Of course, it begins as soon as one lifts the box: a perfect size that fits nicely in one’s hands with the lovely finish and graphics, nice little icons down the edge of people who, before you, have found and placed trust in this product. Then comes the little flap that one pulls to release the magnetic clasp and there you have the clear plastic cover protecting the gorgeous contents with the subtle yet up-to-the-minute styling of turquoise and silver. The wires and ear-bud drivers are located tantalisingly on the bright-white former that itself has a lovely tactile feel. In the centre the little charging cradle and the slight bulge in the track that contains the wires to accommodate the slim and elliptical control unit.Prise it all loose carefully and there it rests with a restrained yet robust elegance in one’s grasp. The headphones feel light and dainty but one realises that this is because of the technical and uncompromising stance that has been taken to create a product of the quality hinted at by the box and presentation. It never disappoints in such an arena. The App loads up effortlessly for Android or IPhone and pairing takes place within seconds of power on. The headphones come partially charged and also the wonderful little docking station acts as a USB interface but also has a battery within to charge the headphones and did so pretty quickly. Perfect if one is away from power. Voice messages tell you the state of charge and that power is on or more redundantly that power is off. The control lozenge adjust the volume and can also advance or replay a track and also allows one to use one’s phone. The Bluetooth interface appears to have been enhanced with extended options such as simultaneous pairing with two buds, it will remember up to 8 devices and will also connect to two devices simultaneously. The MySound App offers further enhancement. As one delves deeper there are little bags containing many ear-bud options (s,m,l) for that perfect fit and also ear fins that allow one to position the device either over or under ear and then tiny cable management clips, a shirt clip, and tiny bobbins to take up any redundant wire for a perfect and comfortable fit. There is a nice little sprung, self-closing pouch to retain all the buds the clips and ear fins for future or another’s use.Lastly, but most importantly is the sound which is as promised by such a product, and such a presentation, entirely as one would expect – excellent. The range too is more than adequate and the fitting and lightness of the product always comfortable, never intrusive, perfectly adjustable and always brilliant quality whether one is sitting quietly, in the gym or running outdoors. So, a brilliant, well thought out and ergonomically successful and practical product that also delivers effortless usability, comfort and quality. A perfect Christmas present for someone special. 5 stars with my thanks.

These are very expensive headphones that help to justify their price with excellent sound quality. They are delivered in premium packaging with a magnetic close box. Inside there are rather a lot of accessories including; auxiliary battery / charger, short USB to micro-USB charging cable, 3 pairs of different sized "Comply" ear tips, 3 pairs of different sized silicon ear tips, 3 pairs of different sized silicon ear fins, two cord clips, a shirt clip; an instruction booklet along with a safety / warranty booklet and a small branded case to keep them all in. The headphones have a limited warranty for 2 years (from Logitech!)They charge both the headphones and the auxiliary battery in the charger via micro SD in the charger. This is one of the issues because if you haven't got the charger with you or lose it you cannot charge the headphones directly. The headphones have a claimed battery life of 4 hours with the battery in the charger offering an additional 4 hours.Looking at the ear buds I chose the silicon ones, the "Comply" ones are memory foam and have a finite life but do reduce noise leakage and are more comfortable for some. The ear fins fitted my ears well which is not always the case and can be arranged in either the "under ear" or "over ear" position. The headphones are slim and compact as well as being comfortable to wear but you can feel the weight of the dongle, especially if the auxiliary battery is connected which is not too bad in normal use but distracting when running for example. The headphones paired easily with my Android phone and Apple iPod and are equipped with Bluetooth 4.0 that can pair with multiple devices or share a single device between two headphones. I nice feature is they verbally give the percentage charge when turned on so that you know whether they are fully charged or about to die. The inline remote gives control over your wireless music with volume buttons and track advance while also allowing for phone calls with the built-in microphone and you can hold the pause/play button to activate Siri on iPhones or iPads. There is also the Jaybird MySound downloadable app that allows you to adjust the sound and set up pre-sets.The sound quality was excellent and they are the best sounding Bluetooth headphones I have heard. The treble and mid range are detailed without being harsh and the bass is deep yet defined without being boomy. When you look at their compact size and the fact they are using Bluetooth this is a real achievement. That said the other Bluetooth headphones I am comparing them with are much cheaper and premium wired ones I have used such as Klipsch Image sound almost as good.So overall these are great sounding headphones but with a price to match.

