I've used nothing but Skullcandies for years, but they would ALWAYS just break just as the warranty would go out. It was like clockwork. I've even went up to the $60 range once, thinking they would be a little more durable - nope. But about two years ago, I had wised up to the game and decided that if my in-ear headphones are just going to break like clockwork, I would stop paying for the Skullcandy name (I've never really heard a difference between headphones, I like my music loud and I would EQ the bass up anyway.) So I went to Fry's and picked up a pair of these for really cheap. Now, mind you I was careful with my previous headphones, I would always wrap them up and store them in their little case when I wasn't using them, they were almost never tangled. These, I've been brutal with because they're cheap. But, they're still going strong. the cord has split into two halves along the middle, they've been thrust in and out of tight jeans, they've been kept in a backpack with books, I've taken them to class almost every day, I mean, these things have stood up to a whole slew of trials and they've lasted me longer than any pair of headphones I've ever owned. Two years (and counting) is a long way for my $15 to go.Pros:Great BassDurableCheapComfortable (Didn't mention this, but they're a really good fit in my ears, previous headphones always left an open gap, these are perfect.)Cons:I've been told the high-end is bad

my only criticism is that these are a bit big for in ear headphones . that said they do make a big sound .great choice of colours now . i lost my first ones which were red (the only colour at the time), and decided i liked them so much i was going to get another pair (green this time).they look cool with the lime green cables .like all in ear phones they come with a selection of tips to ensure snug fitting .the tips are angled into the ear canal and the main chamber sits in the ear nicely.the sound for the price is staggering .thumping , booming bass . low subs , well rounded mids and clear highs .may need a bit of running in but sound pretty good after a couple of hours play .(may sound a little flat at first).sound isolation is pretty good and cable noise almost non existant .i listen to most kinds of music from classical and kate bush right through to thrash metal , dub step and hardcore dance , these phones work well on all at all volumes and improve with use .the next phones above these for sound quality are the sound magic e10 's but you are looking at double the price .for budget in ear phones , these are up there with the best .if you don't want to spend hundreds of pounds for big sound earphones (some of which can be very clinical and bright in there soundstage) you can't go wrong with these barrels of warm sound tucked into your ears ..... and if you don't believe ME read some more reviews .

JVC Xtreme Xplosives In-Ear Headphones HA FX101-AOn package :Frequency Response : 5Hz - 20000HzSensitivity : 101dB/1mWCord Length : 1.2mDriver : 10mmAccessories : 2 extra sizes of padsGold plated plug 2.5mmas tested on a scale from 1 - 10 :Noise isolation: very good (7 - 8.5)Bass Response : excellent (8.5 - 9.5)Mid-range (vocal music) : acceptable (4.5 - 6.5)Mid-range (Speech) : good to very good (6 - 8)Treble : very good to excellent : (7 - 9)comfort : very good (7 - 8)Overall : very good (8 - 9.5)Comfortable and snug, they don't fall out easily. The sound isolation is very good. The bass response is outstanding. the treble is very crisp (too crisp sometimes) but mid-range suffers a bit during (normal)vocals which are almost drowned out by the bass and treble.Compared to Genius HP-02 LIVE Earphones (which, for the price, are amazing) these have much nicer bass and treble, and about the same mid-range.If price is an object ... go for the genius ... you can give them away if you don't like them and they come with a little velvet bag to keep them in.Overall these in-ear are outstanding for the price. I recommend them for Dub-step, Heavy Bass, Pumping rock, Reggae, Rap, Ambient, classical music ... I don't recommend them for vocal/opera vocal classical/live rock (although they sound great ... the genius are more linearly responsive and therefore better all-rounders).

