My son really wanted the John Adams Chocolate Coin Maker. However after reading the awful reviews about how hard it is to do, I decided to buy this for him instead. I don't regret it! Since Christmas we have made LOADS of chocolate lollipops. I tend just to melt the cadburys chocolate in the microwave to speed things up and then my 4 & 5 yr old love spooning the chocolate in (in-between licks) and then 20 mins in the freezer! Done! If we give them out as little gifts to their friends. I tend to use my own decorative ribbon as the purple one supplied was a bit rubbish.

I am amazed that this set actually works as pink plastic things usually don't. However, it is well made and actually works! I was surprised that the tap-hot hot water bath melted the chocolate, but it worked. The little machine also wraps the lollies in bags (which my 10 year old loves), but there aren't many bags in the set. There are no ingredients in the set but, luckily, we had some chocolate drops (for baking) and a few white chocolate buttons in the cupboard. They worked really well. For info, Tesco chocolate drops and Cadbury's buttons work well.

Our five year old has been asking for this after seeing it on TV. It was well presented but not all parts are practical. The melting bowl would take too long to melt the chocolate which would be unfair for such a small child, so I melted the chocolate using my pots. The moulds and sticks are lovely and the holder seems nice but the wrapping idea is not practical as the turning does not work well enough with the given foil wraps. It’s still a nice kit and we will keep using it, I’m sure, we just have to adapt a bit to make it work better.

My 5 year old daughter wrote to Father Christmas asking for this gift - it was the only thing she wanted from him! Anyway, he duly obliged and she is completely over the moon with it. It's lovely to have a creative toy when the end creations are worth having (and so yummy). She has been making these for all her friends and they've gone done well everywhere. Probably a little bit pricey for what it is, but worth every penny for the enjoyment she gets from it.

This was top of my five year old daughter's Christmas list and it didn't disappoint. A super product from John Adams that delivers exactly what it promises. The instructions are easy to follow and apart from needing adult help with the hot water, my daughter was able to make the lollipops independently. She is delighted with this gift and it has already had a lot of use; spare parts are readily available on the John Adams website. A great gift!

My daughter and I have had a lot of fun together with this gift. The chocolate melter, which was obviously designed to be sure that children don't get burned, is a bit annoying - it's easier to melt chocolate on the stove or in a bain marie - but the package as a whole has been fun and inspired more interest in baking and candy-making. It's a great indoor activity for the winter months, and makes easy and cheap presents for myriads of friends.

My 9 year old loves this and she gets it out and can make them with no interference from me (except to fill the little container with hot water! There is very little mess, just a little washing up and they make perfect tasty chocolate lolly's very quickly. We use little chocolate drops that I get from the baking isle and make sure there is a packet kept in the box ready for when she wants to make some. I would definitely recommend this.

My grandson enjoys cooking with both his parents so this is a great present for him. The best thing is it does not need and cooking skills and only warm water which is inside a container which is filled by an adult is required. The child has to put the chocolate in the warm bowl in the container and keep stirring. My only criticism is that it is a CHOCOLATE lolly maker and their is no chocolate in the box.

Didn't really want to buy this for my daughter as thought it would be a waste of money but it is brill. Both my girls could make the lollies and i can see it will be used a lot. I did find it easier to melt choc myself instead of in the pot provided but the moulds r well made and the stick plastic so can be used again and again. I agree with others that say a mould for boys would have been good in it.

A good idea but doesn’t quite work. Apart from the moulds and sticks the rest of it was useless, especially the stamps. However by daughter (age5) was still very very happy to be able to make her own chocolate lollipops. The moulds have give her the confidence to experience with different sprinkles and chocolate types. I will be buying her more moulds and coloured foil for wrapping.

I thought this would be rubbish but my daughter really wanted it. Pleasantly surprised at how quickly and easily the chocolate melted (we used chocolate buttons). Haven't quite mastered getting the timing right to add a message to the lollipop after the chocolate hardens enough but before it gets too hard but still fun for my seven year old to do........and eat!!

My 8 year old daughter loves this and can do it all by herself! It is simple to follow with scrumptious results. She has made lots of these for for us all and for her friends. I ordered some refills yesterday (foil wrappers and plastic lolly sticks) from john adams website. They arrived today and were very cheap. Absolutely delighted with this!

Bought this for my daughter for christmas and managed to get round to using it boxing day!! its fab. Lollies came out perfect and the added touch of the bags n bows means your child can give them as gifts to friends.Just dont forget to buy your big bar of choccie to melt down as its not included. Excellent fun :)

We've had this for while and we still use it now.I bought this when my daughter was younger and we would make lollies together but now that she's old enough to make them herself she like to make them as little gifts for friends and family when she thinks we need cheering up.Love John Adams making kits!

This lolly maker is a great idea and my daughter enjoyed making the lollys. Didn't get to use the wrappers as the children wanted to eat them!, but only a few supplied which was the only down side. Easy to use with clear instructions and when left to the time scale the lollys mould came out perfectly!
