This kit was quite an interesting build. There were one or two issue with awkward fit (requiring a fair amount of filler) and I decided to scratch-build some detail into the otherwise featureless cockpit, but dimensionally and shape-wise, this offering from Italeri was – I thought – very good, especially in terms of the options for the tropical filter. Although the paint scheme given was for the Desert TO, I decided to produce the 601 Sq version flown by Beurling over Malta – hence the slightly unusual blue colours in the picture. Only four stars because of the issues mentioned, but they can be overcome to produce an unusual model, so there is actually much to recommend this 1/72nd scale kit – not least the price,

Great model, easy to assemble and looks awesome in tropical colours. There’s choices of tropical filters etc. Only thing I found was the canopy was in 3 parts making it a little difficult, (not the best fit so may have to use a little filler), but that may be an advantage if you want the hood slid back.

I like this kit, scrubs up well as they say. Bought 5 now. A few inaccuracies but but nearly all Spitfire kits have those

Good Kit I was surprised that one of the options is a spitfire was stationed at Malta which is fantastic

This is a well produced model.The markings selection are a bonus to me.
