say it's pretty durable, especially considering the reasonable price. I'll probably buy a couple more for backups.

We bought this ball (size medium) to get a pool toy to teach our Portie to dive.It sinks in water and that is what we wanted. However, during the early stages of training,I wanted to make it neutral buoyancy, so I put two lighted cat balls inside (B0057XF9R4).You do need to seal the battery slot with silicon. It works FANTASTIC. The motion activated LEDsmake the ball easier to find in the depths of the pool, and the dog LOVES it even more than her Wubba. Our dog is a chewer and destroys most toys. She only gets this toy in the pool, but she still tries to devour it.It has held up to three months of 1 hour a day swimming and fetching in the pool and has no sign of damage. The balls slip thru the rubber holes (in a medium sized ball)easily with some lubricant.

Our dog, a 6 yr old, 20 lb Boston Terrier, destroys most of his toys in 30 minutes. The surviving toys are often super hard toys that make too much noise when they hit the floor. We love on the forth floor, and we hesitant to play with our dog at night because of the noise concern. This toy has been, however, an exception. It's made tough, and it has been lasting for months. The material is, however, soft enough, so it doesn't make annoying big crash noise when it hits our wooden floor. Our dog still likes it and play fetch as well as tag-of-war. I was originally worry whether the size is too big for our dog. But the holes make it easy for him to bite. It's a bit heavy. So it's not for a gentle little dog,but it was perfect for our dog and our living situation.

I used this simple Hol-ee Roller dog toy from JW Pet to keep my dog busy and give him something okay to destroy, rather than stuffed dog toys. I filled the toy with cut t-shirt scraps. Before I could even finish stuffing, my dog was already pulling it back out! He loved it! He would roll around with it, pulling all the scraps out. Yes, it creates a mess to clean up, but you just re-stuff it and let them have at it again. It doesn't last too long, depending on your dogs skill, but it's still worth it. But I'll add that my dog has stopped using it after a week. I'm wondering if I put in a new set of t-shirt scraps (clean), if it will revive his interest. I also read you can put treats in there with the scraps, too. Good luck and enjoy!

There are few things we love more than the Hol-ee Roller. We own 4 I believe -- different colors and sizes. My dog loves the 5-inch because we can kick it and it flies through the air at a good distance, whereas the larger version tends to slow down quickly and the smaller version doesn't have enough weight to travel. As for durability, my dog is 20lb Mini Aussie and tears most things apart the second he gets them. The 5-inch is perfect because he can't get a paw on it to hold it down while his teeth pull it apart (i.e. most stuffed toys). One version did have a hole that was filled in with a solid piece of material, which he chewed around and out.He likes it better though because now he can stick his nose in it while carrying it!

By itself, the ball wasn't our dog's favorite toy BUT friends of ours shared that they tore up pieces of an old pair of jeans and stuffed them into the ball. I cannot state how fantastic of a toy it is now. Whenever we need to keep him busy, we'll wrap a treat in a strip of old jeans and stuff it in along with the rest of the pieces and he goes frantic searching and pulling out all the jean pieces. It definitely can make a bit of a mess with jean strips everywhere but totally worth it! Our dog has incredibly strong chewing skills for a medium/small dog and can go through toys in minutes (bones in hours) but stuffing the toy has not only kept him busy, but he hasn't chewed through the ball and its been at least a year!

They love it, I was worried they would destroy it, read the reviews, 2 bites and a tennis ball is toast, they don't like Kongs, they don't like jolly balls but love to chase soccer balls but those are not practical in the winter in MN . . . the only thing they love that survives is Nylabones, they have 3 year old Nylabones that they still chew on . . . well they got this ball, the 9 inch version for Christmas, they LOVE it! Chase & then tug of war over it! I have two 60 pound Olde English Bulldogges, Mother & Son, 5 & 3 years old. So far there is not a mark on it, really surprised me as Mera has done some heavy chewing on it. It worked out GREAT.Can't wait for spring so they can play with it outside :0)

This is a perfect toy for pets! It is durable, flexible, and safe for indoor use. The one I received was blue, not the red that is pictured, but not an issue for me at all. It is big enough that it is not easily lost under furniture, but because of how it is designed, even puppies with small jaws can grip through the holes. Ours loves to play tug with it. What surprised me the most is that it actually has a pleasant smell to it!! It may sound weird, but I expected that normal stinky rubber smell, I was pleasantly surprised! I have played with this toy every day with our puppy for about 2 months now,and still has a pleasant smell and is holding up to the abuse of sharp puppy teeth with no problem.
