I bought this ship for my son's 2nd birthday. We had previously had rented a plastic pirate ship from our local toy library and he was obsessed with it. However I am not a fan of plastic toys and prefer wooden ones so decided to get this ship instead of the plastic one which was a little cheaper.ProsMy son loves itLots of fun little characters includedHas lasted at least 2 months with constant play from a toddler (no signs of major useage)It has wheels on the bottom so it can sail around the lounge.The doors are springy and so stay open when playing and no risk of hurting fingers.ConsIt looks slightly different than the picture and not as polished - not that my son mindsThe front pole keeps

I bought this pirate ship for my sons 3rd birthday, after looking at lots of plastic ones which were over priced and didn't included any figures I chose this one. It's a good size, has wheels on the bottom so it can 'sail' around the room, the figures are all lovely & include a girl! Which is always a nice touch.The pieces go together very well but for those with more reckless children (like mine) I think super gluing it together is not a bad idea.He really loved it and has played with everyday since, it really does encourage imaginative play with all the little hidden compartments, barrels, treasure chest and cannons.His big sister (6) also really enjoys playing with it.

This is a Christmas present so has not been used. When it arrived we all thought it marvelous and the little pirates (including the girl with the peg leg) were superb. The masts have been glued in and it's ready for wrapping. However, when showing it to a friend we noticed a slither of wood on the underside where the pegs forming railings are had broken off (about 3/4 inch) and will have to be glued back as the raw edges could cause splinters and further damage could follow. Hopefully this won't be too much of a problem and the ship will provide hours of play for my 2.5 year old grandson - as has the John Crane fire engine which we already have.

Bought this for my son's 5th birthday and he absolutely loves it. Had researched quite a few and was very tempted to get the Le Toy Van Barbarossa one but didn't fancy paying an extra £12-£15 for pirates and as this one comes with 6 for a cheaper prices then it was a 'no-brainer' as they say!Love the fact that it's got wheels and my son loves pushing it around on the carpet battling the high seas and pesky pirates.Really simple to put together and well made and in my view great value for money as I know both of my boys will have lots of fun with this for years to come.

Our daughter suggested this for our grandson. Once ordered on line, it arrived promptly and we removed it from the box and assembled it quietly. It was quite straightforward. Again, this was at my daughter's suggestion because it needed assembling or opening a box promising a pirate ship but only containing parts might have been disappointing. It's an excellent toy, brilliant for imaginative play and a very good quality. Excellent value for money.

I gave this to my son a couple of years ago, and it has remained a consistently played with and enjoyed toy by him and his friends. It has converted now from a pirate ship to carrying his growing troops of Lego mini figures, but seems to find new roles easily. He loves that he can roll it across the floor. Definitely one of my better gifts for him! (And It is an attractive wood toy, which I don't mind inhabiting various rooms in the house!)

I bought this as a present for my great nephew so I'm hoping he will like it. The ship is very well made and is actually made of wood. I've seen another pirate ship which was smaller and made of some sort of stiff board (could have been hardboard). It was a little bit cheaper than the Tidlo ship but looked very flimsy. So, I'm well pleased with my purchase as I think I've bought a much better product. The little pirates are quite cute too.

i have been pleasantly suprised by the quality of finish & overall quality of the product as i had not seen it before travelling down to london to see our grandson at christmas .he plays with it all the time i especially like the idea of it having wheels to enable it to be pushed along over carpet etc .and as we had looked at other products in the same category are very pleased we paid alittle bit more for a well finished product .

My son, aged 2 and a half, is tiny pirate fanatic. He was so delighted to receive this ship as a surprise for his recent good behaviour, and has played with it non-stop ever since. It is wonderful for imaginative play and is beautifully made. Although it is a little pricey, it is worth every penny as it as it is a timeless, durable toy which I suspect will be a favourite for a long time to come!

I have just assembled the TIDLO Pirate Ship "Paragon" and I concur with others that the instructions are a bit vague! However I made it and have yet to turn my Grandson on to it! but I know he will play well with it and I will report in detail soon. Others have said that "bits fall off" I used a small blob of Wood Glue on all but the sails. Excellent toy and recommend it for ages 3 upwards

This is a fabulous toy and my 4 year old loves it. We built it together - this just involved attaching the rigging and sails which all slot into place and can be easily removed.The pirates are fantastic and are a mix of boys and girls of differing colours. There are also some cannons, a treasure chest and barrels.Fantastic value for money and looks like it will last a long time.

My 2.5yrs old son loves it. His first and last words each day is 'pirate ship'. It comes with a full crew, cannons, barrels&treasure boxes. Looks sturdy too. Only complain is the front bow keeps falling out& front rail looks like it's likely to split soon, hence the 1star knocked out. Will get wood glue just in case. All in all, a lovely sturdy present for an active little boy

Bought this for my step daughter at christmas. Was very impressed with the quality and size for the price paid (£27 if i remember right - or there abouts). Was willing to pay more (£35) but I had the good fortune of it being reduced when I ordered it.I chose this over the other models (many of which are plastic) and i'm glad I did. Worth every penny and then some.

Really nice pirate ship, very sturdy and comes with 6 great wooden pirates. I love that they are all different, there are 2 girls, and different colours and one bold. love the diversity. As I got it for my daughter, I am happy it has girl pirates too. Nice little accessories, like cannons and treasure chest. Could nor recommend it more! It is superb!

My grandson who received this for his third birthday absolutely loves this ship........as do his parents who are talking about making sure it is kept as an heirloom for my grandson's children!......you obviously can't plan too far ahead! Anyway, a huge success, thank you.......and I am sure it will be well played with, not just preserved.
