Lots of poorly written reviews from people that have clearly never used, nor tested the intel skylake x range of cpus.First and foremost, these are currently the "best of the best" You can possibly buy, with core counts ranging from 4 to 18 cores.I have a 7800x and 7820x, both are overclocked to 4.7ghz on a corsair h115i, the important thing for the new skylake x cpus is the mesh clock speeds, at stock it is 2.4ghz but can be raised to 3ghz without touching any voltages, paired with good ddr4 memory (3600-4000mhz) you can expect blisteringly fast performance in games, and incredibly multi tasking performance. Many people will reccommend the cheaper ryzen cpus, but as the old saying goes "You get what you pay for" and this holds true.Unfortunately ryzen cpus cannot surpass 4ghz, (mostly around the 3.7ghz range) coupled with poor memory latency due to cross ccx communication and a lower IPC than intel this causes dramatic FPS loss in games compared to intel.Ontop of those issues ryzens productivity performance is not as good as people would like to believe, programs such as handbrake h.264 and Adobe premiere pro utilise avx instruction sets, unfortunately on ryzen this has been cut in half (cost cutting measures) meaning a 4ghz r7 1700 is only running avx at 2ghz across the cores, compared to intel where it runs at full speed (or even overclocked) alongside the implementation of avx512 (an extension to avx2)Overall ryzen is great for budget builds, but last that intel offers much greater performance overall.

I delided this and it makes an amazing difference can run at 4.8ghz with 1.2v max temp of 75 degrees with all avx left on. as the asus main board supports auto boost it actually goes to 4.9ghz across all cores and threads. I found if I reduce the avx load I get lower temps but lower test bench mark scoresbrilliant cpu as long as you delid it also supports ram at 4400mhz at the same time which it can achive

As a YouTuber and Live Streamer on Twitch I need a decent system and wasn't sure I'd get much better than my trusty old 4790k, but I'm glad I did the upgrade, this thing does everything and barely breaks a sweat. The only thing that tax's it is when I render a video, but then that should tax it no matter what you have.I can definately recommend this one for anyone that's interested in upgrading.