I have bought these headphones not ONCE, not TWICE, but TWO TIMES. They are great. The first ones I had were red and now I am trying green because I am an outgoing young fellow. The sound quality is great - I listened to an album by The Beatles the other day and I'm sure I heard Ringo do a fart. Incidentally I would rather hear Ringo fart than listen to his solo album ever again. Not even JVC XTREME XPLOSIVES can make that a pleasant experience. Before I go let me tell you some other useful information about this product. There are 3 bud sizes so whether you have tiny weeny ear holes or echoey cave-like ear holes you are safe. I use medium because I'm not a freak of nature. It feels like a little music bug is nestling in my ear, like the babel fish from Hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy, but musical. I call it the Rave-L fish because I listen to a lot of trance music. They will last for TWO YEARS. Well, my first set did. That's about as long as a hamster or rat will live. If I had to choose between a hamster/rat or these headphones I would choose the headphones. I know this is true because I literally just bought my second set of headphones, instead of a hamster/rat.

Bought these almost exactly 6 months ago. I'm writing this review just as these wonderful headphones are on their deathbed. Unfortunately, whilst walking home from work, a heavy crackle and cutting out unless you hold the wire in a weird position, has developed. Now for the actual good bits: This product has lasted these past 6 months incredibly. I have worn them EVERY SINGLE DAY for the past 6 months, for at least 1/2 and hour each time, sometimes more like 3 hours at a time. They have been underwater, exposed to sand, and numerous batterings from the washing machine. And they have only just broken. The quality of sound they produce is very decent for such a modest outlay, and they are superbly comfortable in the ear. They have lasted triple the amount of time any of my previous headphones have lasted, and have been wonderful throughout this 6 month period. As I type, I am buying a new pair of these beauties. I hope they last as long. I'm sure they will.P.S From memory, the delivery and service was prompt and professional. Enjoy these wonderful headphones - I fully recommend them :)

If you're looking for a decent pair of headphones without spending a huge amount, you can certainly do a lot worse than these! I've went through countless pairs of headphones over the years and I don't think any come close on value for money. Provided you like fairly heavy bass, I think you'd be hard pushed to find anything that compares for any less than five or six times the price .The headphones are comfortable and whilst they might not really be suitable for running, they are secure enough otherwise. My only criticism is that the wires are fairly thin, so you need to take care of them otherwise it's likely to go at some point - the previous pair I had eventually lost sound in one ear after a year of heavy use,but I think that was mainly due to my wrapping the wires too tightly. All things considered they are a fantastic pick for a budget pair of headphones, with decent build quality and sound well above it's price point. If you see these on sale for £10-15, don't hesitate to buy yourself a pair!

I bought these for mainly listening to podcasts and the odd album whilst taking the dog for a walk. They're comfortable in the ear and feel secure, they form a nice seal and are good at keeping out outside interference as I walk along some of the busier roads. I like the colours provided, I chose the green as I have a tendency to lose or break in ear headphones. On that note they're still working :) and have been pretty solid, the cord is good with the connector being nice and slim and not catching on the case of my phone. I listen to a lot of speech audio so I can't say they've been tested to their limits but the sound is nice and clear and not muffled in anyway. The odd album I have listened to has been pretty good but the base could have a bit more attack/punch for phones called Xtreme Xplosives. For the price though I wasn't expecting that much and they've lasted a lot longer than I thought for someone with my track record. All in all I'm happy with them.

I've ordered these headphones on january 2013. I've been using them intensely for this whole time, wether to run, the gym, school, beach, bus trips , etc. They've been pulled, pushed, stepped on, had sand on them, sat on, and suffered a bunch of other harsh conditions, and untill this day they work and look as brand new as the day i got them.I'm no audiophile, and i don't have a large collection of headphones to compare, but these headphones always gave me quality sound with that extra bass that i much need for my daily runs and sports activities. The in-Ear feature also works wonders as they block the surrouding sounds, keeping me focused in my studies, bus trips and my training in a very effective way.Actually, it works so well, that i've used them to block the sounds of my appartment in the morning so i could sleep. The only negative aspect i can think of about these headphones, is that it doesn't come with replacement rubber buds.

I went for a pair of JVCs through my brother's recommendation. Many people complain about earphone sounding 'tinny'; these ones only sound 'tinny' if they are not put in your ear canal properly as I have experimented and found that when they are in place properly they sound superb. There is a lot of bass without losing other important sounds and without it being overpowering. I have tried various genres of music and they all sound perfectly clear. I think however it slightly leans more towards dubstep/naurally beaty songs such as dance/club. I normally get Philips earphones but wanted something bassy at a lesser cost and these do not cease to disappoint. I have quite small ears and canal but they fit fine.Sometimes they gradually slips out after a while of chewing some food or gum. Would highly recommend to anyone. Also there are various colours for this type of earphone found on this site.

