Not super impressive, but also not too bad. After six months (to the day) the "ribs" that hold it in a mattress shape came undone during the night. SPUNG! and suddenly there is a big bump running down the middle of it. Then SPUNG! another - now it's half the mattress bulged out with nothing to hold it in mattress shape, so it's shearing sideways and dumping me on the floor next to it as if I was laying on a partly inflated barrel shape. Can't really complain - it's not bad for what it is. A cheap $20 air mattress with a built in foot pump.Pros:- The velvet stuff on top feels nicer than just laying on plastic. I put a thick blanket and sheet over it,but it's still a nice touch.- It's $20 (at least when I bought it).- It has a built-in foot pump, in case you don't have, or can't find, a better pump.- Not a bad size, for me at least, and I'm 6 foot 3.Cons:- SPUNG!- The footpump isn't the most convenient thing in the world. It's basically a square soft-plastic bellows, built into the corner of the mattress. You need to stand there and press it with your foot, blocking the airway and pushing the air into the rest of the mattress, then lifting your foot to unblock the airway and suck in more air. Works ok in the absence of anything else, but wouldn't want to have to do it all the time. Also, the footpump is soft plastic, but if you sleep in the corner much, it's going to be lumpy.- The first few nights it seemed like it lost air, but I think the plastic just stretched. You will need to put in more air the first few times you use it, but then it will keep the same firmness, mostly. At least mine did.- I stepped on the side of it and it tore, just a bit. Fixed it with a couple layers of super-glue and packing tape, just to get it through the night until I ordered something else. Surprisingly, the patch lasted forever, or at least longer than the mattress, so I never needed to replace it until SPUNG!. If you don't want to have to MacGyver it though, you should be careful not to step on the side of it very hard. Maybe that was just mine?

The smell other reviewers complained about was not an issue because I let it air out beneath an open window for a week before it went camping. I had not wanted to spend much because I camp rarely and this mattress did not disappoint. It stayed inflated despite my crawling around over it multiple times and a large golden retriever jumping on and off it for the two nights we camped. The foot pump is a waste; I could inflate it faster with my mouth, and half inflated it by blowing when a friend inadvertently unplugged its deflation valve. Though the foot pump works fine, it only inflates a puff of air with each foot press, meaning you'd be pumping all afternoon to fill it for sleeping. The slight ridges made the sleeping surface comfortable and it was indeed standard twin sized. I kept it covered with an old bedspread in my tent so am not sure how puncture resistant it was since my dogs claws never got a chance to try.One warning: there are actually two valves which plug in to each other. The lower valve is for full deflation and when pulled out the deflation is nearly instant. If not firmly plugged in, it will pop out the first time you neel on the mattress, deflating it quickly. The upper valve is one-way, keep it plugged in to the deflation valve but open and you can blow in to it, attach an electric pump or use the foot pump. Once it's inflated, close the upper valve to prevent dust from entering which will ruin it.Because this mattress is cheap, the valves are cheap as well and should be handled carefully and closed tightly. They are likely to be the first thing that wears out and even after a few uses are for me,now loser and need to be pushed in harder to close.

We loved this air mattress- it is easy for my children to pump up on their own because of the the built in pump. My children love to have sleepovers in their siblings rooms and we allow them to do this any time they like to encourage their close relationships but as they are getting bigger they needed a sturdy option ( the ones who had to sleep on the floor) instead of just a flimsy mattress...this worked perfectly because we can immediately let the air out and put it away but pump it up again that night. As my youngest grows and no longer shares with his brother, we will probably be ordering another. DEF worth the price...I can't say what it would be like for adults though...Months later- this is actually in the garbage. It was worth the price for a few nights sleep ( under 20 bucks and the months it lasted) and I would still recommend it for camping. It paid it's dues but if you are looking for a better long lasting option I highly recommend looking at Amazon's Milliard 6 inch memory Foam Tri-fold Mattress with Ultra Soft Removable Cover with Non-Slip Bottom which we ordered as a replacement and we LOVE. It's a hundred and fifty dollars more but can be used as a bed, folds up and is very comfortable.

Okay so I had mixed emotions about these guys! I ordered 2 for a camping trip with my niece and I opened one before we left to see exactly how bad the foot pump was (from reading other reviews) after about 10 minutes and the valve randomly popping out and all my progress lost, I decided I would take along an air pump. Fast forward to the camping trip- the converter for the air pump not strong enough= 7 year old and I are forced to pump up bed with foot pumps. I have to say, it was a chilly night and the pumping got us nice and warm before crawling into bed!It really wasn't that bad though- I wouldn't necessarily do it willingly but again, not the worst thing ever! They worked well and we both slept very comfortably both nights- we did have to repump some the next night, but it wasn't bad! I have to say, for the price and how well it worked- totally worth the 5 stars! My niece even, as tired and cold as she was, made a game out of jumping on her pump to blow hers up (because kids need to learn to do these things for themselves....). Great purchase- would recommend but will also bring a stronger converter next time too...

I slept on this for 4 months while living in a tent, and I loved it! I did have to add some air a couple times a week, but I do prefer a very firm mattress. I found that once I learned how to use the manual pump, it was a great convenience. Otherwise, the bed's the same as any other twin air mattress: soft flocking, durable.Tips-double check the air valve at the foot of the mattress. Then check it again and tighten it. If you don't have it good and tight, you will go from firm to medium overnight.-To use the foot pump, make sure the mattress is completely unfolded. Puff a few breaths into the mattress yourself, just enough to start to inflate the area near the pump. Remove both white caps/lids from the foot pump, place it opening-side-down, and pump! It seems to work better when you already have a little bit of air in it, hence the initial puffs.-It does have a horrendous smell fresh out of the box. Let it off-gas for a few days before you try to sleep on it, preferably in a location far away from daily activity! After those first few days of the odor, I never smelled it again.