There are lots of things I like about these headphones. They are beautifully packaged and when headphones cost this much I expect quality packaging, and it is; the manufacturer has a really good eye for detail here and the earphones themselves also have a pleasing aesthetic and look very stylish. They come with a range of fins, and ear-buds (silicon and foam) in a wide variety of sizes so it's very easy to find a fit that is both comfortable and keeps the earphones in place when on the move. They are light weight to wear and the clothes clip is very welcome to keep the wire in place as it does have a tendency to stray and catch on clothes when in motion. This is something I've always found to be an issue with thinner wire headphones like these over the ribbon type - the latter being my preference usually. They have been connected to an iPad and a iPhone 6s with no issues. Set up was very easy and I found that I was able to take calls, interact with Siri (nice surprise, wasn't expecting that), skip tracks, adjust volume (all the usual) very intuitively without having to refer to the manual. Initially I was disappointed with the sound quality because as others have said, it sounded quite tinny however once I downloaded the app I was able to improve this significantly. Via the app there several pre-sets on the dashboard home page, but if you click on to 'discover' you'll find a lot more with the option to save them to the home page. They are all customisable, plus there is the option to create your own. Given I listen to anything from classical to electro-rock, house to punk, new age to jungle (you get the picture!) I really appreciate being able to have this level of customisation. The sound quality isn't exceptional, but is it is very good though it's only fair to say it's only because of the app and the ability to customise the levels that make these better than the Mpow Swift's I was using previously. The charge is held well by the headphones and have easily been getting 4 hours out of them on a full charge depending on what I'm doing (ie just listening to music or taking/making calls/winding up Siri etc as well). I think the charging clip is a really nice feature on this product and I can see that this will really come into it's own on the beach next year. All in all these are nice little headphones and I like them a lot. Are they worth the price tag? Honestly, I would never spend this much money on headphones, and whilst I'm no expert I imagine you can get the same/more for less. That said, with the bells and whistles the app provides and if your're comfortable spending this much, going on the strength of the reviews you probably won't be disappointed.

I have owned these headphones for over two weeks and feel that they have been rigorously tested by my family. Both my wife (iphone) and son (Android) have downloaded the app to use the earphones with their mobile handsets and whilst I haven't got an app for my Blackberry passport, I can confirm that the headphones linked in and operated fine with all three of these. In addition, i have lined them into my Amazon Fire tablet and my ipad 2; no problems with either tablet either. From a charging perspective, charging is easy and I can confirm that on a recent mid haul flight, I was able to use them throughout the flight without any interruptions and at this new stage,8 hours is easy to achieve using the supplied charging clip. Both my wife and son felt that they were easy to customise and control wth the app and my son, who plays a lot of sport found them really good when training and cycling. He confirmed that they are sweat proof and I am grateful for the fact that there were several earpiece options - they are excellent, take a look at the video. So why 4 stars? These are a five star item in many ways. The ear fitting options are great, the apps allow for customisable sounds, the sounds themselves are pretty good, but are not the best I have ever used and I have to say that you can get 8 hours use out of them. So why take away a star? Couple of things really, firstly whilst the noise cancellation is ok, at this price point, I would expect it to be better and certainly in flight I found that the aircraft noise could have been blocked out more. Secondly and more importantly, I think that at this price point there should be a charger and you should not have to purchase a charger as an option or use a pc usb point to charge. Increasingly I don't use a laptop when travelling and prefer to use a tablet; thankfully I was able to use my Kindle Fire charger but I feel that something similar and guaranteed compatible should be part of the package. So would I recommend them? Yes indeed, allowing for the fact that the noise cancellation is not as good as some and that a charger could be included, I do think that they are really good headphones and I am pleased that I own them.

I have small ears and find that in-ear buds can be problematic. In recent years, manufacturers have recognised that a one-size fits all approach does not work and have provided different sized attachments to allow for a certain amount of customisation and Jaybird have done so with the Freedom Special Edition earphones I received and have been testing over the last few days. When my Jaybirds first arrived and I tried them, they wouldn't stay in my ears and that was just sitting and not even moving around let alone exercising! I soon discovered the pouch with the extra attachments and was able to swap out the pieces so I had smaller earbuds which fitted my ears more confortably. They piece that goes right down into the ear gave me a rather strange feeling of fullness in the ear when fitted which was something I hadn't experienced with other earbuds but may be due to the suction that is designed to hold them in the ear when exercising. You have options to wear the earbuds in different ways (over ear or under ear) and each way requires tweaking of the position of the 'fins' on the buds. I found over ear too difficult to manage (perhaps because of my petite ears) and have opted for under ear. I also find this has the added advantage of making the controls easier to access.Sound from the earbuds is pretty good. I've used them to watch catchup TV on my Kindle Fire, with my phone and to listen to music. Sound quality was fine for all these activities. Pairing was a doddle - much easier than some other Bluetooth equipment I've tried! The battery pack is tiny and charged via usb. Full charge can give hours of playtime and is ample for what I'm using them for.I'll freely admit that I'm not much of an exerciser so I really won't be working up that much of a sweat with these in so I can't really verify claims of being sweat-proof. That said, I've worn them when out working in the garden and out for walks over the hot weekend and they managed really well. These are very handy, lightweight eaarbuds that you really do stop noticing that you are wearing after a while. They have a good sound quality and you benefit from them being wireless when you are on the move.