These headphones are really comfortable, great sound quality and block out a lot more external noise than my old headphones. Why only 4 stars? The headphones themselves earn 5, no question. But the packaging was designed by Satan and the fact that the headphones survived it is perhaps another testament to their quality. The only way in to the packaging was using a pair of scissors which form (and I am NOT exaggerating) part of the standard equipment for an engineer who works on the world's nuclear reactors. Even so, it was a miracle no part of the headphones was damaged extracting them because my fingers did not survive similarly unscathed.Manufacturers of many similar products, please note. YES,make packaging which protects the contents but for goodness sake make some form of access so the product can safely be removed by the legal purchaser.

I bought a pair of these about 18 months ago for college (for the bus ride every morning and evening mainly). They've lasted until now and I have used them most days on my PC as well, so the build quality is clearly amazing. The bass is something else; you don't actually realise how important bass is in music until you've truly heard it in great quality like this.Like I said, I've had them for about 18 months (got them off eBay) and they are just starting falling apart in places now, the wires are coming loose from the wire splitting section and the left speaker/earphone has now stopped working, so I came here to buy another set and decided to write a review while I buy a new pair. These earphonesare £10 on this Amazon page and they put £50-£100 earphones to shame and last a couple of years, you can't go wrong with buying these!★★★★★

First of all, I'm a sucker for headphones, especially red ones, so the fact that they are cheap and red is already a big plus for me. (I know, no logic). Anyhow, got them yesterday and they are currently playing Swedish House Mafia whilst I write this. First fortunate mistake I made was that I thought I was buying the HAFX1X ones and was disappointed that there is no case with these, but as it happens that these are an upgrade to the X1X's I'm not fussed about the lack of case. They are good looking, appear well made (although getting in the packet cut my finger - I wish companies would stop using blister packs) and the sound is excellent, nice bass without losing clarity.Certainly as good as my Shure E2C's that I've had for nearly 10 years and regularly go back to. Don't think you can go wrong for £10. Jump in and enjoy the sound.

At last! In-ear headphones that don't fall out. It's not clear from the illustrations that the kit includes two extra sets of silicone rubber canal cups, so you have a choice of large, medium or small. I know it mentions this in the extra product details, but I was almost tempted to go for the far more expensive Sennhausers.Excellent sound response from Baez to Beethoven. I don't find any further nose cancellation necessary, and connected to my Sansa Clip MP3 no one else (including wife in bed) can hear my music, even at high volume. The instructions to not use them whilst driving etc. brought to mind the recent McDonalds TV adverts about paying attention to your srroundings - wear them atyour own risk on the street.Allow plenty of time to unpack them - the package is so theft-proof as to be almost customer proof as well.

Brilliant headphones! My husband is really fussy about speakers, sound systems and headphones etc. whereas I'm not bothered as long as they play tunes. He has a pair of Dr Dre's Beats and swore that they could not be beaten. I, on the other hand, would never pay that much for headphones in a million years so went for these as they were a price that I was happy to pay and I wouldn't be panicking about breaking or losing them etc. When they came my husband tried them and was gutted that they were nearly as good as his Beats and way cheaper! Outstanding sound and outstanding value for money. Would recommend to anyone and would buy again without hesitation. More to the point,my husband - who is massively fussy about sound quality, would buy a pair too. He actually borrows mine even though he has a pair of Beats!

I found these earphones to be fantastic! They stay in the my ear very firmly and hardly budge at all, even during exercising. And if the earpieces don't fit, you get 2 extra pairs, one bigger the other smaller. I tried all of them before settling on the middle one but they're very easy to take off and put on, but don't worry; they're not going to come of in your ear and get stuck!A few minor gripes with them is that the cord is relatively thin and i do sometimes worry its going to rip or tear in half. But I have sat on them a few types and they stay in my pocket without getting (ridiculously) tangled. But ultimately I think they're fantastic earphones and you should definitely try them.
