When we were getting our puppy, the breeder told us to use newspaper on the floor for him to go to the toilet on. I immediately disliked the idea of using newspaper for two reasons - 1) clearly, that wouldn't stop the urine from soaking through almost immediately to the floor, never mind how many sheets you use - and 2) I like newspapers and don't want my dog to forever think that my Sunday morning ritual is a place to go poop. Our next-door-neighbour, having gotten her puppy house-trained very successfully using puppy pads, gave us a bunch of her leftovers to try for our Boston Terrier, Gremlin. He took to them within 24 hours. I can't say that it's been 100% perfect all the time, but it's been pretty good - probably around 50% in the first week, and we're up at around 90% now we're well into our second week. The pads are scented to attract the dog to use them as his toilet (but not a scent that you'll notice as a human), and they are basically like sheets of disposable nappy, with a plastic underside to stop leakage, and an absorbent core to dry up urine very quickly. These ones have the added benefit of changing colour when used - though to be honest, my dog always has his own colour to add, so whilst this is a nice touch if you have a dog who drinks a lot of water, it doesn't seem vital.Having popped into Harrods and been horrified to find they wanted to charge around £60 for 50 pads, I hopped onto Amazon and found these pads. I started to consider buying a smaller quantity, but if you're raising a puppy, you need to have around three of these out each day. You just change them at the end of each day (not just for expense reasons - having a little previous usage helps the puppy to remember to use it the next time too). Even if our Gremlin is house-trained well before we finish with 100 pads, I'm happy to know that if he's sick, or can't go outside for any reason, we'll have some stock on hand.Because we needed them urgently, I paid around £8 for next day delivery, and was delighted when they turned up at 9.22am - having only placed the order at 3pm the day before. The other great things about pads are that they really help you make the transition from indoors to outdoors, when your dog has had his second vaccinations. You take a pad out with you for the first few days and lay it somewhere attractive (to a dog) such as a lamppost, and then over time you try him without the pad and keep one folded away somewhere just in case. We've spent so much money on our little monkey already - but I can honestly say this is the one thing I wouldn't be without. If you're getting a puppy, make the investment - by the time you're done you'll think it's the best purchase you ever made.

Lucky that our puppy was quick to learn to go outside to pee etc. but placing these near her exit routes ensure that if she leaks on the way out its easier to deal with. We've got them on laminated floor so they can be stuck down, but not for long when an active puppy skids across them. Never intended to use them for teaching her to pee on as its better that they learn to pee outside from the start. Don't know how they perform on carpet. Tried one inside her car crate but she just tries to rip it up, so don't bother with that anymore.Several months on we haven't needed them in the house but they are now useful in the car dog crate. She's not into car rides and drools and vomits if she's been fed,so these pads are great for cleaning up. We keep a supply in the car and when we need to quickly clear the crate they can be removed and replaced by clean ones. She's now passed the stage of ripping them up.

I found this product very useful, never used any before so nothing to compare it to but saying that can't really fault it. Does the job really well, I did see in other reviews it being said about the sticky pad leaving marks on floor, i have found it depends on the flooring as it sticks more on the kitchen than the bathroom or bedroom floor, all different types of flooring. I do feel however that if you had a larger puppy it may need changing a lot more than i need to as my puppy is only small.and doesn't wet much each time she uses it. definately would keep using as handy to take with me on visits to put down just in case. All in all very satisfied.

I ordered these to use for my 12 year old Yorkie, who struggles most nights not to have an accident nowadays. Excellent absorption and easy to fold up and place in a poop bag for disposal. Solves my problem well and saves my kitchen floor from a soaking! Super fast delivery, although I didn't pay the extra for this. I agree with a previous review about not using the sticky pads provided, unless you absolutely have to. A good idea in theory, but it's really hard to remove the glue from floor tiles, so be warned! Overall, extremely happy with my purchase.

These pads are "life savers". My dogs love them and "christen" them the moment the pad is put on the floor. Good value for money, but, unfortunately, this supplier ships via HDNL. With Prime delivery it already took 3 full days for the box not to be delivered.I would give 5+ starts for the product itself, but I have not received it yet; hence, 4 stars. In conclusion, if you ever want to get your order without multiple calls and chase ups, make sure HDNL delivery is NOT used.

The price on these is better than anywhere else we searched, and after trying a few others, we settled on these because they proved most cost effective, just needed to use one at a time not 2 or three like some others (they will stay nameless though)We had one question when buying them just to help when comparing the price, what size are they? We measured them (yes i know a little bit sad but i thought it would help others) and they are 56 x 59cm if anyone needs to know.

I bought these pads for our pup before she was house-trained and they proved to be a godsend. We continue to use them just in case of accidents, illness,an off day,etc placed strategically around the house as she continues to visit her old stomping grounds, you'll know what I mean. The large 100 pack goes a long way,we're half way down our 2nd box in a year and a half so they are proving to be very cost effective as well as everything.

When my puppy did use these they were very absorbent and could be folded up and put in the bin no problem I only question the attraction of puppy to pad in order to use it. I found this very hit or miss. I did use the pad alongside his bed in a crate and this was very useful overnight if he needed to 'go'. No mishaps in his actual bed. They are very attractive as a toy to rip up and play with but perhaps that was just my puppy!

I recently got a Cavapoo puppy and have been training her using puppy pads as she has not yet had her vaccinations to go outside. These pads were excellent value for money, had quick delivery and are still good quality. They are scented and have sticky corners which has come in handy since my pup sometimes thinks its a toy to drag around! Can't say enough good things, will defiantly be repurchasing when I run out!

I couldn't have lived without these when I bred a litter of five Border Terrier puppies. Going through at least 8 a day, the larger packs were excellent value ( Amazon less than half the price of my local pet store). The sticky corners are useful, the pads are great at retaining fluids, and they are an excellent training aid - very willingly and consistently used by all the pups.

I have an elderly cat with renal probkems who won't use traditional cat litter. I have to place a puppy pad in the bottom of an open tray and she'll use this without any problems. The pads are very absorbsant and I haven't noticed an unpleasant urine odours, although I do change the used pads as soon as I notice they have been used. Will definitely buy these again

They were fab Did the job perfectly . Just about at the end of them now and puppy just about there and going to door . may need an other small pack. The sticky pads good but trying to get rid of them hard . Would be lovely to have alarm when they stood on them as you have to have eyes in the back of your head . didn't realise puppys so much work .Will recommend

Due to my dogs ill health this is the first time I have used pads and find them excellent. The only problem is the sticky tags used to keep them from moving is slightly difficult to remove from tiled floor at times but have tried others with no tabs and they slide all over the place, solution I only use two tabs just to hold it down, less sticky to remove.

Use these to train puppy to pee on them by placing her on them and saying 'wee wee ' . When she goes giving lots of praise . Firstly I placed outside her pup crate and after a few weeks moved to be by back door , within one month puppy was peeing in garden . Brilliant product , used before when training my older dog .

The training pads are great. They are very absorbent and do not fall apart when wet.My puppie took to them straight away.100% recommended. They stay in place without need of sticking them to the floor. The only thing is I would not use the stickers provided as it is very difficult to remove that glue from the floor
