When Jurassic Park came out I was amazed by the genius of the movie, the fantasy and realism, i was hooked. So when i saw this game although a while later, i thought I'd buy it. Basically in the game you start off with an empty island. You then have to build your island from scratch, starting with an entrance, paths etc with the money you start off with, then you open your park and visitors come and pay, the more money you make, the better you can make your park, you then have to send diggers out to find new dna samples to research and therefore create dinosaurs which you breed and enclose on your island. You are resposible for everything in the park, feeding the dinosaurs, employing staff,even sedating dangerous dinosaurs by shooting them from an helicopter. The better your park is the more satisfied visiotors will be and the better reviews, income and star rating your park will earn. Disasters such as T-Rex rampages and tropical storms will happen and you have to act fast in an emergency to ensure you dont lose control of the park. The graphics are really great in this game and the dinosaurs are very realistic, you can zoom in and watch your dinos and visitors at any time, the building facilities offer many great ideas to make your park interesting and its great fun when you research a new dinosaur to 100% and get to breed it and introduce it to the park, especially the dangerous carnivores like T-Rex and Spinosaurus, dinosaurs consist of herbivores and carnivores and you have to enclose them accordingly, dangerous dinosaurs must be fed with live animals and be kept an eye on in secure fencing. You can create tour rides in the jurassic park explorer vehicle which you can drive or take a hot-air baloon ride around the park and take photos of your dinosaurs to sell and make more money. Your visitors also consist of different types such as fun lovers, nerds, nature lovers, who all get satisfied by different aspects of your park, so you need to put though into your park to keep them all happy, for example a fun lover would like to watch a carnivore eating a live goat so you need to build facilities so they can see this up close, you can check on each visitor in your park, what they think and how many dinosaurs they have seen since they arrived, it is quite complex and you need to think with this game. Although there are fun aspects and extra features where you can do different types of missions in a ready made park such as hunt down 10 T-Rex's that have broke loose and are rampaging round the park and you will have to fly your helicopter find them, sedate them, then move them to safety. The game as alot of great fun features to keep you involved for hours, the only downfall is once you have built your park and earned alot of money and a five star rating which takes a bit of time but not ages, theres kind of nothing else to do but just watch over your park so I feel it could have gone on for longer but its a really fun game with great scenery and graphics. If you like creating and building games then buy this it is a great version but if you like alot of action shoot em up games then its not really for you. Overall: A suprisingly good fun and creative game to play and look at 9/10

Now if your like me you like these types of build your own world games like Sim City, or Theme Park, but now these are getting a little to same old same old. nothing new has come to our selves to breathe new life into this dying genre. but then Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis arrives.This game is brillent and it lets you build your own Jurassic Park and run it with visitors and all. You can build the famous visitor centre, have T-Rexs roaming the wilds of your park land.It all starts with one island and then you begin to build. as you go through the game you research new DNA and also your men discover new fossils and then with these you get bigger and better dinosuars to wow your visitors.This does add some great gameplay as everything is not there to start with.

Operation Genesis is a truely remarkable game. Any fans of the movies of books will enjoy this and even new comers to the franchise will fall to its magic. Starting off with a basic island template that you can change, you must transform a million doller wasteland into a five star, multi million holiday location! With all the dinos fans have come to love and fear, well known characters ready to help you out, and the prospect of facing natural disasters that can ruin all your hard work, we have the makings of a great game. The missions prove to be very exciting, especially when you need to tackle dino breakouts and need to rescue the Presiden who is stranded in the park.

Jurassic Park:Operation Genesis is a great game that had me hooked for hours. The graphics are brilliant and the dinosaurs look great. The game has 25 dinosaurs which is a lot when you think about it. The gameplay is great and highly addictive. Added exercises and missions give the game some needed longativity You have to keep different types of guests happy such as fun lovers, who like to see the herbivores playing and thrill seekers who like to see carnivores eating and fighting, this can be a bit of a balancing act at times. The attractions are good especially the safari adventure. However there are little annoying flaws: You can only unlock 3 dig sites per park which limits you to only 9 dinosaurs in 1 park.

This is the ultimate Theme Park game! Build your your very own Jurassic Park and fill it with the Dinosaurs you want! The game is very engrossing and can take up hours of your life. Admittedly there is so much to do and keep an eye on so you better be multi skilled! Build everything from rubbish bins to high security fences to Tyrannosaurs'. Dinosaurs will act according to nature. Carnivores get mad from time to time and you need to sedate them beore they rampage! Stick a herbivore in with a carnivore and see what happens!!!! It takes a while to get into and you need some serious revenue to build bigger and better dinosaurs, but saying that you have to excavate fossil sites first and buy fossils on the market to research a sufficient percentage of the genome!