Purchased these for use in the gym, where I found that I needed to really crank the volume up to drown out whatever is playing over the loudspeakers. I debated others, but liked how unobtrusive these looked compared to other wireless options. You'll be spoilt for choice when it comes to the fit. As well as silicone tips in various sizes, Jaybird also generously include Comply foam tips and the "wings" you see in the picture which are made from a soft rubber and help hold the each earbud in place. The Comply foam tips work well enough. You squeeze them then put each earbud in before the foam expands. This creates a comfortable and secure fit which helps block out background noise as well as sound leakage.Just note that Comply tips lose their texture over time and will eventually need replacing! Its definitely worth experimenting a bit with the fittings. Once you get it right, these really come into their own. Lightweight (without the battery back) and comfortable, the Jaybirds felt secure during my entire workouts.Sound quality is better than I expected, and the My Sound application for your smartphone does a great job letting you fine tune how they sound depending on your personal preference. I found that the "signature" profile set by default adequate to my ears but I appreciate the option to play around with the low/mid/high ranges on the fly.If I'm being picky, I do find the sound effects somewhat annoying when you power the headphones on or turn them off. I wish there was an option to disable the announcers voice. Also despite the included battery charger giving you an additional 5 hours of charge, they weigh on the right bud, which feels out of balance. The battery charger also clips on too firmly for my liking. I try to take extra care unplugging it from the back of the remote so I don't accidentally damage the cable. I hope it doesn't put unnecessary strain on the cables over time.

I have bought several sets of Bluetooth earphones in the last few years and I have been disappointed with them all. The "neckband" type is great during the Summer but not so good when wearing a coat and scarf. Other sets have heavy earpieces that are constantly trying to escape from your ears. Some fit well but the music quality isn't very good. What do I like about the Freedoms? They are very light and comfortable and a joy to wear. The sound quality is pretty good especially if you use the app and download new profiles to suit your music preferences. This is a great way of allowing you to tune the earphones to your preference and you can easily swap profiles if listening to different types of music.Battery management is excellent. Some of the reviews I had read complained about the short battery life (approximately 4 hours). This has not been a problem for me and the software helps you manage the battery life better than any other earphones I have used. Every time I turn them on, it tells me the battery level. I can check the battery at any time using a volume button or the app. When the battery drops to 20%, it warns you. When it is down to 10% it asks you to recharge. This gives me at least half an hour of use before the battery gives out. In emergencies, you can connect part of the charger to give you an extra 4 hours. This is so much better than earphones that give you little warning, then nag you constantly to recharge, before dying a couple of minutes later. At £35, these are a steal.Downsides? The music quality isn't perfect. I have better wired earphones, but there are always compromises in quality when using Bluetooth. Updating the firmware was a little fiddly, but apart from that, little to complain about. If I lost these, I would immediately go and buy another pair, and I haven't said that about any of my previous purchases.

I was looking at wireless headphones for the gym for a while. I've always preferred in-ear buds over bigger overhead headphones due to the lighter weight and freedom of movement with overall less bulkiness. The more discreet look is definitely my preference. When looking at other similar options from Beats, Jabra, Plantronics, etc, the Jaybirds seemed the obvious choice due to the fact they offered a full seal in the ear instead of 'floating tips'. Those kind tips are safer for runners, as the allow ambient noise to enter, but in the gym I prefer to block out the outside world and have a clearer sound with deeper base. Not to mention, a better seal also means you don't have to turn up the volume as high!I'm sure my ears will thank me in the future...In terms of the buds themselves, I chose the Freedom's over the X3's due to the lower profile. Some users have said the controller is a bit heavy, which has some truth to it if the attachment is added. However, I've found with the over-ear orientation of the cable, this issue is removed and they remain snug in place with almost no noticeable weight. One thing to keep in mind is you do need to take the time to find which tips, fins and cable length works best for you. It's trial and error, but completely worth the investment as you will be using the headphones for a long time! In my case, it only took around 10 min and I now have hours upon hours of comfortable quality listening time. The sound profile of these headphones is great and the free app to select different music genres is easy to use and really makes a difference.Overall, I'm extremely happy with this purchase and glad I made the move. I also added the 2 year warranty and accident cover from Amazon as I thought with headphones this nice... what's £18 for the added for piece of mind!

