The product blurb for Issey Miyake's L'Eau Bleue D'Issey Eau Fraiche states that (and I quote) "a base of musk and white patchouli forms the foundation of the fragrance, while a gentle interlude of pink pepper, mate herb, and may rose lead to an invigorating crescendo of mint, bergamot, and rosemary." I don't know what either white patchouli or pink pepper is, but the overriding aroma I get is a strong floral one, with hints of citrus and mint thrown in; the closest comparison I can think of is perhaps that of a sweet meadow on a summer day. It seems like an unusual combination, especially for a man's fragrance, but I think that the other ingredients adjust the floral tones just enough to keep it masculine.However,if you buy a bottle of this stuff, be prepared to use quite a lot of it, because it has to be one of the lightest scents I have ever experienced. With some, a couple of sprays are enough to last the evening; with others, it takes a couple more. With Eau Fraiche, you have to spray on a fair amount of the stuff to give what I feel to be an adequate covering, any less and you only get the occasional hint (albeit a very pleasant one) of the scent's aroma. Of course, on an evening out your close lady friend(s) may find it perfectly adequate, but if you like the comfort of knowing that you smell of expensive perfume, and not beer and sweat, you may have to splash it on a bit.I bought this scent on a bit of a whim, having only ever smelled it on a tester card. I wasn't sure about getting some but the smell stayed with me (figuratively, not literally) for a couple of days and I decided to take the plunge. I'm glad I did, because Eau Fraiche has quickly become one of my favourite fragrances, particularly for the summer months. Its lack of longevity and projection might be a problem, particularly if you like to really smell your scent, but don't let that put you off if you're thinking about buying some - just spray on a little more!

I went on a bit of a fragrance buying spree recently and this is one of my most recent acquisitions. Although it's clear that it has the same DNA as Issey's L'Eau Bleue D'Issey Eau Fraiche, this is a stronger, muskier scent that lingers longer (both on the skin and on clothes) and seems more suited to evening wear. While the underlying odour is almost identical, the Fraiche version could almost be considered a unisex scent, while L'Eau Bleue's stronger tones means that it veers towards the masculine.Issey's signature floral notes are just as evident here as they are in the Fraiche version, but the citrus and sandalwood seem to have been ramped up to produce a lovely green fragrance that reminds me of walking through an orange grove surrounded by meadows.As said, the Fraiche version is very similar but lighter than this and has a more evident `sparkle' to it; they're most definitely two sides of the same coin but different enough to justify buying both.If none of that has convinced you to buy some, then consider this - I have had more compliments about this scent from female friends and colleagues than any other fragrance I own. In fact, some ladies seem to go out of their way to tell me how good it smells, and as someone who craves female attention, I consider that a very good thing!

I absolutely love this perfume on my husband and it's getting harder and harder to find in the shops. It's a lovely, sexy fragrance that's not too overpowering - to me it's a mixture of a lemony base with spicey overtones, certainly on my man's skin. I actually first bought it for him many years ago because a young man I worked with wore it and I really liked how refreshing it was to catch a whiff as he leant over my desk (ahem ;-) ). It is also quite unique and not widely worn, if that's important to you.

I bought this on the strength of reviews of other customers and I am a fan of the original. I decided to try this one and I am pleased with it. I agree with all the reviews and can add that I am of the opinion that the longer it is worn, the more subtle and even sweeter it becomes! My 2 grown up daughters like it too which also says to me, other ladies will like it too, boost, ha ha. I will be buying again. Great product, 5 stars.

Excellent product. I am not sure but I feel that the fragrance may be slightly different from batch to batch in this product. My first purchase was in Switzerland and I notice that there is a slight difference.If anyone else has noticed this, perhaps this could be beneficial to the manufacturer. But there could be other factors such as moisture in the air (humidity in the UK is very high!).

Did not buy it through Amazon, however this EDT is lovely.3 sprays after you shower across the chest and neck, and you can still smell it a day after.It's great too because the smell phases with time through the top, then mid, then bottom notes - all while the scent doesn't fade out.Would recommend, underrated, and can be used generously for an even better smell!

My first venture into this brand but it won't be my last. This has a lovely fresh smell and is perfect for the hot summer days. Even better, my wife likes it too! It's very good value and lasts a long time. As I type this I can still smell the scent on my neck/face from lunchtime today. It's genuine and very good stuff. You'll be happy to buy this for the price.

This is my favourite aftershave. It has a very distinctive smell and has drawn compliments from many woman. It has a punchy yet soft smell which is great for every day use although you do have to spray yourself a few times more than you would with another aftershave. All in all a great aftershave for someone who wants to be subtle yet make an impression.

I saw this on sale in our local supermarket. I smelled the tester and bought a bottle, as I can't speak french I did not realise it was a mans aftershave and I have been using it as perfume. I have just purchased my second bottle and I absolutely love the fragrance, and I think it is nice enough to wear as perfume, and will carry on using it as such.

After reading a number of reviews for various scents I decided on this one. Considering this was a shoot in the dark I’m really pleased with my selection. It’s a very masculine scent that my wife really likes and that I have received a number of positive comments about. Distinctive and highly recommended.

I stumbled across this a few years back and could not get the smell out of my head.I decided to purchase this and was not dissapointed at all.The item is 100% genuine and the item arrived the very next morning..I will be purchasing again without hesitation.Regards

Go this for my fiancé who loves the Isse miyaki range. Not had this one before but its definitely in the same vein as the other scents. More fresh and fruity than the original so great for spring. Lasts ages in his skin. Nice sexy man smell so highly recommend

I bought L'eau d'Issey, previously and that was divine. This......even better. It has a certain little edge (i guess this is called a 'note'), to the fragrance that is so provocative and distinctively sexy. Well, now you know what does it for me, then!

It has taken me a while to go back to Issey L'Eau Bleue but now I wonder why I ever went away as it is such a distinctive small and I receive compliments about all the time. I would recommend it to anyone at any age.....go for it.

I've been buying this for my husband for years - I love the smell. It's quite spiced and oriental, and isn't overwhelming. It's getting harder and harder to find unfortunately - I hope it's not discontinued. Very sexy scent.