The game was very exciting. It is occasionally hard though. Once you have mastered the basic coantrols then it is hysterically fun. You can watch how different species interact and see how amazed some people get when they see a Tyrannosaurus for example.The missions are sometimes very hard but it always turns out fun in the end...except one which I struggled in. I enjoyed the realistic graphics and the excitement of my visitors. The only two flaws that I found are these: creating a park is quite easy to complete (I completed it with a 5-star rating in 2 days), and when you are talking to a character called Henry Wu, the game accidentally calls him Harry Wu. All in all a perfect gift for anyone between the ages of 10 and 14,

Jurrasic Park - Opperation Genesis is the best park building game I have played. I got hooked and played on it all day. It's just like a real park/zoo. The dinosaurs can get sick, there can be tornadoes and thunder, but appart from that, it's pretty good. You start of with a blank island and a certain amount of money. Starting with the entrance you build up the park until it's ready to be opened. When the costommers come in, they pay, and you can buy more attractions, more dig teams, more dinosaurs, more, more, more. The graphics are OK, good sounds, and the peeople and dinosaurs act just like people and dinosuars in real life. (They had to make good guesses on what the dinosaurs acted like of cource.)

this is a great game for ps2 as it has kool graphics and the options are good 2.the design and layout is good and it does basically what the zoo tycoon games offer,however it doesnt conatin as much options to build wider varity of biulding options-another fault is the longivity of this game -it may amuse fo few days then thats it. but thanx to the missions -they provide some neded longitity-actually more bonus missions would have made this game a really great game-but it isnt that bad and the grap[hics are above average standard for next generation consoles -it really is kool being in true 3d rather than sprite based 3d or 2d images-so really its 3.5 stars it deserves but is faluts let it to

I rented this game out, thinking that it would be another badly made cash cow for the Jurassic Park franchise. I was extremely wrong. This game is one of the best games I have ever played, with a great premise, superb graphics and AI and a great end bonus ( not revealing anything)! When I had to take it back, I knew I had to own it for myself, and went straight out and bought it. I played the Sims also, and wasn't all that keen it, but running your own Jurassic Prk by far excels running someone's life. The dinosaurs are brilliant- I wasted an hour watching my Spinosaurus pace it's enclosure and longer watching my raptor pack. BUY THIS GAME!!!!!! You won't regret it, believe me!

THIS PS2 GAME WILL GET YOUR BLOOD PUMPING AND YOUR BRAIN WORKINGON OVER TIME, YOU WONT BE ABLE TO PUT DOWN THE CONTROLL. ITS EXCITING AND YOU NEVER NOW WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN. THE GAME ITS SELF IS QUITE CHALLENGING AND TO GET THE GAME ROLLING THERE ARE A FEW TASKS THAT NEED TO BE UNDERTAKEN. THE TUTORIALS ARE VERY HELPFULL THEY OVERLOOK THE BASICS FROM HATCHING YOUR FIRST T-REX TO SHOOTING DOWN A HEARD OF CARNIVORS THAT ARE DESTROYING YOUR PARK AND ITS REPUTATION!!! THIS GAME REQUIES PATIENTS AND SKILL. A KNOLEDGE OF DINOSAURS WOULD BE EXTREMLY HELPFULL AS THIS GAME REALLY GETS TO GRIP WITH NATURE.. this really isnt a kids game

a very good game my son says which on site b [which you can unlock by completeing all missions or by pressing R1R1R1L1] He keeps making a spinosaurus vs t.rex death duel.Most of the time spino wins and my son grrr's with anger, well onto the game now which you start with nothing but trees and land once you have a star or 3 you get a new dig site but the reason of this being a 4 star game because its so hard to keep visitors happy all the time when they complain the someon died of a twister and i say 'dont blame me blame the weather!' apart from that good game and exelent graphis so have a good time!

I was worried that this game might not have aged all to well. But I actually really enjoyed it after all this time.Obviously it has aged, and I may have a rose tinted view of this one, but I do believe that this game would appeal to fans of Jurassic Park. As far as a theme park simulator goes, this one really kept my attention.I should mention that this game requires a lot of thought before you do anything in the beginning. There are consequences if you don't build and manage your park well. For example, nobody likes being chased by an escaped dinosaurs.

On this game there is mission based levels as well as exercises to help u learn how to play the open ended games of operation genesis. Konami has done a good job on the graphics and sound while universal studios name and franchise(jurassic park)has combined to make one of 2003's little gems. It is scary coming up close to a T-Rex and being chased by raptors. some of the missions u take photos others are shooting dinos down. You also make your own park were u have to impress so u get visitors. all in all a very good game.

I love Jurassic Park espically this game it is like having your own dino pets exept you also have to run a theme park at the same time and make sure they dont eat the guests this game kept me amused, frustrated,angered and happy for months and also searching the internet for cheats like get more unlocked dinos besides the 4 islands you are allowed which is kinda sucks i think you should be allowed to unlock any amount of islands as you like maybe a sequel to the game just like this onebut more dinos and more stuff

This game is great because it is a very similar game to zoo tycoon and other management games in gameplay, but with the added unpredictability of rampaging dinosaurs. My 10 year old son loves it, and despite the 12 rating there is nothing too gory in the game, as the graphics are a little bit dated! More than the sum of its parts, this game is great on so many levels, it deserves classic status. Play how you like, with mission based play or simple park management.