So I read the bad reviews and gave it a go anyway since it is wonderfully affordable. Yes it smells (it's plastic so I assumed it would smell like plastic, no surprise). Yes the foot petal takes longer than 2 mins to fill it up (try some where around 5 once you get the hang of it). And correct this does not come with a bag.All of that aside for the price it did what it was supposed to do, kept a 200 lb guy off the ground for 6-8 hours. It did a great job of that for the price. So if you are looking for a simple design with no extras that may take a little leg power to pump up (and a cpr like move or two) you came to the right place look no further. At 6'3" I had to curl up a bit to keep my feet on the mattress,so if you are a straight sleeper look for a longer bed however if this is for occasional use (especially outside given the plastic smell others can't stand) then go for it and expect what you pay for (functionality) and no more.

Ok for sleeping but the foot pump part is not easy to use, and did not work as described. In order to pump with the inbuilt bellows, I had to reinsert the white bung to seal the bellows before pushing down on it with both hands to pump the air into the mattress. Then I had to pull out the bung to reinflate the bellows from the outside. It did work, but it took a lot longer and was tiresome because I was down on my knees and pushing every pump with arms and shoulders, as well as having to remove and replace the bung with every pump.If you have a separate pump it would no doubt work much better with that, and it has the valves to use in the normal way.Other than that it's perfectly fine and provided a comfortable enough sleep. As with any airbed don't pump it all the way full or the bed will be really hard!

This is not the fanciest air mattress you can buy, but it was cheap (I paid $20 on Amazon) and it does the job. It is comfortable enough to sleep on for a few days (better than the floor/ground) and the fact that it comes with a pump built in means less stuff to store. The foot pump works, but it is not the easiest thing in the world to use. It took 5-10 minutes to get it blown up all the way. I like not having a pump to remember to take with it and I like not having to rely on batteries/power cord (good for camping). If if I needed another air mattress I would get this again, but if I was getting a bigger size I would get one with a hand pump instead of the foot pump.(In fact I have a queen size Intex air mattress with a hand pump and it works great).

We got this for trips since hotels usually have 2 beds that sleep 4 and we have a family of five. You don't need to plug it in (good luck finding a plug in a hotel) which also saves weight. It also doesn't require batteries which saves $$ everys time the battery goes dead and weight from batteries/motor. It does take about 3-4 minutes of pumping with your foot but once you get used to it, it works well. We bought it for our 4 year old, but I used it on my last camping trip and it's as comfortable as our $180 queen air mattress.,.it even slept myself and my 9 year old when he got scared of the dark during the middle of the night. It's larger than it looks in the picture.I'm 6 foot tall and have no problem sleeping on it.

I ordered this bed for my hubby after a couple of miserable and uncomfortable nights at scout camp on the VERY expensive REI quick set cot. (See reviews on their site.) Long story short, this provided a MUCH needed rest for a guy who is 6ft tall and a reluctant camper at best. The pump took a little getting used to. I'm not sure exactly how it was designed to work. (The instructions are interesting to say the least.) But, I used a sock covered foot to cover the hole as I pressed down on it. Then, move your foot as you lift out of the way so that more air can fill the plastic chamber. It works. When you have it as stiff as you want it, put the cap on.For the price, it can't be beat.

This has been the most reliable air mattress I ever ever owned. I have not slept on it for more than one night but will be testing that out this weekend. The foot pump is obviously not as powerful as a motorized blower but this does have the valve for that option.I find I can pump the matress in about 5 minutes with the foot pump and makes it easier to travel with. In the rare instance I need to re-pump it the foot pump makes it easy to do.This would have received 5 stars if it came with a travel bag. It folds up to the size of a sleeping bag even with the built in foot pump.

I bought this mattress for my four year old to use for a regular mattress as he still has problems with wetting the bed (I've tried over night diapers and he pees out of them as well). I figured if he peed in his sleep I could then wash it off in the morning. My theory was correct. This mattress works great and I clean it off in the morning. Only thing I did not think about when I bought this mattress was how it would hold up to my spunky kittens. They have pit a few holes in it that I patched with duct tape. It still leaks air now but that was from my poor planning.

The built in pump works great as long as you have all the time in the world and muscles that do not tire. However, I have neither of these. I used a hairdryer on cool setting. It blew up real quick. Also, this air mattress has a slow leak that I believe is related to the pump. This mattress has been used every night since I got it (about 3 weeks). That could also be part of the problem. I have not woken up on the ground though. For the price, this is a pretty good mattress. I would recommend it for camping, unexpected guest, sleepovers, etc.

A lot of people are poking fun at this air mattress.. Hey Robert my air mattress is angry again, He said how do you know, it is hissing at me!! A lot of people said this is just a flat deal?? This air mattress has two ports. I don't think many people made sure these ports were fully sealed. I had no problems with the air mattress I used it for 3 weeks straight at camp inflated it and deflated it many times. I still have it and I still use it.I love the fact that it has a built-in foot pump and that which I have used with no trouble.

This is out second Intex brand air mattress. They are very reasonably priced and comfortable. The soft fabric surface is great, I wouldn't get an air mattress without it. This mattress' distinguising feature is the built in foot pump - no electricity or batteries required to inflate it. Time will tell how long it lasts, we use ours infrequently as guest or travel mattresses. My only complaint is that it does not come with a carrying bag, unlike the larger Intex model with built-in electric pump we have.