In my lifetime I have gone through many headphones (rightly or wrongly I personally refer to them to them as earpieces) but the one thing I have often dreamt about owning was a set which didn’t have those annoying wires attached. Annoying for three reasons – 1) The wires get in the way 2) The wires tie you down to the item they are connected to meaning that you have to either carry it around with you or have to stay in one place and 3) The connections to the jack-plug and the earpieces are weak spots, meaning that they are easily broken, which is why I have managed to go through so many headphones. Up to a few years ago actually owning wireless headphones was nothing more than a pipe-dream for me but now, thanks to bluetooth, I finally have my cordless headphones. Have they been worth waiting for? The answer is yes, they have, as I think that they are excellent and have fulfilled all my expectations of them.I am neither a jogger or a keep-fitter but I love to walk and I have found these headphones to be ideal for listening to my music or downloaded radio programmes whilst I am stepping out, and I now feel as though I have a greater degree of freedom of movement, knowing that the earpieces will not repeatedly pop out whilst I am in motion! They are easy to charge and a full charge will last a generous four to five hours. They come with a selection of buds and wings that ensure that they fit comfortably in the ear and a small pouch to keep them in when not being used is also supplied.. The sound quality is very good but this should be expected as they are quite expensive; in fact it is difficult to see how such a high cost is justified as, being small. there is not a lot to them. They are very good though and provided that you don’t find the cost prohibitive I thoroughly recommend them.

I have a terrible time with earphones, and usually find them unbearably uncomfortable. In my search for a pair I can wear for more than ten minutes without ending up in a lot of discomfort, I came across the Jaybird Freedom Wireless Bluetooth Headphones. And what a lovely pair of earphones they are! They come with three sizes of bud coverings of two different materials (foam and silicone) and stabilising ear fins (depending on whether you want to wear them over or under your ears), so they should fit just about anyone. The foam buds are supposedly for sport, but I’ve been using them routinely and they’re very comfortable – I can easily have them in for upwards of two hours, which is unheard of for me!I’ve tested them in the quiet of my own house (lovely sound quality) and on a busy train (still good sound quality and good noise reduction, too, but you’re still aware of important announcements). There’s no bleed through at the volume I listen to them, and they’re very lightweight and easy to tote around. They’re not perfect, mind you – the name of the app appears to be case sensitive in iTunes, meaning it took several attempts to find it. If you hold the On button down ever so slightly too long when turning them on, they try to resync with whatever device is nearest, and I have to manually tell my iPad to recognise them rather than the app doing it for me.But, having said that, the battery life is good – up to four hours without the additional clip-on booster pack if you don’t want the additional weight, and up to eight hours with it. They charge quickly through the USB socket on your computer, and therefore through any charger that has a USB adapter. Added to the sound quality and the comfort, these are a very good product.

Having tried these out at rest and while running, I find my experience overall positive, but not perfect. These headphones are fit inside the ear, but instead of ipod style buds that fit in the ear, they also have ‘wings’ which curve inside the outer year giving extra ‘grip’. The basic headphones are light and easy to forget about while wearing, with a wire joining each ear piece, on which is a small control bar. On this control bar there is an extra component which must be clicked on to allow charging, and can be left on to allow for longer battery life (about double). I found leaving it on however felt slightly cumbersome if running – though ok at rest. When using, switching on or off or syncing with Bluetooth,a voice lets you know in the headphones. Basic battery life is advertised as 4 hours, which goes up to 8 hours with the additional component. I found I achieved a little less than this – and felt I was recharging more than I expected. The pods were comfortable enough, but even at rest I felt I was frequently readjusting – reinserting, to make sure they stayed in. It may be I just haven’t found my ideal size combinations yet – there are plenty of size options included to allow for as snug fitting as possible.Sound wise is where I was happiest – for such a small and light headphone I was pleasantly surprised how punchy the sound was, equally happy delivering some Beethoven and Bruch as something punchier with powerful bass. When out in the street the background noise was minimal, and there was very little leakage of sound that I could tell.So for me, plus for the sound, ok for fit and so-so for battery life.

Since upgrading to an iPhone 7 I've been looking for a decent set of wireless in-ear earphones. I use them primarily to walk to the station each day and commute on the train. About a month ago I purchased a set of Bose QC30's as they had great reviews for their noice cancelling abilities. After a few days I sent them back as I found the neckband annoying and that the wind noise was amplified when using outdoors. Over Christmas I purchased the all new Apple Air Buds. Love the way they connected and the nifty little charging case, however the sound was not ground-breaking and I was concerned that they could easily get lost, so they went back! After continuing looking for a decent set of earphones and reading lots of reviews,I decided to purchase the Jaybird Freedoms. They come in a nice presentation box with lots of different fitting options to suit your ears. At first sight I thought "Blimey these are small, there not going sound very good!". After pairing, fitting the correct tips (small comply) & installing the "MySound" app I was ready to test these babies. Within 2 seconds of playing a tune I was amazed at how these little earbuds can create such great sound. Then I started messing with the presets in the app. Wow the sound is cracking. If you read any negative reviews regarding sound, it could be down to the reviewers not wearing them properly and/or not using the app. Im not too concerned with the battery life as I never use them more that 4 hours a day. I would definitely recommend that you give these a go, you won't be disappointed.

Edited after using for a year: if you pay attention to the ear-bud fit, these really are a cracking pair of earphones. The problem I had with the bass-heavy sound was solved when I downloaded the Jaybird app - using one of the "Audiophile" presets gave me the clearer sound I prefer. I've also managed a year without losing the charger - overall, happy to revisit and revise my rating to five stars. The sound, after a few days of bedding in, is appealing. Maybe a little bass-heavy, which was a surprise to me, and they lack the openness of the Sennheisers - but then that's a lot to do with them being in, not on ears.I didn't have any problems with the Bluetooth reception, and pairing with an iPhone,a MacBook and a PC was straightforward. Less rewarding was downloading the Freedom app, which, in theory, allows you to customise the sound of the phones. I say in theory, because I never got the app to load. Who knows, it may be wonderful. All good stuff, so do I recommend them?Unfortunately not. There is one huge drawback. Charging is via a clip on rechargeable power back which attaches, in theory, to the control unit. I say in theory, because it's a fiddle to attach, and I never felt it was entirely secure. It came detached quite easily, and at around 3cm long it's very, very easy to lose. My concern is that when and if the connection goes, or you do lose it, you'll be left with a £200 scrunchie.

Before I purchased Jaybird Freedom I was using the Jaybird X2 which I personal wasn't impressed with especially the sound quality or the fit of the headphones as they never felt secure in my ears and back noise would leak into the sound even with all the ear pieces. So was a bit wary of purchasing another set from Jaybird, especially with the high price tag but after reading various online reviews I decide to purchase these, I have to say I was really surprised as the sound and the fit was really impressive. The sound quality of these is much more defined than X2 and with the app they really come into their own You can either custom the listening experience to suit your taste or pick one fromthe community where theres a lot to choose. The sound range of headphones is much better and my music has been given a new lease of life. The base is much better than the X2 and mid tone are crisp and clear considering these are Bluetooth head phones, the app really helps with this. They fit in the eat really securely and they feel very light in your ears compared to the X2 which always seem to feel loose especially when you running or circuit training.I've brought a lot of sports wireless headphones and I have to say these are the best ones so far, the only small thing is the cost of them, but a good pair of wireless headphones.

Just an OK set of earbuds. I just use them for non-physical activities (Not exercising – just sitting on a bus or train or walking round town) so I can’t comment on the sweat proof aspect really, suffice to say I haven’t had a problem. There’s a selection of earbud and clip sizes to choose from and I tried them all before settling on what I thought was the best fit. The clips to shorten the lead (cord management clips) are a bit fiddly and I stopped using them. I’m intrigued with the idea of having another power source to add another 4 hours play on to the existing 4 hours but I’m wondering why they couldn’t just make a power source that lasts 8 hours in the first place.Looking at other earbuds I see that 8 hours is pretty average for play time. There are other models out there with longer play times but 8 hours is OK. The charging system (the adaptor) just baffles me. Why have something essential that you’ll probably forget to take with you? On the plus side I quite liked the Jaybird App to customise the sound settings and I played around with it for a while. I’m no connoisseur or technical expert but I liked the experience of customising the sound and saving it. All in all, not bad but I just think it’s a bit pricey. My own Bluetooth earbuds cost a third of the price, hold a charge longer and sound just as good.
